Thread: Lovely Losers - Magnificently motivated and meritorious in May!

  1. #85
Tiger, I just saw your post on the April thread. Congratulations on the major weight loss! That's almost a lb a day! I really appreciated hearing your success on the Eat Right For Your Type foods. I read the book over a decade ago and thought it was a little kooky. Now I'm seeing a lot of wisdom in it. The only things I don't want to give up are pork (bacon), tomatoes and olives. I'm reading and considering it. I have the Live Right For Your Type book. I must have gotten rid of the Eat Right when decluttering since everything seems to be in the other book. If you have both, is there more detail in the Eat Right book?

RE: clutter. Has anyone noticed weight loss and decluttering go hand in hand sometimes? I love it! Last time after I lost the weight, I did a massive declutter, and that was probably some crazy pregnancy thing, but I've kept it up, and am motivated to do more now.

    Thumbs up P3 Tips?

Perdita, Shmeans, Charlie and everyone about to start P3, HOORAY! Congratulations on every pound you've set free!

Has anyone seen the P3 lessons on hcgchicka's web site? Or are there other sources with great advice for P3/P4 with more details than in Pounds & Inches? I've generally done really well in P3 and even eaten out without gaining-I think that comes with years of low-carbing. It is second nature now, and after P2, being able to eat a bunless burger or steak is heavenly! The one thing that made me gain was bacon, but always thought it was just temporary water weight.

hcgsunshine: Counting days to P3, losses slowed but I know that happens. I've not seen chicka's website. I'll have to check that out. I have bookmarked grammy1952's blog and find it to be a wealth of useful information. It will is: https://hcgdietinfo.com/grammys-hcg-diet-blog/. 💕✝️

Tiger, You know your body best, and you'll know when to stop. Is it easier for you to move on and start a new round later or will you be dreading it? For me, the long rounds are easier than the restarts. In the past, after doing a lot of rounds, without a long enough P4, I could feel I was overdoing it and needed a longer "break". You might try a few more tricks to get the food in and then decide whether it's your body telling you something or just your mind/taste buds. Some stall on canned tomatoes, but one of my favorite treats on P2 is to use Muir Glen Fire Roasted Tomatoes to make a "chili" or "meatloaf". You could cook it with your meatballs. I also find tossing meat and veg in broth helps immensely. I love to chop up chicken, celery and apple, toss with spices and squeeze lemon juice or lemon and ACV. It's even better after sitting in the fridge all day. Maybe we talked about that one so sorry if you've already tried all these. Another thing I keep reminding myself when I think something is too expensive is that we are eating small portions of meat. So this is the time to splurge on the good stuff. If you can have filet mignon every week, 3 oz at a time, it isn't quite as much of a splurge. Also think of all the $ and work you are putting into getting healthy. Doing it now means more savings down the road rather than needing more rounds and more hcg. ETA: I just caught up to your post about tomatoes. Sorry, I have to watch them too.

Perdita, I LOVE that the nurse thought your old weight had been entered incorrectly!!

Lizbo, I have only done the hhcg drops and 6 drops 3x a day works well for me. I have only used one brand and having nothing to compare it to, but lost 100 lbs last time and am on my way to losing it again! 40 lbs. down this time. The brand I use is no longer made with hcg. I will have to find a new brand when I run out. Hopefully others will chime in with their brands. Welcome to the group! I believe you will like it here. There are so many kind and helpful and fun people here!

    Hi Everyone!

Just found this group and would love to join and support each other! On HCG for the first time. I started 4/30 on P1 and now I'm on my 4th day of P2. Today has been harder, I think I'm detoxing which is resulting in a headache. I'll get through it. So far so good although I'm anticipating some rough days ahead as I get to the middle point.

First day of no shots. Down .4 this morning. I'll take it!

All this talk of mayo reminded me of my favorite mayo recipe. Super simple to make (especially if you have a stick blender), yummy, and very clean!

    http://meljoulwan.com/2010/06/03/the...mayo-patience/

And ^ she uses that mayo as the base for a couple of great salad dressings, like ranch and creamy italian. I'm drooling just thinking about it. Can you tell I've been on P2 too long? LOL

Did someone say "popcorn"?!! Oh no! I'm putting my fingers in my ears and singing, lalalalalalala.....

