Hiya Shuly!! Good to hear from you! I'm sorry I'm not on here as much... I will be soon though. I'm doing another round starting the beginning of August. How's the weight? Have you been keeping it off easily? I bet you have! I hope your daughter is kicking volleyball butt! Yah.. I get the stress thing. We definitely need to work on NOT worrying so much. It's just... we're MOMs and I think it's somewhat instinctual. lol I WISH we were having the hot summer we usually have. It's been downright COLD here. I think it's only reached 80 like a couple days this year! It's usually in the 90s at this time of the year... I wanna go swimmin!! And the water is NOT warm enough to swim in! *pout*

Beenz - LOL no doubt! It's been an interesting ride! I think we're settling into a norm now though and we know better what to expect from one another. It was difficult at first though. Christian makes the bed! I figure why make it when I'm just going to mess it up again the next night? hee hee It is nice to have it made though! He's also been doing the dishes faithfully over the past few days. Yay! I don't have to cook and clean everything anymore! He's SO thorough when he cleans... it's just... WOW. Impressive. He's currently putting a new face on our office building. Cleaning places that no one's touched in 20 years... The yard is glorious. He certainly is consistent with the yard work. I really don't have anything negative to say currently. *SURPRISE* lol... We're just having a lovely little peaceful life together right now. I figure I'll enjoy it whilst it lasts! Oh ok... there is the fact that he doesn't seem to GET the whole if you're doing something for you, then why not do it for me at the same time thing. I'll fix dinner, put it on the table, with drinks and utensils. If there's a drink or utensil missing, he gets one for himself and forgets me, for example. What is that about? I mean geez.. is it just how men think? I always make sure he's taken care of with the little things and he just doesn't notice I guess. I mean, when I complain about a sore neck, then why not offer to rub it? That kinda thing... He takes care of me in other ways and is certainly more of a "provider/caregiver" then any other guy I've been with, so I shouldn't complain. But I do anyway... in my head. ha ha

Anyone got any bright ideas how to get my daughter and my new hubby to do the dishes before they're piled high and stinking? (not that I let them get that way....I think they KNOW I won't....ARGH). I thought about not cooking for them, but then they starve and/or eat crap. I also about lost it the other morning when my chicken was gone (the only P2 protein I had). If I don't cook, they eat MY FOOD. I'm sure you all know how I feel about MY FOOD these days. lol

I'm just no good at asking for help dang it. Why don't other people just notice what needs to be done and do it? I'm afraid down the road I could resent having to do all the cooking and cleaning. I make 75% the money for pete sake!! Someone else do that stuff. Where's my WIFE?

I must say (in Christian's defense) the yard is looking rather glorious this year... and the bed is always made which is a total surprise to me every time I go to the bedroom. lol

I've obviously been doing too much (still). This morning he got uppity because I hadn't made coffee. I'm sorry but WTH? Make yer own dam coffee.

NO worries. I'm happy...just working out the kinks. I don't want to emasculate the poor guy and I can turn into a real bossy beeatch, if you know what I mean.

Pardon all the French. I'm feeling a bit uppity myself this evening.
    Have a great weekend everybuddy!

This may not be the answer for you, but my one daughter and husband come home for holidays and will not lift a finger in the kitchen, so my friends family mentioned that they do a game out of it. They roll dice and if you get a 6 you get up and help do the dishes and releive someone else from doing the dishes. so when someone else gets a 6 they get up and relieve the other person. We do it when we have all the kids with 2 dice and it goes well and everyone helps - while the rest visit while rolling the dice. This may not work in an every day setting though! If my children need extra funds or rides - I just tell them that if they want my help they need to help me by keeping the house tidy - including doing dishes as it is a family affair to keep up with the house. They usually get what I am saying - especially when they want extra money to go to the movies and such with their friends.

The game is a great idea! I'll try that at our next family get-together (when there's more people and more of a mess). I got Alana to agree to put the dishes away yesterday and Christian washed them. Yay! Now if they'll just keep up the good work!

I have been struggling to get Josi and Dalin to do extra little choores around the house. Paid chores (they always have some chores that are just because they are part of a family and we all need to pitch in) to say the least they are doing lousy at it and I am feeling burned out! When you find the ideal solution you could sell it and make some good money!

