Johnny Cash??? COOOL!!! What a neat life you have! I have 2 left feet and DH always gets mad when we dance because I won't let him lead LOL!
I live in Ukraine...it is cold and snowy here!
You are just further proving that I need to read this book! Yes, hormone therapy, resetting our systems in regard to fat storage. That is a great way to look at it.
So yes! Performance and stuff— it's what I do. The story in a nut shell is; I've been singing professionally since I was 5 (cool things I did: sing with Johnny Cash, sing at the Vatican). From there I started acting and dancing at about 16. I ultimately obtained a degree in Musical Theatre with a minor in dance. I've been working in Seattle since 2009. In 2011 I decided to try burlesque since its roots were in all the things I've already been doing. I like it! Buuuut, it also feeds some of my least healthy body ideas.
Where are you all from?

Jill, that is just amazing!
Tracey -- Ukraine? Are you from there? Or maybe since your login is travelgirl, you travel all over?
My dh and I were looking to go to Ukraine a few years back to adopt a child, but them Ukraine stopped international adoptions and started moving the children from the orphanages to foster homes in Ukraine. I would think that was probably a good thing, although an expensive disappointment for us. It's all worked out for us now, though.
Jill -- I'm in Texas. Good thing it's not July, because then you would all have to listen to me kvetching about the heat!
Tracey, I always gain a little (or don't lose as much) the morning after I've exercised. I think it must be water retention in muscles or something, because it usually levels out the next day. I tried keeping up my regular workouts in my first round, but that didn't work out for me. I wasn't losing well and was really tired and hungry. Now I just keep it light -- walk about 3 times a week and drop my weights completely. I'll pick it back up after I've stabilized a bit in P3.
Also, I always eat more protein. When I had my rx filled the first time, the pharmacist told me it was ok to increase protein a bit, but not carbs. I usually have around 4 oz chicken and 6-7 oz fish each day. I don't lose well with beef, so I just avoid it for now.
Also, the protocol from my doctor has no Melba, but 2 veggies each meal, so I've always mixed veggies. I don't even think of them as cheats since they are on my original protocol.
Hi Everyone,
Ya'll sound like me. I have used HCG before and lost but gained some back. I have tried to do the protocal a few times and just wasn't in the right mind set. I am going to do better this time. I live in Louisiana (Northern part). I am on r2p2day5 and I have lost 4.5 pounds so far. It is interesting looking at this as a hormone therpy. I guess I have modified the diet a little too, I do mix veges some and I eat a little more protien. I have planned on doing a 40 day round. Jill I don't think you cheated asparagus is protocal and so is beef. Ya'll keep up the good work.
Dance as though no one is watching, Love beyond words, Sing as though no one can hear you.
Thank you for all the warm welcomes! What an interesting and diverse group we have here...I love it!
Yes today is VLCD1. This round is a bit unusual for me. Usually, I get all my ducks in a row and i am super prepared. Not this time. I decided to jump and start this round already and have necessity make me do all the things I need to do. Talk about procrastination! See? I fit right in...in fact I probably deserve a medal! Lol!
So, for my first meal I had the egg and egg whites for my protein, as that is all that I had ready in the fridge (defrosting some chic for tomorrow, and I can do fish tonight, as that defrosts quickly). Must do some shopping today.
I am toying with the idea of doing the 800 protocol by Sonia Russell. There is some compelling data there. However, its too late for that for today, as that calls for breakfast.
Load was weird, I only gained .5 lbs in 3 days!!! A friend of mine has the theory that you gain alot during load if you have been eating clean before your round, but if you have been eating junk, then you only gain a bit. Well, it is certainly true in my case!
But, I must say, it feels so good right now to be eating light. In some way, I am so sick of food. I am sick of the hold it has over me, ya know?
This thread just screamed my name! Typical for me - I should have started Jan 1st. Today is my vlcd1 so I weighed in this a.m. Yikes, I was 10 lbs more than I thought!! Looking back on my last round, I'm only 1 lb heavier than my starting weight. I need to lose at least 20 pounds by mid Feb. I need to buy a formal gown and refuse to have a "gut". Watching the golden globes tonight for inspiration. Good luck to everyone on this round!
Hi everyone!
Janeen I work here, and have 18 months to go. The orphanage/foster homes are hard to go to here. So many children need to be adopted but so much red tape, too. The church I attend and lots of NGOs are here trying to advocate for the children. I do love to travel though, and we have been able to go a lot of neat places!
Where in Texas are you? When not working here, we call Texas home, in the Hill Country. Our retirement dream home will be near Canyon Lake!
Hi LA girl! Welcome! I just finished day 5 as well, but can only hang for about 30 days!
Way to go on Day 1 Marion! Let us know how the eggs work....I think I might have used eggs one time in one round way back when.
AFM, I had a nice little loss yesterday..1.4 even after the gym and sauna! I did drink more water than normal, so maybe that did it.. I'd love to get back into the 120s early in this round to see if I can go lower than 125. I was 124 before the holidays, but it lasted about 2 days, and I jumped back to 127 where I ended last round...then the dreaded holidays. The last 15 lbs seems to always trip me up!
Hope everyone is great!
Tracey

So much encouragement in reading your posts! I really like this group. Welcome Lagirl and hcgsandra! Did I miss anyone? I welcome you too!
I had a frustrating day (my beloved Seahawks! So close!), and a sad one (BF fight! Oh no!), but it ended pretty positively. In the frustration and sadness I had the strong pull to turn to food but resisted. Feeling pretty proud about that. So, day 3 VLCD down! I did some roasted radishes and they were great!
Janeen -- Very sorry to hear about the breaks getting put on your adoption. I read a bit about that last week and it sounds just awful. You are in my prayers, and I hope your family gets the addition of a(nother?) child soon. Your kid is out there!
Tracey -- Ukraine! Super cool! My BF's grandma is from there, and we are really looking forward to visiting. We wont be able to afford it for a long time though. :-/
Marion -- I actually lost weight on my load--3 lbs! I have no idea what that is about, but my energy levels are pretty good and I'm feeling ok so I think I'll be fine. It was pretty weird though!
Getting excited to weigh in on Friday!

Welcome, Tanya, Sandra, and Louisiana!
La, it sounds like you are off to a great start! Yay! How long of a round are you planning? What are you taking?
Sandra, I had the same problem. When I finally weighed, it was a full 5 lbs more than I had thought. Ugh.
Tanya, I think I remember you from 2 years ago! Just like you, I have been dreading doing this again. I put it off and put it off, thinking I could fix the problem. After all, it was a small problem. Short version is that it didn't work, so here I am. Now that I've committed and started, though, I feel really good about being here.![]()
