I have bounced up 8 pounds overnight during P3 (as I did during this P2), but lost all but 1.4 of it the next day, and am still coming down. My fluid levels are still fluctuating, but my docs are not concerned, so I am just going with it and not doing any correction days unless it stays up for more than 2 days, or if I feel like it is a reaction to food. I learned last round that rice is a BIG issue for me, causing a 5 pound gain that was hard to get back off. I only lost 10 pounds in almost 2 months this time, so I am looking forward to the next round being more "successful". However, there is not much point in starting a round unless I can get this fluid bouncing under control. With the Kaiser docs not helping me figure out what the cause is, I am just trying to work through it on my own. Part of it may just be the way my body is reacting to my schedule (2 long days of work each week). But until we move into town from the country, that will not change.

The good news this past month is that I was finally diagnosed with Ehler's Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), and while there is not much that can be done now, it is nice to have confirmation of what I have known was the underlying cause of many of my health issues for decades. Also, my doctors are now taking my issues a little more seriously. Most importantly, my daughter has been diagnosed and is getting proper braces and hopefully occupational therapy to prevent some of the joint damage that I have.

Back to work tomorrow. 14 hour day, including shopping at Costco between the 2 jobs. Then off for 3. I went through so much clothes and found some cute things for this summer, but much of it needs washing and/or ironing. Got a busy week ahead of me finishing the project, but when I am done, 1/5 of my clothing will be gone. I look forward to about 1/3 of what's left going away after the next round! I will not need to buy much clothing until I lose another 50 pounds, so I am happy about that with hubby losing his job last month. He is still looking...
Hello there! My first thought reading this was... mmmm bacon... I may have bacon dreams tonight. I swapped to turkey bacon years ago but it's honestly just not the same is it lol.

I love your perspective on the health diagnosis. I'm glad that answers questions that it sounds like you've had for a long time. I can understand how that would be a relief. And great job testing those foods that work for you.

I'm sharing this article a lot this weekend but it is honestly so helpful understanding those fluid fluctuations. Leez wrote it up a few weeks ago:

    The whoosh is explained here.

You are so lucky that dairy isn't an issue for you. That was one thing I learned that really puts the weight on for me; dairy. Before having my little one, I all but cut it out of my diet. Now, I stick to almond milk, coconut milk, and coconut milk yogurt. I skip cheese (unless it happens to magically appear on my rare pizza occasion.) This was really a HUGE key in my staying a size 6 for so long. That, and finding really healthy substitutions for foods I used to break doors down for. As for rice- have you tried quinoa maybe? or sprouted rice? There are quite a few healthy alternatives to traditional rice, and they are sooooo good. Quinoa with chicken, vegetables and braggs- yum! Or, one of my fav breakfasts is quinoa with milk and strawberries and a dash of xylitol or agave. Ok, I'm making myself hungry.

    P3 - Week 1

    Hello Lovelies!

    Otter Hello.jpg

Hope everyone had a loser weekend.

For me, everything went to plan, and I was able to end my short round with a 4-pound loss. Not much, but as I confessed to you all last week, I tried too many foods that are not on the HCG 2.0 list; thus my dismal weight loss in 23 days. At least I got 4 pounds from it.

Sometimes I get “things” in my head, and I just have to try them to see (and prove to the stubborn old woman that is now me), NOPE, you can’t have that at all! (i.e., blending a bit of cream & coconut oil into my almond milk for coffee; eating a protein bar for lunch instead of real food; I cannot lose and have anything like that while on hcg); I will have to be even more vigilant in my P3 for the next few weeks!

All T-Rexes are in the house, and doing their normal screeching and roaring

    T-rex meetings.jpg

    so must dash.

I apologize for never being on the site much anymore. It is not from lack of want, but rather lack of time. My days are longer and longer (as we are only 70 days away from our annual enormous convention in Las Vegas) and at this time, I’m doing all my “normal” duties, as well as additional reports, presentations, etc. preparing for that Events Monster. This includes working over the weekends to keep up.

