Well...the patio area is in the works. Every plant we had died...so I have ever green bush transplants just put in...very tiny for now....

It had an oversized table and recliner and no room to walk so I really wanted to scale back on furniture but make it a place for conversation.

I would love a firepit...but with our male boxer not steady walking I won't take that risk for now. Eventually someday.

The two umbrellas will make it feel cozier... But too windy to have them out.

Looks good Brick!! I have a patio table and 4 chairs that I got a couple months ago. It was in front of someone's house with a FREE sign on it, so I scrambled home, grabbed youngest boy and his truck, and we went a loaded it up!! It needs a paint job too. So does my other round outside table that I repainted about 6 years ago.

Looks like I have another project to get to!!

This weekend I purchased a console from a consignment store for $300. It is huge! 78" long x 20" deep x 30" high. It will go at the foot of our cal king sleigh bed. It was a light color but kind of orange-ish. So. I've been staining it. Here it is in process. I think one more coat.

    Please excuse messy garage!!!

    Still babysitting

Christy: congrats on the big loss! That never happens to me, once something pushes me up it usually stays up. Hoping to get to a new happy weight this round. We'll see.

Brick: I worry too about the older kids, depending on what's going on. My son in the marine's is exiting out in July and driving home from NC. I bought a plane ticket for one of my 20yo twins to fly out and drive back with him. I'm already worried about them driving across country, lol and it's still 2 months away!

Kansas: I'm so impressed that you can fix the tractor. I wish I was more like that. I just make my husband do all that stuff. My mom is like that though, she fixes stuff all the time, builds decks and buildings and fencing, she was an electrical engineer before retiring. She fixed sonar on trident subs! She's still busy, busy all the time doing stuff and she's gonna be 68 or maybe more this year! I mean, I could do that stuff if I had to, but my husband, I call him my Renaissance man, he can do almost anything that needs doing, so meh, why should I bother? hehe

Day 3 of babysitting Alex. They've gone to my son's apartment last two afternoons and stayed the night there. That worked out better overall cause Alex had his own room and stuff and we all got a break here. Wow is this guy a handful. He randomly screams and yells in the car while driving, or says poop over and over. Or something that sounds like poop. No way I could have had more than 1 if any of them had been like this. I guess all my kiddos were pretty easy in comparison.

My honey took the older boys to see Captain America. I stayed home with the twins so maybe I'll take them this evening. Yea, we just found out my son won't be back to get Alex until 5:30 tonight! I had no idea this was going to be 3 full days of babysitting this cra cra little dude! Man I hope he pays my twins well, they are working hard! lol

They just fed him so he's calming down again. He was getting crazy yelling at them and they couldn't figure out why. He calls me Shell, it's kinda cute.

Oh, and I'm pretty much staying on track. Down to 152.5 this morning. Probably will stall out for a few days. Decided to try the dirty martini they were making on The Kitchen. I watched like 3 episodes yesterday.

Feel slightly recuperated this morning from the last 3 weeks of exhaustion.

Sugar: wow! Could NOT do that! You are a strong brave soul!

Randi: free is the best kind! I don't mind repainting and fixing up when it is free. I am most likely going to paint or stain anyway...

Frost warning tonight... I put my herbs in the ground the other day because it is after mother's day and that is the safe date for plants here. Now they are covered as well as the large house plants I lugged out in the covered porch.

My garden plants are in boxes still. Waiting until next week to get them in the ground at this rate.

Sandi - Love the pictures! Looks so wonderful! Palm trees, pool! Ahh I can't imagine living somewhere where the sun was visible most days! I've always wanted one of those outdoor heat thingies!

I can't wait to be out of this rental! Our back yard area kinda sucks. There's a big ole pine tree that drops needles 24/7 365 days a year.

I was going to say the only thing I like better than finding good used stuff at really low prices is finding good NEW stuff on clearance...but there is one thing I like more: FREE. LOL. You two have such a good eye! Or eyes, I should say!

Randi, I found a big stereo cabinet about that size and made a dog kennel out of it when my girls were puppies. I took out the insides and put screen door screen where the speakers had been. It wasin good shape and the same color as the woodwork and doors in the room I had it in. It opened in the back directly in front of the dog door, so my babies could come and go outdoors but were kenneledin the house. They liked it cuz I put yoga mat foam on the inside and cozy dog beds and food and water dishes on one end. To get to those, just lifted up the lid where the turntable had been, and to let the dogs out, there were cabinet doors where the record albums had been stored that opened. Id still have it but that house was huge and when I downsized from 4600sq fth houses to 950 sq ft houses, that was one of many things that had to go.

Back to closet cleaning. I haven't even packed one box yet! UPDATE: naaah Nap First!

    P

PS: Made after church brunch for myself. Easy Peasy Cream Cheezy Pancakes topped with fresh strawberries and blackberries, Ready Whip, and turkey sausage pattied on the side.
Sigh. I Love itwhen I cook.

