Thread: LOVELY LOSERS 2023 - "Jammin' & Joyful" in January

  1. #73
I also use the 2.0 method from Inside out Wellness and have found the calculated calorie allotment (based on age/weight/sex) works well for me (664) and they specify keeping carbs at or under 30. My losses are generally 0.5 lb/day, which as I understand it pretty normal. They also have some interesting info/recommendations that I don't wholly subscribe to, I just pick the things I find useful (ie they allow for the addition of oils for cooking which I never do).

This is transition day 2 and I'm champing at the bit to start P3. These last several days have been really hard and I know its the phenomena I call 'I have to go to the bathroom' The closer you get to the bathroom, the more urgently you have to go. Like, if you had to, you could probably wait another 5 minutes. But just because you know you are close to relief you suddenly are in peril of losing control. Anyway, the closer I get to being able to eat 'normally' the more desperate I become to have different flavors, textures and quantities. I am so so sick of chicken. And lettuce. Stop reading now if P3 foods will make you crazy. Tomorrow morning I'm going to have bacon, eggs and avocado. I hope I don't feel uncomfortably full!

I hope everyone is tracking, especially you, Pearly. Maybe a Sunday Whoosh? Kar, I don't remember your first P3 day.

    Hello, everyone!
Pearly, thanks for always entertaining us! Don't consider the whole week a bust. Remember, when your HCG is good and you're following protocol, good things are happening, even if you can't see any outward signs yet.
I was planning to start P3 next Saturday, but expecting to reach goal in time would be unrealistic. Unless some miracle happens early this week, I'm extending so P3 starts a week from tomorrow (Monday, Feb 6). 2 more days should at least get me closer. I have set my menu and procured all ingredients for the duration of VLCD.
Mo, enjoy your yummy breakfast tomorrow!
I hope everyone has a great day.

You got it, Mo! That's what I was talking about. My number was 526 and I can use a tsp of oil a day and a tablespoon of milk. I don't use the milk and I rarely use the oil, but sometimes a super short squirt of olive oil Pam stuff on a pan that everything sticks to. But even that is very occasional.

Well, this is no dang fun. No, I didn’t get a Sunday woosh. I am UP 1.2 pounds. I know! I thought yesterday was letter perfect. I hit all my marks for 2.0 and I’ve been doing 2.0 successfully for 7-8 years.

Yesterday, my protein calories were 520, my carbs were 19g and fat was 23g. I think I’ve had one day where carbs were 33, but the rest were in the 20’s.

I would just quit and go have a donut if I wasn’t on this thread, I think. This has been the toughest round ever. I had one once where I just didn’t lose, ended early and re-started with fresh hcg and did fine the next time. I’ve also had a couple where my head just wasn’t in it and I cheated so much, I stopped and waited a bit. Next round after was fine.

I was losing fine, so that’s what’s so tough. My gain came BEFORE I added any exercise, other than mild snow shoveling. Believe me, I SHOVE more than SHOVEL, and it is very much the same effort as my usual yard work through the summer, so not really ‘added’ or new.

So, I am determined not to be a quitter. I have to check my mailbox but my hcg may have arrived late yesterday. (I hate those community mailboxes! I only check it once or twice a week because it is the wrong way from my usual route when I leave my house so have to make a special trip just to get a handful of junk mail.)

But, I will dose today and tomorrow and do a good transition and enjoy a P3/PI for at least 10 days. I will see how it goes. I will be back on P2 tho. I found a box of needles in the back of a drawer so I don’t even have to order those.

Oh, and I completely get what you are saying about proximity to the littlest room making you hurry. I notice that particularly when I come home from somewhere. I am fine until I walk in the door, and then woah! Hurry! Whot?

    Onward!

wOW. I WENT TO EDIT THIS AND LOST THE WHOLE DANG THING. NEVER MIND

Day 1 P3 and weighed in at LDW. I've held that almost exact weight for 6 days now, so hopefully that means I'll be able to stabilize from here. I always seem to bounce up a couple of lbs though, so I have to be philosophical. I know it's related to more food, and therefore fluid too, in my system. But when the loss is only 10-12 lbs I hate to give up any of it. Of course, that increase is only on the scale, not actual fat on my body I have to repeatedly remind myself. Better to focus on how my clothes fit, which is wonderful at this point. I always think I can see a bit of a change in shape in P3, but it's quite subtle and I don't know if it's my imagination. I know a lot of people talk about 'reshaping' in P3, but I'm not sure.

I had a nice breakfast of P3 foods, being careful not to eat too much and feel too full. I don't normally eat breakfast so it was a nice change.

Pearly, I hope you've seen a drop, but it's good news that you could see a change in the way your jeans fit. You're doing such a good job remaining focused on how the protocol works, even if sometimes you can't see it. Hopefully your PI will help you get a boost.

    LAST DOSE DAY!

Waaaaah. I'm only down .2 today. Tomorrow I transition. I am still 2 pounds above what I was before The Gain. No idea. All I can do is all I can do. I know there may be some out there who are thinking, maybe she's drinking! Maybe she is sneaking in a Snickers bar before bed. Maybe she is not even really on this diet and is just a confused troll. I swear, I am for real and no idea what is going on.

I'll be with you all during my PI and back into P2. I'll try to keep it brief as I know I can go on and on...

