    Tapatalk Users Please Read

We will most likely be disabling the Tapatalk option and would like to test the standard mobile theme that comes with the forum.

For those using Tapatalk, would you mind switching over to the mobile style of the forum and providing your input in this thread?

You will need to open up a web browser on your phone and navigate to the forum. If the forum does not already show the default mobile style, please scroll all the way down to the bottom and on the left hand side will be a dropdown box where you can choose a default mobile style.

    Ohhh, sad.

Tapatalk us much easier from my end. There are other forums that don't use Tapatalk and I find I don't /interact nearly as much.

    Thanks for asking.

My first feedback is "Oh crap!"

Not so happy, but I will give it a try. I usually access forums from my phone, and have not so far been happy with them outside tapatalk. I will try it, though. Maybe.

    When will tapatalk be disabled?

Well this is just to test it out, if we find out that everybody hates the default mobile style and prefers the use of Tapatalk I may be able to sway the forum owner into the continued use of Tapatalk

Ok, I have some feedback. Let me first say that Tapatalk is good, but I'm not in love with it. There are lots of features I could access from my PC on the full site that I cannot access on Tapatalk. So, it isn't so much that I want Tapatalk as it is that I want something that works really well on my phone, since that is how I access the forum 99% of the time.

Here is what is important to me:
    1 - easy login
    2 - easy navigation
3 - simple formatting, sized for phone
4 - remembering the threads I follow and post to, and where I am in them

    So...

I went to my browser and opened up the site and logged in. It gave me an error message, but let me in anyway. I believe it took me directly to the mobile version, because one of the links was for the full site.

The formatting was fine and well sized, but I couldn't find the threads I was interested in. I couldn't see how this was really optimized for mobile, so I followed the full site link.

Oh yes. The mobile version is definitely formatted better for the phone. Other than that, I couldn't really find any other advantages. I couldn't easily find the threads I was interested in.

I opened up a new browser page and logged in easily, but it automatically took me to the full site and I didn't see how to access the mobile site.

So i shut down the browser pages and started a new one. It took me right to the mobile site and logged me in easily. I could not find my threads without knowing where they were and searching for them. I finally found one, but it took me to the beginning of the thread, not where I was reading.

So, for my criteria, Tapatalk does everything I need it to and most of what I want it to. The only thing it is lacking is that I can't see signatures or the pictures people post in their profiles. I can see avatars and embedded pics, though. Seeing pictures in profiles would be really nice.

Back to my criteria, the mobile version gives me #1 and #3. Login is easy and formatting is good. I did not have #2, easy navigation, or #4, remembering my threads. I don't know if #4 would change if I were using the mobile site exclusively or not. I tried to test it, but the navigation problems made the task too difficult, so I gave up.

I also wondered if I would be able to see pictures better on mobile, but again, the navigation difficulty made the test too much of a pain, so I gave up.

So, here's my feedback after trying the mobile version: I am unlikely to use the mobile version. I do appreciate the forum owner making all this possible, and I have benefitted tremendously from this forum and its inhabitants. I won't say never, because I could go log on from a PC... That's just not likely to happen on a regular basis.

    Hope that helps.

I don't see how to see subscribed threads on the mobile site... or how to subscribe to others.

Yes, no problem with Tapatalk. Couldn't figure it out with the website mobile version. I probably wrote it wrong. I was trying different things and recording as I went.

Unfortunately Tapatalk or the default mobile style don't provide access to the Groups

For one day I tried to use the mobile forum to get a feel for the differences. I've been using tapatalk for this and a few other forums for quite some time now old habits due hard and I forgot to continue. Here are my thoughts...

    Tapatalk pros:
-easy to view new /unread threads. Eventually I found that option on the search feature of the mobile site but I prefer to just come in to the new threads.
-remembering where I left off in a thread. If I stop on page 200 of the questions thread, when I come back, I want to start on page 200, not 1 or the last page, for example.
-I like to see all threads from all forums at once, I couldn't figure out how to do this on the mobile site. When I'm just browsing I'd have to click through all the forums to see new posts.
    - faster loading than mobile site
    - I also really like the "participated in" feature of tapatalk so I can quickly see if there have been new responses in threads I've been active in.

Any one of these could be operator error

    Mobile site pros:
    - I like the bigger font
    - I like seeing signatures
