    kaleein- if you can lose on paleo, i'd go for it. by the time you take off time for P3 and P4 i think you can lose pretty much the same amount of weight in a year (if you're losing about 2# a week)- plus feel better doing it. that's especially true now that you've done a few rounds, so your time off between rounds has to be longer. you've struggled with depression and low motivation in the past as well, haven't you? i always get more depressed on p2 and i know it's from a lack of fat in my diet. 25 years ago when i became horribly depressed, i had been on an extremely low-fat diet for about 6 mo.
    Thanks, Margie. I am feeling so much better with the added good fats and very low carbs! Additionally, I had actually "loaded" to begin a round 4 of HCG and gained 5 lb before I found Dr. Kruse's blogs on Leptin Resistance and his "Prescription" for resolving it. I decided that day (VLCD day 1, July 9) to stop HCG and go fully Paleo (without dairy, grains or much fruit ... most Paleo allows lots of fruit, but Dr. Kruse says not while regaining Leptin Sensitivity ). Within 2 days I'd dropped the 5 lb load PLUS 2 pounds. Not SURE if HCG was still in my system contributing, but I'll take it! And, yes, my depression is GONE. I'm honestly not sure if it's because I'm getting my thyroid balanced, the Paleo / Kruse "Prescription" or the SERRAPEPTASE I've been taking, but clearly the combination WORKS! I've also been able to go without pain meds for the past 48 hours, no pain waking me in the night. I can see the day I won't need my cane!! Clearly, this all has me on the right track (for the moment). We shall see how it all goes from here!

    This forum ROCKS with great health information!!! Yes, everyone needs to do their own research for their own issues, but it is absolutely AWESOME to find so many "jumping off" places to begin the research all on THIS one forum!!! When we talk about our own issues and our own discoveries ... we help so many others in their journeys!!
    From 376, lost some over 3 years ... Started HCG October 31, 2010 - Sept 30, 2011, - 53 lb with 4 rounds HCG protocol.
    Maintained w/ Paleo April 22 - June 1, when I started losing. Lost an additional 20 lb with Paleo eating between rounds.
    Back to Paleo 10-1-2011 @ 278
    100 lb GONE 10-13-2011

    with your exercising how much core work do you do? what keeps my waist in line has been pilates, not just a mat class but time with a trainer who can make sure I am doing thing properly.

    Started at 179 (5'3") June 5th 2010. Lost 40 pounds eating no sugar, flour, wheat, rice, or dairy, and eating 2 times a day breakfast and lunch. Stalled at 138 for 4 months then decided to do HCG.

    Kaleein - how much Serrapeptase are you taking and how often?? I just received some and I'm not sure how much I should take or how often,
    1X 2X or 3X/day? Thanks your so inspiring

    I do get a little enthused, don't I? Enthusiasm is catching.

    I went by what the guy at www.serrapeptase.info said, although I didn't get "his" serrapeptase. I did download the 34 page intro to his book though! VERY interesting testimonials, for anyone that believes those. (I'm usually a sucker for them, skeptical one but still... ) I take 3 90,000 IU capsules x 3 ... and always at least 1/2 hr before meals and sometimes a fourth dose before bed IF I'm not taking a bunch of other sleeping stuff (like last 2 nights). I just started my 3rd bottle and I really do feel it's working for a number of things. I HAD some nasty looking vericose veins on my right ankle due to many sprains over the years, I suspect. They are MUCH faded now. Only a few still lurking.

    Totally agree. I have learned so much from people on this forum and have been pointed to many places to do research. Definitely power in numbers!!!

    Here is what Dr Kruse had to say about IF in a response to a question on one of his blogs:

    "No one should IF until they become LS [leptin sensitive] first! That is critical to the success of IFing. Once you are LS I fully advocate IFing.... The reason it works is because it sensitizes the liver circadian’s clock to that of leptin centrally. In effect, it makes the liver an extreme furnace for fat burning. It optimizes all human UCP proteins. But it absolutely requires proper leptin function at all three levels…….brain, liver and muscle. It also works best when all diurnal clocks are congruent too. I have not gotten into diurnal clocks of organs yet but it is another sensitizer to the leptin system and very coupled to sleep."

    Kaleein, are you taking serrapeptase by itself or in a combo? Are you buying it from that site?

    I'm buying it from www.puritan.com as just serrapeptase. It's also available at Vitacost and probably other sites as well, but seem to get more for the money where I bought mine. (It is NOT inexpensive!)

    However, I do also take Turmeric for the curcumin, which this guy also recommends to be taken in combination with serrapeptase. I'd been taking that for about 4 months before I heard about serrapeptase. Started that with loading my meats with it and noticed a significant difference in pain level when I'd NOT use it for a day. So then I bought the turmeric capsules. I take 3 1000 mg of turmeric once a day with my other daily vitamin/mineral regimine. Serrapeptase I take all by itself well before I take my other stuff or eat.

    Aha! I didn't notice that ... must be the "plant origin" cellulose. Too bad. You'll have to check some out at other sites. I'm glad I was able to "clear" my wheat sensitivity ... and don't have celiacs. I need to check out other sites too, as I try hard to avoid soy, which is also in it ... frustrating!
