Thread: Anyone starting 1 Jan. would like others to talk to???

    I'm baaaaaaccccccckkkkkkk!!!

    We had a blast!!! And oh, the reaction we all got for our weight loss! Priceless! In fact the sister we stayed with called my other sister the next morning before we got up and said, "You won't believe how much weight they have lost!!!"

    And here's the best part....we ate really good food, lots of protein, salads, eggs, etc and then went out a few times and had what we wanted. I found myself NOT WANTING the old stuff I would have eaten in the past. I was perfectly happy with the good stuff! My flourless cakes were a huge hit, too! Even those who don't have to worry about it, wanted the recipes!! So, this morning I found that I have only gained 2.2 pounds in 5 days of being on a vacation. My son only gained 2.5. Hubby hasn't weighed yet, but I think he held on too!

    I'm having a high protein day today and I bet the 2.2 will be gone by the weekend, and even then I'm only 1.5 over LDW do I technically don't have to do anything. But I really liked the 165 I reached and I want to hit 160 by June so I"m off to the races.


    I've been reading everyone's posts and it's good to see everyone is doing well. Keep the faith!

    Starting Round 4 to lose 15 pounds from course of Prednisone. Fingers crossed.

    Ok ate less yesterday not the best eating but less back at 140.4 this am. Woo Hoo

    Gemgirl - you are absolutely right. I needed to think about it differently. If I ain some weight just cut back a day or two and it will come right back off. No more saying cheat on the rest of your life P4. Time to think like skinny girls! haha

    Piffer - I did many a mini steak day on P2, no problem.

    Liffa - It feels good doesn't it !! The weight comes off so fast too when you gain a few.

    Well, I AM IN THE 130's!!! Whoa....I haven't been there in at least 12 yrs. maybe give or take a few. I did a mini "chicken day," yesterday as I didn't have time to eat and cook a steak since we had dinner plans somewhere. I can't believe I was down as I had to taste my sauce several times yesterday and it had sugar.

    My MIL had a Passover celebration and I had eaten some chicken strips before I went there and for the celebration I ate a couple bites of an apple salad, a hard boiled egg and a salad with balsalmic vinegar on it. I drank a lot of water and tea. I was so afraid to step on the scales this morning. The apple salad had some honey in it but since I only had a few bites I guess it wasn't too awful bad. It was fun being "Jewish" for the night. 8-)

    Liffa- don't you just love it??? That is so cool about your fam and being all excited about the new you. I will experience the same thing on Sunday when a few people in my fam come over for Easter dinner and they haven't seen me in awhile. That is great about your eating. I found myself feeling the same way when I was in P4 so I hope that will happen again. All the foods that I had craved for years were not a prob. Oh, where do I find the recipe for the flourless cake? 8-Q

    Dani- It still is hard to wrap my head around the word "skinny!" I am only 4.4 lbs away from my goal and that is what is really hard to believe! I am going to lose a few extra before P3 to help with the stabilizing. BTW, I see your goal is 125. How tall are you?

    Piffer, AZ, Peggys, Qwinne- still thinking about you all and wishing you well!

    Gotta go make some Italian cookies- UGH!!

    OK guys day 2 of loading for Round 3 for me -- and I am DOWN 2.4 lbs!! What is up with that?!? I lost more today than I did all last week! I am supposed to be loading!! How is that loading??? I'm not complaining, but worried that if I'm losing weight, I'm not getting enough fats to keep me from being hungry this first week of P2. My first round I didn't gain anything on load days, my second round I gained 4.2 lbs, so I guess I'll see what happens tomorrow with the scale. I'm on call this weekend and haven't been able to eat like I thought I should, and today I will be out all day again -- not sure if I should do 3 load days since I haven't been able to really load these two days? What does everyone think?

    Hey Peggy. My hubby lost when he loaded the first round and he was never hungry, BUT he showed a gain two days into hcg. So you might show it in a few days. Who knows what kind of strange biochemistry is going on when you first do this? lol. I wouldn't worry about it. If you have never been hungry on the other rounds, I bet you won't this time. I hope you have a great round. You have made so much progress, I know you must be really proud of yourself...if you aren't, then you SHOULD BE! lol

    I learned that sodium nitrates ain't great for my weight. Duh..."sodium" should be the tip off, right? I bought a ham on sale (it is delish!) but it wasn't from the health food store and of course it is full of sodium nitrate. I got so bloated yesterday I was about to panic. I thought I must have put on more weight than my scale was showing. My hanging-round-the-house pants were tight and I was miserable. But my rings weren't tight, I was only feeling it in my stomach. I was really worried. But this morning it was all gone, so it must have been the ham. We froze several single serving portions of it so I'm going to eat it with extreme caution, maybe only once every other month. It did the same thing to hubby. So far I've only been eating preservative free bacon from the health food store, and there have been absolutely no problems. It is amazing how much I'm learning about what clean eating will do for you, not that we ate horribly in the past, because we didn't. But, just one serving of ham with nitrates threw us for a loop. Wow.