Charlie - 1400-1800 calories - where can I find more info on this? I don't remember counting calories during P3 before, but I'm willing if it will help. I am starting to read my previous round journals to spot any patterns. I noticed that some P3 rounds I ate a ton of food and still maintained. It seems the P3s I had the most trouble with were when I ate out and likely had hidden sugars and starches. Also, my body doesn't like dairy. I can have some greek yogurt and a tiny bit of cheese if it's early in the day.

klcarty - thanks for the warning about going too low carb. I think there's truth in what Grammy says. I think really low carb is too difficult to maintain (for me), unless it's just for a very short amount of time. And yes, I agree with you - life is not worth living without avocados and bacon, blood type or not! LOL.

malia - welcome! When I get headaches, drinking lots of water seems to help.

hcgsunshine - decluttering, yes! I remember watching a Biggest Loser episode in which the contestants ran up a hill carrying backpacks with the amount of weight they had lost. At each stop they removed the amount of weight from the backpack that they lost that week. Their load got lighter and lighter. It was such a powerful visual to me. 17 lbs is a lot of weight for little old me to be carrying around, let alone 30+. No wonder I've been tired all the time. Now that I've lost some weight, I can feel my energy returning. And with my newfound energy, I am motivated to declutter our house (Marie Kondo, anyone?). Decluttering is such a great metaphor for weight loss!

I have not seen chicka's website either. My best round in terms of stabilization was when I followed Whole30 during P3. It's not hcg focused, but a very very clean paleo diet. I may do that again.

When I compare my progress this Round to my Round 1 in 2011, it is positively uncanny how similar my progress and results have been. It's not one of the ones on here now but there was an active group back then. 💕✝️
My bottles were that old too! I bought a box of them when hhcg was threatened all those years ago, and the seller offered a big sale. I kept mine in the box in my closet, and they still work even though they say they expired in 2015! There was a note with them saying that homeopathics never expire if you keep them in a cool dark place. I'm relieved they work, and I didn't waste $ buying them!

    Good day!
Wow, im busy a day and 4-5 pages show up!
Ive watched several of hcgchicas videos in the past. I refer back to them now and again. But since i do 2.0, i dont that much.
Well after my high protien day yesterday, i only dropped a 1 lb. But, i worked in my yard weeding, and bar mulching for10 hours. Started at 10 am came in when it got dark. Obviously, i came in and ate, but i worked hard all day.

5 more lbs to go to get to ldw. Im not very good at the slow thing. This has definitly taught me to never ever cheat again!
My blood type is 0 neg. Im very popular when it comes to donating. I get called all the time. I will have to check out the 0 neg recommended foods. Im a carnivore! Red meat being my favorite. I used to joke, its because im a decendent of the Donnar party, which, i am. But, i can eat chicken all the time. I dont get tired of it. I eat it every day. I love crispy baked thighs. I even love it cold.

WTG P!!! I just printed the mayo recipe AND I bookmarked Whole30 which somehow I've never heard of. I'll be reading and studying on that for the next few days. In the past I have done fine with dairy though I'm not one for modifying things much. ✝️

OK, now all I want to eat is popcorn. Geeze, it has been at least 4 years since I've had popcorn of any kind.

    I HATE CRAVINGS.

    They are just simply evil.
I love to make popcorn with butter flavor coconut oil (to cook it in and to put on top after popped) and then add salt and yummm. No special equipment needed. Can make on the stove top in a pan with a lid or in the microwave with a vented covered dish.

Christy, I love that, i need it pinned to my forhead!

Smeans: my daughter and hubby did the whole 30. she lost 8 and he lost 15 in the month. not sure i can give up dairy and stevia. dairy
    maybe. stevia...no.

i gross and disgusting moment in my day, today. dont eat as you read this. consider yourself warned!!

I took my salad to work and put it in my teeny tiny fridge. later got it out and put all the fixins on it. people came in the shop
so i didnt want to be eating while they were there. So, an hour later i'm hungry and i think oh ya, havent eaten my salad. So i go
to grab it and there is a ginormous fly sitting on top of the tuna.....laying eggs!! She'd already been pretty busy as there were 3 piles of
them. i about died!!!! my friend said it was a blow fly and they do that. i'm so stinking disgusted!! never ever had that happen, that i'm
    aware of.
