I blame the scale. If you don't feel the extra 4 pounds, its not really there. You would know it, and would see or feel puffiness somewhere.
That 4 pounds is a scale offense that should not go unpunished. How dare it mess with your mind like that?
I finally ditched my digital scale in favor of a decades old spring dial scale that only shows 1 pound markings. Weighing has since been more peaceful for me.![]()

Do you think the spring dial scale is more accurate and less prone to fluctations?
Like anything else, it depends on the quality of the scale, but I have found mine pretty accurate through the years. (Has matched up with doctors scales.) You are just not going to be able to obsess about tenths of a pound like you can with a digital scale.

Thank you, ladies! Your support means a lot. I will see what tomorrow brings, but it probably brings a new scale soon! Lol
Mo! I am so glad you got your woosh! I hope you get several more this week.
On and on and on ward!

Pearly, fingers crossed that the 4lb mystery is solved today! By which I mean it evaporates and you can get back to the losing business.
AFM, 0.5 and 0.2 losses after the whoosh, so I'm headed in the right direction. I've decided to stop the round at 21 days. I usually like to go several days longer to lock in losses and hope for better stabilization, but it makes sense for my schedule to be able to eat normally (P3) next week. I have several social events involving food and it will be nice to be able to partake, somewhat. Also, looking back at previous rounds, I seem to have a stabilized fine after shorter rounds.
Happy Tuesday everyone!
Mo
Thank you, Mo! But. sadly, the saga continues. Today it again said the same thing.
I won't have time to get a new scale today, so will try one more thing. Give it one more chance at a happy and productive scale life. I put it in my bedroom where it is WARMER. I am hoping it just got cold under the window on the tile in my bathroom. It has been colder than it was yesterday, but it has been a continuous cold for the last few days so maybe that is it.
I ate everything to protocol and I swear, I feel slimmer. I cant' feel any bloat, ache or even a back pain that would indicate any irregularity on my part, but I will take some fiber later today---and see what that does. Maybe I am fooling myself.
If I hadn't just had normal losses a few at a time, I would convince myself the scale is right and I've only lost 4 pounds in the last 10 days. But that just does not make sense.
Have a good WOOSHY day everybuddy!

Good morning, everyone.
Mo, glad the whoosh fairy has been visiting you!
Pearly, good luck with your chilly scale.
I had a big drop this morning, which I fully expect to jump up for tomorrow's weigh-in. We had a monumental event in my neighborhood yesterday, which resulted in me celebrating with a few neighbors. So I had fruit for dinner. And by fruit, I mean a glass of shiraz. And by a glass, I mean 2 glasses.
Ugh.
Anyway, I think it's safe to assume I was more dehydrated than anything else this morning. I have set my expectations accordingly and will not panic if my body plays "bounce a pound" throughout this week.
ONWARD!

I gave up on batteries and springs years ago. I bought a balance beam scale from a doctor's office and fortunately have room for it. I can get 1/4 pound increments, that's close enough.
You might look at krill oil supplements - I have bern told they tend to be fresher and more potent. Before adding supplements, you might also consider what your current balance is between Omega 3 (from fish and meats) and Omega 6 (from plants and seed oils) fatty acids. Cutting back on seed oils like soybean, safflower, canola, corn oils, may provide the balance you need.
Good morning all.
This is a good day and I am not going to let a number on a scale get me down. It apparently is not the scale. I weighed at the gym and at my sisters and came straight home and weighed both times on my scale and they all said the same thing. I didn't weight nekked first thing in the am, but wore the same snow boots, stocking cap and sweats both places. They all agree. WHOT?
Ok. I just need to keep going. I have 3 more doses until I have to take a PI and as long as my clothes are fitting, what does a number matter. I think. That's my story and I am sticking to it. AGain. I am working on strength training, starting with easy aquatic aerobics, which I started yesterday. (Nope, AFTER "The Gain") and am trying to go 3 days a week. It is pretty gentle so far. Most of the attendees are in their 80's and I am not quite there yet. But I know it is still good for me. I started swim lessons two weeks ago (Nope on Thursdays, so 4 days before "The Gain") to improve my strokes and breathing. My goal is to be able to swim laps but I am a long way from that right now. Maybe with a kick board I could get half of one in.
Ok. So that is the plan. 3 more days of P2, 2 days of P2 eating transitioning, probably 10 day PI and back to P2 again. I am soooo determined. I have done some good rounds and had some awesome losses, so I know this will all come out in the wash. I have been 90% compliant 95% of the time on most rounds (Glad you enjoyed the wine and company, Kar!) but this round I have been 98% compliant 99% of the time. So I know I have had losses and this will WOOSH away eventually.
ONWARD.

Hello, lovelies!
Pearly, I'm sure it's good at least know your scale isn't up to no good. Great attitude: it's not just the pounds... it's also the INCHES! And you know the whoosh will happen in its own time.
I didn't bounce up nearly as much as expected. Not yet, anyway.
My goal should be attainable (knock on wood). With 2.4 pounds to go, I'm planning for LDW Tuesday (six days from now). I can extend a day or two if for some reason it makes sense to do so. We'll see how things go.
Hope everyone has a great day!
~Karen~
