In one spot he also mentioned leaky gut. I suspect those who gain upon starting the leptin reset are reacting to all the eggs we have. He says if you have autoimmune issues you shouldn't eat eggs. So I think that may play a role too.

It won't hurt to try. I didn't gain or lose for 2 weeks and then started dropping 2-3 pounds a week.

I was pleasantly surprised. I ended my p4 10 pounds under ldw.

QUESTION FOR YOU DR. K (in case you did not see it on the other thread!)

So Dr. K., I am not in P3 yet.... still in the P2 protocol. BUT: do you think i would see better results and be able to get a head start on leptin reset if I ate a breakfast and dinner (@250 cals each) rather than the current lunch and dinner? so kind of combining HCG protocol and your protocol?

    thanks.

I just started leptin on Monday-my first day of P3. I eat a BAB every morning within 30-45 minutes of waking-a small steak with sliced fresh mushrooms cooked in salt free real butter...and 4 eggs with fresh spinach cooked in coconut oil. Lunch is usually a salad with canned tuna or sliced chicken on top with ACV. Dinner is fish or chicken and veggies. I try to do fish several days a week. 3.2 pounds since Monday lost. I hope it continues. I really like this way of eating. Have always been a meat and tater kind of gal-just have to do without my taters now. Starting another hcg round in a few weeks.

Lisa, you need some coconut oil. I cook my omelet in 2-3 T of coconut oil.

I'm interested in the egg connection. I've been reading everything he's written, but haven't come across the avoid-eggs-for-autoimmune-patients info yet. Do you have a link? Thanks!

No sorry. It's in the massive MDA thread. That's all he said.

maybe not just the eggs. People who plateau on HCG usually have profound gut issues with very low HDLs and low levels of Vitamin K2.

Interesting - I'm just learning. I have substantial autoimmune issues (since birth), but my K2 and HDL are good. I've always been very physically active, but just haven't been able to fight the pounds in the last 3 years. I do have celiacs, completely controlled by a strict diet, and no evidence that I can detect of a leaky gut. I have always eaten a whole-foods, no processed junk diet. I've not plateaued on hCG, but am moving into P3 soon and want to couple that with leptin reset. I'm hoping eggs will be a good choice - I'm very much a fan of those golden delights.

I'm not sure about the mirror test? You say to look in the mirror, but what are we looking for? Also, I have been a runner for 20 years, and answer yes to your questions at the end of the Why Is Oprah Still Obese blog post. Does this mean I'm not LR even tho I am 30+ pounds overweight? Is anaerobic sprinting acceptable exercise? Weights are out of the question with shoulder injuries.

I'm so sorry to run on and on, but your work is very provocative! Thank you so much for your input, and availability here. I'm grateful!

I totally agree with that, Doc! We often see people struggling to stabilize after hcg who are reacting to lots of foods because of their leaky gut. I used to be reactive to everything under the sun myself about ten years ago. That leaky gut is a horrible thing.