    Next round:
    1. I'm upping my dose a bit. I usually use the 22 mark but for some reason thought the 20 mark was a better idea this time around. I was pretty starving in the evenings so maybe that will be a help. I can always squirt out a bit and get back down.

2.I will watch the fat grams. I kind of think at 20 or so, they were too high. Runs in my mind I should keep to 10, but lean protein has fat, so not sure how to do that. At least, try to keep under 20.

3.Cut out the eggs at least to start. I know they were fine on other rounds. I used to just have black coffee for breakfast in P2, but what I liked about 2.0 was that there was that extra serving of protein to have for breakfast. I'll add back in P3.

So, keep me on the straight and narrow, Lovelies. Share! Let me know what YOU are doing. Don't leave me hanging out here as the only one posting! LOL

    Onward!

    Good morning, Lovelies!
Mo, I think a stable weight going into P3 is a good sign. Glad you enjoyed breakfast!
Pearly, the higher fat and lower protein sound like they could be culprits. Have you considered just egg whites for your P2 breakfast? I buy a carton of Bob Evans egg whites and skip the "one whole egg + 2 egg whites" standard.
AFM, I was down 0.2 today, so after playing bounce-a-pound last week, I'm net 0 the last 6 days. Whatever. I see more sagging tummy skin in the mirror, instead of plump skin, so there's that.
It's doubtful I'll land at goal unless the whoosh fairy has really been holding out on me, but I'll still count the round as a success. Along the lines of what Mo was saying about stabilization, I'm also cognizant that if the whoosh fairy's antics hit on the day of my last dose weight, that tends to artificially understate my target weight for the 2 pound window. An understated target weight makes for a miserable P3, to say the least.
Hope everyone has a great day!

PearlyMae - enjoy your PI. I hope when you resume, the round goes better.

I do hcg 2.0 also, but the only fat I allow myself is one coffee with cream before breakfast. After that, tea or almond milk latte.

Try 2 or 3 egg whites for your morning protein. I add s&p plus spinach or basil and a few capers to them.

For low-fat dinners, I eat chicken breast meat or tuna. It gets boring but spices help.

    Hello, Lovelies!
No change in the scale for me. I caught myself audibly saying, "oh, COME ON!"
I am the exact same weight as I was 7 days ago. Something has got to give soon, but as I said yesterday, a possible end of P2 whoosh concerns me because I don't want to enter P3 with an understated LDW.

Good morning, every buddy! Keep up the good work, and even more of a challenge, the good attitudes! Brave Lovelies!

I'm transitioning today and I have to admit I was dreaming of a big woosh. Four pounds would have been nice. Two pounds would have been very rewarding. Down .4. Point four. I am really ready for a P3 break, as I am getting more and more tired of weighing and tracking my food.

To be clear, my proteins have been baked (i.e. DRY) chicken breasts, a 93% lean ground beef and 1 egg a day. My looking forward to P3 is HWC in my coffee. I have only had black coffee, that is ANY coffee maybe twice as I just cannot abide it without HWC. I am thinking Bullet Proof Coffee or Farmer Coffee during my PI (BPC has coconut oil, Farmer uses butter). Can not wait. But I will.

I think my biggest change in my eating habits the last 10 years was eating breakfast appropriately. I've never been more than a toast on the run out the door girl. This diet--- not the P2 part--- but the learning to maintain part, has made me eat a healthier, protein based breakfast. Eggs and sausage, or plain yogurt and berries or a protein waffle made of egg and cream cheese. But everytime I start to lose it, I start skipping breakfast or going back to toast. Which is why I like having a poached egg on a slice of tomato for breakfast in P2.0. It keeps --or takes me back to --- a healthier schedule.

    Ah well. Onward.
Leez asked me to start the February thread so will post that link tomorrow. Any suggestions for the name? F_______ February? Hmmm. That took a unexpected turn....

A protein-based breakfast is important because we need to increase protein as we age; and we can only make use of 25 - 30 g of protein [not protein foods, net protein] in each meal. Two eggs + 2 whites is what I generally eat, and that's roughly 22 g of protein. I target about 85 g protein daily. Also, it's best if it's from animal sources, because those are complete proteins and highly bio-available.

    Pearly,
    Fuming and Frosted in February?
    Fraught and Furious?
    Frumpy and Frustrated?
    Famished and Faltering?
    Fluffy and Flabby?
Hee hee. Kidding. But that was fun.

    Thank you, Gig and Kar!
Gig, I totally agree, but while tracking in Carb Manager, even with 3 servings of animal protein to get 500 calories, the system gave me 70 g of protein to shoot for. I rarely hit it, so was seriously under. In P3, I ramp up to 100 grams and then back down to around 80, so am right there with you.

Kar, THOSE WERE GREAT! It sent me on a search for a synonym for determined that starts with an F and I found one. So will post that link in a bit.

Last day of transition and down .6. (Where was that yesterday???) Now only 1 pound over where I was on the 22nd. Yowza. Usually over the transition days I have gotten more and more hungry so eat extra proteins as the day goes by but have not been hungry at all. Felt exactly the same as when I had a dose. Makes me think my dose WAS too low and I will go back up a smidge next time. Makes a bit of sense if my body thought it was being 'starved' a little and hung on to every ounce, without enough hcg to comfort it.

Just as I was getting used to my swim /water aerobics schedule, the pool closed for repairs. That is going to set me back a week. Darn it. But, it is sooo cold this week, and will be in the 50's next week, so it will be easier to get out and go get wet.

    Onward!
