Thank you all for posting. Rose is right. It helps you and it helps US.

Posting when nobody else is, is a diary.

I'm at the same exact weight. That is 3 days in a row. I do not believe I have ever stayed at a weight (that I actually liked) for three days. Usually by now in P4, I am bouncing up and down toward the top of the 2 pound window. Then it's bouncing up and down in and out of the window. And so on and so on until I start over.

Does everyone else stay at the same weight for days and days? Is that stabilzing? How have I been doing this to the best of my abilities for over 10 years and still not know about stabilizing?

I know that I do okay but start creeping up and then some kind of catastrophe strikes. I know I am an emotional eater and I also eat for energy, so if I get very sick or very stressed over something, that will throw me back into potato chips for supper. And there is always SOMETHING!

This frozen neck and shoulder thing happened right on schedule, didn't it? This time around, i have made it through unscathed. So far.

I am going back to the pool today, after a full week of missing. I am going to be bounce-free, I know!

    Onward!

I think that stabilizing means you stay around 2 pounds up or down from your target. As long as you occasionally drop down to that target weight, I think you are stabilized. Once you stop dropping back down, you are then in gaining mode. Thats the way I look at it. Hardly anyone stays the same weight day after day, and especially women don't. It might be an interesting experiment to pick one day of the month and record your weight on that day for a monthly comparison. If you are stabilized, its not going to show a lot of fluctuation.

Fluctuation is the day to day stress producer we all deal with though. Sometimes I have to take a break from daily weighing because it starts to be a stress in itself.

Hey, ladies! Glad you're all doing well...same for me! My 3rd child turns 18 today, so doing lots of cooking. Weather is not cooperating for grilling out, though....cloudy and rainy. Oh well, we grill in snow here in Iowa! Have a fabulous one!

TanyaMac, I'm getting a vibe that you are going to have an awesome round!

Thank you, Leez. I have a less stressful life than I have had for.....uh... the last 50 years. So maybe this time, I can maintain. I am sort of retired, but work two free-lance jobs and am a caregiver for my nephew. Maybe 20 hours total a week usually, though lately it has been more like 50 to 60. I'm past that project and can take a breath. I LIKE eating healthy; but lose my control when I am tired or sick or sick and tired.

Rose, I just don't do Chinese food. I can gain 3 pounds overnight from the salt. And I LOVE ME some salt on everything esle. I don't cook with it, but I sprinkle heavily when eating. But I swear, when salt is cooked IN, it takes a whole heck of a lot to taste, and I am pretty sure that is mostly what triggers gains with Chinese restaurant foods. Everything is so good, too, that eating a tiny amount doesn't work. All those veggies and soups, all are lovely and healthy. It's just the sauces that are killers. But! It is just a blip for a day or two, and settles back down, I hope. When you are in that atmosphere, there are very few good choices, and a baggie of carrot sticks doesn't cut it!

tMott, I'm from Iowa, too. Born and raised, but lived in Albuquerque for about 25 years before coming to Colorado to help my sister with her 3 babies under 3. Now they are all in college. What part of Iowa are you in? Are you from there? If so, we are probably related in some way. LOL. My middle sister still lives in Iowa, northwest almost to Minnesota. Above Waverly and east of Mason City. My father's family were founders of Iowa Falls. On my mother's side, Norwegian farmers going way back.

Yesterday I almost didn't weigh, as I was up and at 'em 2 hours earlier than usual. I was up a whole pound whch I tried not to worry about. Today, I am back down .8, so all good. I made it to my second waterbouncing class of the week, and planned to go to a new one early this morning....and chickend out. So only twice this week, but hey, that's twice. I put my swim lessons on hiatus until my shoulder finishes giving my twinges. I can't do the back stroke if I can't lift my arm properly. And I need to get my stamina back. I was sooooo tired last night. Ha. and I actually told myself I was going to get up and go to the pool.

    Onward!

Ok, where did every buddy go?

How was your weekend? What were your challenges? What was fun? What kept you on track?

I was back down on Saturday, up a pound on Sunday. I hate when that happens. I had NOTHING wrong, but I did eat three full meals on Saturday-- eggs, cheese, tomato and sausage for breakfast, nice big salad with shredded chicken for a late lunch, and roast beef with au jus, mashed cauliflower and tomatoes and cucumbers sort of late supper. The beef serving was small; I froze the rest. So, up with volume maybe?

I got up and dressed for the pool this morning, then remembered I hadn't weighed. Well, I stripped down and started over. Back down the pound. Whew. Worth taking the extra five minutes to reassure myself.

I seem to do better, stay closer to goal, on two meals and appropriate snack a day. It is not always the same. Sometimes I like a big old salad with everything I can think of thrown in, for lunch, and then I'm not really hungry for supper so I'll have yogurt or just berries. Other times, it's the breakfast I don't have time for, so will have a brunch type lunch early and then I'm good until suppertime.

Got some furniture rearranged and some decluttering done over the weekend. I bought a new sofa and it will not be delivered until the 20th but I couldn't wait to see how it would look, so used my old sofa to rearrange like it is going to go. I'm taking my small TV room apart to make it my office, so need to move the TV to the living room, where I've never had a wall to put it on. My baby sister came up with the right arrangement to make it work. I thought she was nuts, but as usual, she was right and I was wrong! LOL, Which she made me say outloud. Then I told her I'd lived here for four years and NOW she comes up with the solution? What took her so long? New (to me) sofa is bright red, so that will shake things up around here!

    Onward!

Good morning, ladies! I've just been hanging in there, enjoying a bunch of grilled foods. Hovering below LIW which is great. Loving the weather except now it's been rainy past couple of days. Ready to transplant my seedlings into the garden and planters.

Rose, I grew up in Cedar Falls, but live in Waterloo now. Not my fave. I lived in CR for about ten years and just moved to Waterloo 3.5 years ago. My family has strong Norwegian genes also!

tmott, it was Me, not Rose, who was from Iowa. (Although...hmmmm. She is in Texas now, but seems like we do have some sort of location connection.) But you and I are from the same neck of the woods. Both my sisters, and two nieces went to Wartburg in Waverly for college. Waterloo is the Big City around there. LOL.

Holding my own, I absolutely love it when I am the exact same weight as the day before...as long as it's a weight I want.

A charity furniture place is coming to get my old sofa. I bought it from them four years ago, LOL, so guess I just rented it. It is way too big for anywhere else in the house, so out it goes. It's getting real. I am finally gettting my office where I have always wanted it! Now to get someone to take the perfectly nice leather sofat from the living room. The seat is peeling. Otherwise it is in perfect condition. If someone is in the "I can throw a blanket over it" phase of life, it will be a great sofa for them. I've done that phase of life (more than once!) and want something I DON'T have to throw a blanket over.

I did a new water exercise class yesterday--water zumba. Pretty much the instructor dancing her brains out on the deck and the rest of us just jogging and kicking. She'd do three or four steps and wiggles while I was still trying to get my leg up and down once against the water. LOL. But it was a good workout. I'm trying a new one today, after my usual "gentle" one. It is in the deep end of the "big" pool, with a float belt on. I might drown.

    Onward every buddy!

So yesterday was Romeo's Big Day: a ride in the car to the vet. He YELLED at me every minute. He did calm down once we got indoors again, and his exam went well. He's actually down 2# to 13.1# - diet cat food actually works!

I really dread our 1600 mile drive next month. The vet prescribed gabapentin, which I'll pick up tomorrow and try out on him. Hopefully he can take nice long naps on the drive, instead of yelling himself hoarse . . .
