Y'all, this is why I love Janeen so much. From her structured P3 plan:
    "Week 2
    Step 3
    Hard liquor, Wine
Red wine, Bloody Mary, hot buttered rum"

I don't have a place to play on here for P3, so I hope you'll let me hang out here. I promise not to talk about food!
    Welcome back Sarah!

Haha! Just keeping it real! You can play here, and you can talk about food. I'm on p3, too. In fact, a hot buttered rum sounds wonderful this cool morning. Except that it's 7 am! Ha!

It's not even a stall yet if it's only 3 days. It's just normal. Carry on.

Thanks Janeen, I needed that! You know I have done so many rounds, it is coming off much more slowly this time.... trying so hard to get down for a wedding that's coming up in October. I do feel like my clothes are looser so I know there something going on underneath the skin. When I am on hCG I have amazing energy and all my menopausal symptoms go away like magic.

    Hello Lovelies!

Power finally came back on after Irma's ragged corpse dragged over Georgia on Monday. It was so nice to be on P2 and not worry about having a bunch of stuff going bad in the fridge. Thumbs up to Whirlpool for making a rock solid appliance; I still had ice this morning! This chum bucket of a round is almost over and I'll be delighted to see it go. My first P3 was solid as a rock, no corrections, no cheats, stabilized two pounds below LIW - like a BOSS! Cheese was the first thing I added back along with homemade mayo which I then used for ranch and blue cheese dressing. I'll be ready for a repeat next Thursday.

    Happy losses!

    Round 1, P2: 187 to 168
    Round 1, P3: 166 stable

    Round 2, P2: 168 to 156
    Round 2, P3: D4, 156

Friends! Just wanted to post here...so i removed eggs and milk from my intake and started 2 shakes a day (jay robbs and quest for dinner) with one vegetable each time (cucumber, lettuce, cauliflower, any that i want). Drinking more than 2 liters of water and coffee, tea etc etc. Did this for past 2 days and i lost like 5 pounds. Unbelievable! But funny thing is that today i was up 2 pounds.

Wondering what happened?? My happiness went away too quickly
Also exercising 30 mins - 1 hour (walking)

    Advice??

    Hello Lovelies . . . .

To those who have unexpected fluctuations on P2 or have no weight change at all for 3 or 4 days, I use my 100% non-scientific but close enough visual of how your fat cells get rid of fat, fill up with WATER to survive (because your body does what it can to always keep those cells FULL) and then finally releases.

Journey of a fat cell on HCG.jpg

Now that you have that in your head, multiply it by a minimum of 30 million. The average healthy human body has about 30 million fat cells. (However, if you were obese as a child . . . and I was . . . you could have nearly twice as many as that . . . but let's stay with 30 million).

Now that you have that visual in your head, multiply it by 8% (how many fat cells you replace in a year) divided by 352 days in a year. I get about 6500 cells totally getting replaced A DAY normally. So you have all that going on + you are challenging your body to BURN, BURN, BURN the fat right outta those little boogers, which your body does NOT want to do, WHILE convincing your body that you are NOT starving.

Here is another visual that I love to show as well - the body weight fluctuations you go through in a normal day. (Thanks to Randi for providing this one! I love it)

    Body Weight Daily Fluctuations.jpg

Did that help a little? I hope so.

Obviously science continues to argue incessantly about the best ways to lose weight, but in 59 years, I have never found anything that works as well and as consistently as the HCG protocol . . . and I say "protocol" because this is a way to change your eating habits to foods that love your body for the rest of your life, not just a typical "diet." Believe the protocol works if you follow it.

I have to stop now. Doing math makes me dizzy and gives me a headache.

It does not matter how slowly you go, so long as you do not stop.

    Hubby Health Update

Most of the Vets here will know about Jim’s heart issues, but in a nutshell, his entire family has heart problems; mother and oldest brother died of heart issues; 3 more brothers have had open heart surgery and/or heart attacks. His Grandfather and several uncles all died of heart attacks. 5 years ago we had his first heart scan done, and his calcification score (shows calcium deposits in the wall of arteries due to chronic inflammation) was nearly 270, which is very bad.

There is no known cure for this problem, and some medications (like statins) actually can make it worse. Eventually an artery will get so "clogged" that a bypass surgery has to be done. The one visit to a cardiologist resulted in a perfect stress test score, and me nearly (verbally) beating the doctor into the ground, when he suggested Jim go on a statin! (BTW, Jim's cholesterol score is 130, with his HDL in the 60's, so ZERO problems with cholesterol!)

Yesterday he had a follow-up scan – the scan shows a 30% DECREASE in total calcification, which is a score below 190. His left main artery is totally clear now - according to the Doc, that is the main artery where 80% of blockages cause the most problems.

The doctors are (quite frankly) baffled and do NOT want to give credit where this is due. I firmly believe this is a result to our lifestyle following the phases of HCG and incorporating PALEO eating into the P3 phase (and never EVER going to a “P4”).

We do not eat any sugar or wheat ever, with the not so horrific grains (like Quinoa) being on the table occasionally, about once a month. We eat lots of healthy fats, high quality meats, cook or saute everything in Kerrygold butter or coconut oil, salad dressings made with avocado oil and eat very nutrient dense foods.

We don't eat much of anything pre-processed. Yeh, it is a total buzzkill to have to start from scratch every stinkin' day for every meal (and I do buy Green Giant riced cauli in a bag now - Thank you, Pearly for this fabulous food GEM!) but you see the proof above. It is a very small price to pay to keep my Hubby off the operating table for heart bypass surgery.

We still struggle with keeping the pounds off - Hey! We love food!! But even the really good for you food can cause weight gain if you eat too much of it Thank the Good Lord above, we have hcg! HCG works. I struggle with it a little now – I’ve completely lost count of the rounds I’ve done since 2010; but of course Jim (being a MAN!) can do a 30 pound loss about once a year and keep most of it off.

Thus our yearly “Couples Round” in October to prep us for the upcoming holidays.

Obviously, this is not scientific. Everyone is different and everyone responds to different protocols. But this is working really well for us.

Thanks for letting me share the good news! There is some happy dancing going on at our house.

PS – More thoughtful ramblings - doing a round in October keeps me far, far away from any Halloween candy. I just don’t want it anymore – ANY of it. There are so many other foods that keep me satisfied and – after 7 years of no sugar – anything with sugar tastes kinda weird to me with a sour aftertaste. Anything with high fructose corn syrup tastes downright nasty. And I can now taste if something has been cooked in vegetable oil - matter of fact, I can SMELL it now.
