The mirror test: look in the mirror and check to see if you are over weight. If you are, the odds are that you are LR.

i think i am LR, i was at 157 and i am a small-framed 5'4" woman. i was gaining easily before round 1, hungry all the time. i am 40, since my early 20s - i had recurrent yeast infections, cold sores almost every month right before TOM, and issues with itchy, dandruffy scalp, chronic fatigue, and almost all signs of adrenal fatigue. from my mid-20's to just a couple of years ago, my jobs were a living nightmare. right before TOM, I need like 12 hours of sleep. plus history of diabetes and heart disease on both sides.

no one ever diagnosed leaky gut, but its obvious now. a naturopath hinted at gluten and dairy intolerances and shoved hundreds of dollars-worth of supplements and herbs at me. some of the herbs i think made my gut even more inflamed. i would get bleeding hemorrhoids.

the kicker was 3 weeks into my first round - eating so little and CLEAN - no dairy, no gluten - i got a yeast infection from a couple TBS of balsamic vinegar. i knew then something was really really wrong.

i have not had my hormones or other panels done.... i just dread the medical community right now, and barely get myself in for a PAP once every 3 years or so. but i need to suck it up and go find someone who will be willing to read your site and educate themselves. i certainly am trying to educate myself.

I do have celiacs, completely controlled by a strict diet, and no evidence that I can detect of a leaky gut. I have always eaten a whole-foods, no processed junk diet. I've not plateaued on hCG, but am moving into P3 soon and want to couple that with leptin reset. I'm hoping eggs will be a good choice - I'm very much a fan of those golden delights.

I'm so sorry to run on and on, but your work is very provocative! Thank you so much for your input, and availability here. I'm grateful!
    Hi Scrapacat,

I am giving up eggs at this point after eating three/day for about six weeks--and really loving those 'golden delights,' but I'm having some strange issues going on and have since found various sources that indicate eggs are inflammatory and not recommended for autoimmune issues (which I have). Here's just one of them: http://www.msrc.co.uk/index.cfm/fuse...ow/pageid/3009

Just Google 'inflammatory and eggs' and you will find a bunch.

Another food I started to enjoy after P2 was Greek yogurt (FAGE) along with heavy cream (when using the 0% or 2%), but I am eliminating dairy, too. :-( Prior to the hCG protocol, I rarely used dairy anyway since I heard dairy is not recommended for PwMS.

    Best wishes.

Question for Dr. Kruse or for anybody who might have some insights -- I have been avoiding nightshades, despite the fact that I have about 10 gallons of tomatoes from my garden, as well as another two gallons of green peppers. Today, I made a big batch of tomato soup, as well as a batch of beanless chili to freeze, and I'm just wondering how big of an impact nightshades will have on my reset.

I'm currently maintaing my weight and have been experiencing signals of a reset. Just wondering if the sugars in the tomatoes and the inflammatory nature of nightshades is worth eating these things or not... Thoughts?

    ok question time.

I am starting to take Nature-Throid. so i have some questions on timing.

i currently wake and eat.... i am doing the leptin reset.

enter the naturethroid. which i was told to take on an empty stomach. how do you guys manage that collision of timing?
This is your last chance. After this, there is no turning back. You take the blue pill - the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe. You take the red pill - you stay in Wonderland and I show you how deep the rabbit-hole goes.

Quelsen, there is a honey badger on a billboard I sometimes pass. lol I always think of you when I see it.

I don't have noticeable problems when I eat nightshades.

But if I have too much dairy my sinuses swell and hurt and I gain. Even Fage makes me gain.

Take it at bedtime? Or immediately when you wake, before you fix breakfast? Gives it time to be absorbed.

I take my T3 first thing when I walk into the kitchen in the morning. Then I start making my BAB! I also take a dose at night before bed. Some people think it helps them sleep; others say it keeps 'em up. I do fine taking dividing it between morning and night instead of all in 1 dose. I read that the 1/2 life of it is pretty short so I thought I would benefit more if I divided my dose each day.

    3 things you can do:
    1) wake up around 5 and take it (and then go back to sleep), taking T3 at around 5 helps if your cortisol is lower in the morning, as naturethyroid has T3 it may also work
    see reference
    2) wait 1 hour after eating and then take the Naturethyroid
    3) take the naturethyroid sublingually, then timing for eating does not matter. (note this means you get a more intense energy burst, if you feel fast pulse, shaking hands then back off as it may be too much for your system)

J are you splitting your dose? ie if you are on 1 grain are you taking half in the morning and then half about 5 hours later?

I take my T3 (Cytomel) on an empty stomach, immediately upon rising, with a glass of water. Wait 15 or 20 minutes and start fixing BAB. Sometimes I take another one around 2 in the afternoon if I can remember and especially if I am feeling sluggish, foggy headed and achey. My endo said I could take it with food, but it's better on an empty stomach, and never with calcium which inhibits the absorption.

I take it immediately after getting out of bed. You need to chew up the pills, they have binders that can make them hard to dissolve. Then I eat about 30 min. later. It hasn't hurt my absorption at all.