LOL... good timing thomy! Tonight I simply said, I'm not making dinner if you don't do the dishes. And after dinner I said, "If you don't do the dishes, I won't cook for you anymore." It worked! hee hee So now I've got Alana putting them away and Christian doing them! YAY! I just hope I can keep this up... we need to make it a HABIT. muah ha ha haaaa

Hello my Spring Peeps ~ I spent the summer rather distracted...

Zami ~ how's the round? I am dreading updating my ticker, but better to be honest. I'm starting a new round on Tuesday. I don't know if it was the gall bladder surgery in March or just struggles to adopt new eating habits, but I did NOT stabilize at all after my third round, have gained 35 lbs over the summer and have to get it back off.

So happy to hear the good Honeymoon news and hoping Alana's fall semester is getting off to a swimmingly great start!

Beenz, you are so wise! How are things for you up north?

Will look forward to catching up with everyone, haven't even clicked on other threads yet....

Paendora - Yay! You're back! er... wait... um...sorry to hear about the gains though. I'm struggling this round. Big time. I just can't seem to get it together. I finally figured out my dose was too low day before yesterday and now I have a bladder/kidney situation. *sigh* I started taking antibiotics this morning and I PLAN to stick to the 500 calorie protocol today, but I didn't sleep well at all last night and I'm in a bit of pain. No fever yet, which is good anyway. Alana is off with her dad for the week. Christian and I are having some nice alone time. Tell me more! How's your love life? Did you get any boating in this summer?

I hope Beenz speaks up...I haven't seen hide nor hair of her for quite some time.

No boating. For one, we've had ALL your heat - another record breaking temp today. and drought. it's been a really tough summer. School kicked my rear this summer, and the fall semester isn't going to be much easier.

Luv Life? I LOVE life...me and my puppies get along great. It's the men who tend to cause problems...lol

I've been doing all sorts of pottery & craft projects...shopping now for a kiln.

And, while the gain isn't fun, my clothes sizes haven't gone up. I've been a solid month now going to the gym almost daily. My resting and exercising heart rate has gone down. I still need alot of toning. But the 35 pounds? I don't get it and I'm worried. I eat healthy, still with very little gluten or sugar...but the weight has crept back.

Gonna load over the holiday weekend and see what September brings. It's only round 4 for me, and I feel good and mentally ready to put food aside and focus on my classes! and work. and home. and boys. (my California kid is still doing great!) and dogs. that's alot of focusing for someone who's friends told her this past weekend is ADD...ACK!

Paendora- so sorry about your gains- that would be so discouraging! I hope you figure it out soon, I know my last 2 rounds I struggled with maintaining and was frustrated - I was so careful about what I ate and everything. This past round I did not lose much only 13lbs, but I stabelized great eating everything (bad stuff included - not sure how that happend), I was just too busy to care one weekend while away and when I got home and jumped on the scale I was shocked - as I was expecting a huge gain but notta! In other words I have no advise to give you, but to just relax a bit and enjoy the journery. After stabelizing well even with eating bad stuff I wonder if we just get all worked up trying to be perfect and the stress helps prevent us from stabelizing - not sure, but just a thought!

((Thomy)) Hope you are feeling better!

Yes, the stress mighta done it. I see lots of missteps, and own it...every last pound. However, I feel confident that I can get back to where I was and be better at maintaining.

Also caught a few posts of Grammy's about Leptin Reset and Jack Kruse...so I'm doing some reading! ( In addition to three text books and related assignments)

Susan - It sounds like you've certainly been keeping busy. The crafty stuff must be fun! What have you been making? Do we get to see photos? hmmm it sounds like something went wrong with your stabilization...maybe this round you'll stabilize better. I sure hope so! It's nice that your clothes sizes haven't gone up though and it sounds like you're taking care of yourself exercise-wise. Grats on your daily trip to the gym! Wow...I don't know that I would ever be that faithful. Huh? Yer what? You're not ADD... what's that about? So happy to hear your CA kid is doing great! The Leptin diet does sound good...it seems to simply be P3 diet put into rules really. We all already know that sticking to more protein and less gluten/starch is what's going to keep the weight down. I'm going to try it after this round. Grammy certainly seems to like it.