    Feeling Chatty Today

    Taking a break here.

Randi - That salad sounds like something I'd eat on P2. LOL!! It sounds delicious. Great patio find!

Christy - Great loss! Whoot! And yes, you're right. When I go out with friends, I go out to have a good time and enjoy the great company and good food. I know that whatever choices I make will take 3 days max to undo. Life is too short to never indulge. I just try to indulge selectively, rather than on whim and whimsy.

    Deb - Great loss! Whoot!

Brick - Of course Vin wants to see her again. It's a bit of a distance away. That's kids for you. They pursue things parents secretly (and for me, selfishly) wish they wouldn't. LOL! (My daughter went to NC to attend Phys. Asst. School at Duke. I thought it was temporary, and was happy for her decision in schools. It wasn't temporary. Then, she moved to Oregon - the whole other side of the Continent, and I'm still in the middle of it. I wanted them to move closer to me. Didn't happen. Sigh.) In the meantime, I think Oregon is absolutely beautiful and I love to visit, but I don't want to live there. I like MN dry, frigid cold better than Oregon's cold, winter wet. I'll just keep visiting. At least I have my son and his family close by - less than 2 miles - walking distance if I'm up to it.

I LOVE your cushions and pillows. Great finds!

As for planting? I started prepping the garden at my son's house (where I garden) a couple weeks ago. Then it cooled off and got rainy. It's been cold here, too, with frost/freeze warnings - MIDDLE OF MAY! Same as you - Mother's Day is always good for planting. Not this year. Must be that global warming. LOL! I figure I'll plant when I get back the end of May since the soil is still cold and the 10 day forecast doesn't look like it'll be hot at all.

Fairy - You and your family are good people. I would have a hard time with someone else's unruly 3 year old. I'm going to be babysitting my own grandkids for 10 days in July in Oregon - 1yr and 3yrs - but they will go to day care each day AND my sister is going to help me. Even with my sister, I know I couldn't do 24/7 with them for 10 days (even 3 or 4 days). I just don't have the stamina I did when I was younger. LOL!! Great job for staying on track, even with a martini.

Gizmo is a cutie. My Pearl pushes my iPad out of her way with her nose and climbs aboard my lap when I am trying to type. And she is "She Who Will NOT Be Ignored."

But either Gizmo is an incredibly long dog wrapped around your computer or there is another one lurking on the near side. I see a tail! P

    On our way home today.

Christie: Nice loss hope it stays!

    Hi to all the rest!

Next weekend is a long weekend in Canada and I plan on doing another round.

Hopefully I didn't do too much damage and my scale isn't way off. I was back to only 1 up yesterday.

Brick and Randi: I like your outdoor spaces.

    Morning, everyone!!!

Brick: I completely understand you worrying about Vin. First, he's far away...second, he's never met the girl before...third, he doesn't respond...it's what any parent would do, really. When I first met my BF my mom was texting me the whole way until I told her we met and he's not an old man lol This Internet dating thing can be scary sometimes. Glad he seemed to have a good night though.

Deb: As others have said, you probably shouldn't do a PI until 21-23 days in. Glad you had that nice loss though! Maybe it's your body telling you to be patient I just did a PI after being 21 days on VLCD and I'm done with my first week back. Down over 6 lbs. in that week, so I think PI's can be a good "re-start" if you get into a rut. It's something to think about in another week or so for you.

Christy: Excellent loss! Hopefully it sticks

Kansas: You never cease to amaze me. You do it all!

Pearly: Congrats on the house!!! So glad the inspection went well and that the little one is feeling better

AFM: Only down 0.4 from the weekend but I didn't feel well yesterday so I probably ate too many crackers (I eat Carr's crackers instead of melba or grissini). Not enough protein or water yesterday but I feel better today. I ate eggs this morning even though I wasn't hungry. I'm just getting tired of the protein shakes and other proteins. I may start making a drink with spinach or something for my protein. I also thought about getting some broccoli for a chicken/broccoli stir fry with bragg's aminos. I may try that tonight or something. I have my "female" appt. today, so hopefully that goes well. I HATE the way I feel after lol Other than that....we may actually (FINALLY) be going to Florida soon

So yesterday Randi's pic wouldnt load up...now I see them. Love the tables and chairs and they correspond perfectly!
I like the cabinet idea... Esp at the end of the bed...what are you doing with it? Restaining or just a good cleaning?

I have ask Randi....being in Ohio....the washer and dryer in the garage would never happen unless it was an old one for muddy work clothes... Esp since around here most garages are not tempered spaces. I often see in shows folks have their machines in garages...is that the norm? Do you all have basements? Or slab foundations?

It has always caught my attention.... LOL! Weird...I know...

Thanks Pro! I worry some catfish thing going on or abduction....esp if they know he is traveling away from his home a while.

He is off to see her today...