    I would like everyone's opinion about something I'm thinking about doing....

    My doc and my husband's doc both do hcg with patients. My son has gotten about 6 people on Feisty's friend's drops (he needs to do a franchise, lol.) I'm thinking about creating an hcg support group at our community center. It has a kitchen and I would love to teach folks how to cook on p2 and p3. I thought maybe folks could just pitch in 5 bucks to cover the groceries, and then we could all sample the evening's dish. Has anyone had any experience with starting a support group or club? What do you think?

    Liffa -- a support group for HCG sounds like a great plan -- and teaching people how to cook for P2 and P3 is even better -- I'd come to your group if I was closer! Sharing recipes and helping each other out is what helps get lot of people through a situation -- especially when you're only eating 500 calories! You might put an ad in the paper or put up fliers at the doctors' offices for an informational meeting to see how many people are interested and then go from there.

    AFM: Up 1.8 today, after loading day 2. I think I will have one more loading day, and focus mainly on fats -- I'll take some olives and almonds to work and snack on them during the day and eat lunch at the Mexican place with lots of guacamole -- then finish off the ribs tonight and maybe make more guacamole with the avocado I bought Saturday to use in loading! Tomorrow will be my first VLCD then.

    Hello everyone! Easter is over! Most of the food is gone! It was a real tough weekend, but weird weight wise. Sat. I had gained 1.2 lbs and I will admit I did some tasting. Now yesterday is the weird day. I decided that I was going to eat and that eggplant parm was staring me right in the face along with the tiramisu! So....I ate them, along with some fruit salad, artichoke hearts, blah, blah, blah (yes, Liffa I ate about 3/4 of a choc. covered peep)! It was my first real big cheat ever on the HCG. My gut was so full when I went to bed, I felt SICK!

    I have heard the horror tales of people gaining 5 lbs in a cheat and I was sure that was me. Stepped on the scales and I was up 1.6 lbs. Went back to bed 3 hrs. later I stepped on them again and was down 1.6 lbs. I had not gained any weight from the cheat. I found that very odd but I was very happy! I have had that happen before with weighing later and getting a different weight. I was actually thinking about doing a mini steak day today, but I'm just going to go back to what I was doing before this holiday even started.

    The family members that hadn't seen me in awhile were really surprised at how much weight I had lost and that I was a redhead! It was so much fun!

    Peggys- Welcome aboard the P2 wagon! Hopefully, I won't be on it much longer as I really want some more food now! I'm going to stick it out until I am down to goal and a few under to play with.

    Liffa- Anything that has to do with teaching people how to eat better is a good thing! I know that I would have been lost without the support I get from everyone on this forum. I have a few friends who have started the HCG and to actually see each other and how good everyone looks is even more encouraging. I am all for support!

    Where did everybody go???? It's that busy time of year. Well, my gloating over no gain from my "cheat day" didn't last long. I was up 1.2 lbs yesterday but I ate clean the last 2 days and now I'm down 1.4 lbs somehow. I had thought about doing another mini steak day, but I've got to quit that! I'm back to being focused! I've got to get these last few pounds off so I can Move on!
    I'm (along with thousands of others) getting so sick of all this rain!!! We will be breaking the record (if we haven't already) for the most rain recorded ever for the month of April and I think that would be over the 9 inch mark. Some beg for rain, some beg for it to stop. Doesn't make sense, huh?
    Anyway, you all have a great "hump" day and I hope you are all doing well.

    Most every body left us Gemgirl -- but some of them pop back in occasionally. Some of them say they only check in on this thread because it's so small and easier to keep up with! I go on the Homeopathic Lounge thread too -- but that one is VERY chatty, usually 100 or more posts a day!CONGRATS on your loss today -- hang in there, eat clean, get back on track and keep losing!!

    AFM: I'm DOWN 3.8 today!!! Yesterday was my 1st VLCD -- I checked my weight last night and was down .2 for the day, so I knew I'd have a pretty good loss today -- but didn't expect nearly 4 lbs! I'm sitting in a training class all day today -- last time we were in training we had a large cookie sheet full of home baked cookies PLUS chocolate no bake cookies, my favorite! Today will be a challenge, but the 3.8 loss this morning will help keep my motivation up NOT to eat the cookies!!

    grrrr , only at 142 this am and it is Wednesday (usually at 140), I guess I cant eat bad 4-5 days and expect it to go right back down, haha.

    wow Peggy - that's an awesome loss!

    Gemgirl - you will get it back under control - Easter was tough.

    Gemgirl, I'm still here, too! I am also molding from all this dang rain! Unreal. Anybody know how to build an ark, 'cause we need one in Ohio!

    Dani, it's great that you are seeing patterns and cycles on your weight gain and can respond quickly. That's one of the best things I've gotten out of this experience.

    Peggy, WAY TO GO on VLCD1!!! How did you do at the training??


    AFM: I'm hanging in there and am within .4 of being my lowest of lowest weights which was just before the vacation.
    It took less than a week for the vacation weight to come right off. This is very encouraging.