Hoping that someone on this thread who is a little less busy and a little more motivated can step in and help, especially the new Lovelies that are just making their way through the hcg protocol. Please feel free to do so!

All Lovelies are welcome to chit-chat and support each other. Remember we are all DIFFERENT – what works for one, may or may not work for others. The important thing is that we share our individual experiences.

    Hugs!
    Christy

Hello hope you all are having a good day. I am bouncing around about a pound up on day 11 or 12 of P3. But I think I'm not getting enough food because I've been working out in the garden so much and I didn't take that into consideration. Although I do think a little bit might still be my salad dressing I tried again. So trying to remember what foods we can try during the latter half of week 2 could ever anyone remind me? Please? I just don't have time to sit around and look stuff up. But I might this evening after I get done putting in my garden in. Hoping everyone is having super great losses and maintaining well!

Tanya - what foods you try in P3 are really up to you as long as they are high in fat, low in carbs and you only try one new food each day (and weigh yourself the next day, to check for inflammation for that one new food).

RE: Salad Dressing - if you are not making your own, I'd be suspect of any sugars and preservatives in bottled dressing so be sure to check the ingredients list. There has to be a lot of "what is this????" items in there to stay unspoiled on a market shelf for months.

I personally cannot eat bottled dressing of any kind any more (not even Primal Kitchen, which are supposed to be on the healthier side) - they ALL smell and taste rancid to me. I always make my own.

I've been making my own salad dressings for years. Like Christy said, there are soooo many hidden sugars and other stuff in salad dressings, it's shocking. What I really like about making my own though, is that it's great to figure out what you like exactly, and come up with a few concoctions that take like 2 minutes to whip up. I do the same with my own ketchup and ****tail sauce and they are soooooo much better (and healthier) than store bought.

Here's a list of salad dressings compiled from readers and forum members, in one spot:

Since they are member submissions from over the years, do check that they are friendly for your particular food plan. And if anyone has some to share, please do!

Reading around some...broke my right arm Sunday.

Y’all keep up your good work, attitudes and support of one another.

AFM: Good enough. It could have bee much worse. Challenge is weighing in. WTH does a splint and wrap weigh from covered hand to over elbow. Took my scale to ortho today to weigh without but they left it and I get cast next week. No. Really. My DH carried my Omron scale. I just have P2 through next Monday so almost there. Frustrating. Tapping takes forever as I keep hitting next to keys. (((Blessings))). I am soooooo right-handed

Thanks, Jen. My fluid fluctuations are much more than the "whoosh". My feet and lower legs look like an 8 month old chubby baby's, with severe edema, and then they look dehydrated, and it just cycles over and over again. I have problems holding electrolytes, and take rx potassium and 3 different forms of magnesium throughout the day, plus use homemade magnesium chloride oil. I am also on a high sodium diet.

I love quinoa, but unfortunately, I have issues with oxalates, and it is high-oxalate. Rice was the one grain I would eat on occasion. Uncle Ben's converted rice tested zero oxalate, so I would use it as a treat under stir-fry a few times each month. Now I am giving that up. This round I will test split/whole peas and red lentils, and I hope they will not cause any lasting gains. Otherwise, it will be a few fruits, limited choices of vegees, and lots of meats and fats. I can have all the coconut I want, and am learning to cook with coconut flour (and garbanzo and tapioca flours too). However, if this is what it takes to get and keep my weight and inflammation down, then this is how I will eat for the rest of my life! I am willing to learn and adjust to what works for my body.
Hey, I'm Roni (Ronnie) I bought a ticket on the Onederland Express! Come along and enjoy the ride!

Oh shmeans - that sounds so painful!! Even if you can weigh without the splint & wrap, remember to take into consideration the inflammation that goes with that kind of trauma. Maybe ask the ortho how much a typical cast weighs, but honestly, I don't think you'll get an accurate read until you're all healed up - sending speedy recovery thoughts your way!
