It's interesting to hear your weren't feeling well on it! I'm starting a round of hcg today was thinking about trying the LR instead of P3 afterwards because it's kind of hard work for me to maintain the hcg loss. Everything about me points to LR! Sorry, I didn't notice you posted that you stopped LR. Yes, I guess if you had the steak for breakfast, that might work. I've only learned about LR about a week ago when I started getting back on here getting ready to do a round, so I've been reading and reading here and on Dr. Kruse's site about it trying to decide. Did it just make you feel bad in general, or just after eating the huge breakfast? What to you think? Maybe you weren't leptin resistant to begin with? You look pretty young and must not have had a huge amount of weight to lose. And also, I'd be interested to know how Gedgedaus' eating differs from this?

Judge your successes by what you had to give up to get it.
    Starting wt 202
    LDW after 40 day Round 1 - 178.2
    LDW after 40 day Round 2 - 162.1
Gained back 18 lbs comfort eating through divorce!
Starting Round 3 at 180.2. 182.2 after loading.

I started out feeling great on it, but after 2 weeks I felt really miserable, couldn't sleep, was nauseated, and had headaches. I stopped and tried again when I felt better and the same thing happened. I think that it is too much protein for me because when I eat too much protein still, I get the same feeling. I thought that maybe I got LS in two weeks but the symptoms are not generally the LS symptoms so it is very confusing to me. I do try and keep the timing in between meals and before going to bed. Eating within half an hour of waking up is usually not easy so I am glad to not have to stick to that anymore.

    Round 1 ended 3/25 30
    Round 2 ended 6/27 26
    LDW 185.8

8/17 started high fat/adequate protein/low carb diet (nutritional ketosis):
    Starting weight: 185.4
    11/19 168.6

So is following this instead of say following an atkins type diet in P3?? Do you not follow this then through out your life or just the 3 weeks before P4?

Wow this is all so interesting on this thread to me. I have been on leptin reset for two weeks now, since I started P3, and I can't tell you " how Great I feel".
I have so much more energy and stamina throughout the day! I am glad I found this link and all the information about how to do it. I don't particulary like eating right after getting up - but it's not forever, just while doing the reset.

For those of you wondering - I have not had to do a correction day since I started the reset. I am always within a pound of my LIW so far.
I truly do believe it is working and when I am done with P3, I feel confident I will be able to maintain. I am planning on living the Primal lifestyle because it does just make good sense for me. I have found anytime I add grains and to many carbs I gain weight. I have had my blood work done and I am a meat eather by nature so maybe that is why " I feel so darn GOOD?" I'm not sure.
But good luck ladies and I'm loving it for one.

    R1P2 start - 173.0
    R1P2 LIW - 157.2
    TOTAL LOSS - 15.8

    R2P2 start = 159.0
    R2P2 LIW = 145.0

    R3P2 WEEK 1 = 151.0 - 143.0 ( -8.0 )
    R3P2 WEEK 2 = 143.0 (-0.0) I deserve that!

    R3P3 WEEK 4 = 141.0
    R3P2 RESTART = 145.0

    TOTAL LOSS =

Hi everyone, most of these posts are old so I don't know if anyone will reply. I am 56, after menopause I couldn't lose no matter what I did. I tried for 3 years. So out of desperation I did one round of HcG. I lost 18 pounds. I am now in my second week of phase 3. I'm supposed to raise my calories to 1500. I haven't made it to 1000 yet. After 500 calories it just seems like a lot of food. I'm staying away from starch & sugar. I haven't lost another ounce since going off HcG. I still have 20 lbs to lose. I am not doing another round. My question is will Leptin Reset help me to start losing again? Or maybe I'm just not eating enough (I'm trying). I'm happy I haven't gained any but I didn't want it to completely stop. ANY help or suggestions is appreciated!

You're not supposed to lose after hcg. In P3, you are supposed to maintain. Losing weight would be bad for your metabolism as it's gearing back up. Most women don't lose well on the leptin reset, I'm sorry to say.

It should only take a few days to build your calories up to 1500 or more. You do need to get your calories up soon...You can do that fairly easily without adding a lot of volume by increasing good fats like avocado, coconut oil, and fattier cuts of meat and fish (chicken thighs instead of chicken breast, salmon instead of white fish, bacon!)

That you both for the replies. Grammy are you saying I will not be able to lose much more unless I do HcG again? That would be very frustrating.

I'm saying you should NOT be losing in P3. read Pounds and Inches. P3 is when your hypothalamus is gearing up again. But the reality is also that most of us ended up doing hcg because nothing else worked. And that means for those of us in that group, we will continue to use hcg for weight loss because that's still all that works.

Yes I did read Pounds & Inches. My Dr. said it was OK to lose in phase 3, she also said to just add more of the same foods as in VLCD but no fat. I am doing 70-90 grams of fat per day as I think she's wrong about that. I'm ok with not losing in Phase 3 but with the low carb, no sugar diet that I'm eating, it just makes me wonder why I'm not losing & if I will again in phase 4. I also did a search and it seems people struggle to lose after they've done HcG either recently or later. I don't want that to be the case. Thanks for the replies.

Many many doctors don't understand the protocol very well. They put people on too high of a dose which results in hunger and poor losses. When you have hunger, the hcg isn't working right either and you are losing muscle. When that happens, then the metabolism is impacted. But hcg done correctly at the proper dose results in a better metabolism. But so many do it wrong because their doctor tells them to.
