    Websites, blogs, resources for paleo/primal

I am hoping to have a "sticky" thread (hint, hint Colleen) that we can link to various blogs & resources. Please feel free to add to these!

Dr. Jack Kruse, "The Quilt" Neurosurgeon, author of the Leptin Reset protocol http://jackkruse.com/

Mark Sisson, "Mark's Daily Apple", author of The Primal Blueprint http://www.marksdailyapple.com/

Robb Wolf, "The Paleo Solution" http://robbwolf.com/ (read the book too!)

Dr. Chris Kresser, "The Healthy Skeptic", Medicine for the 21st Century http://chriskresser.com/beyondpaleo

Stephan Guyanet, "Whole Health Source", Neurobiologist, http://wholehealthsource.blogspot.com/ NOTE: Stephan has a link under his blog "Primal Docs" to a Paleo Physician Network, so those of us who are searching for doc who understands this lifestyle, check it out.

There are lots more, please share your favs!

Paleohacks great place for general research
Nomnompaleo great recipes, just the guacamole and bacon "sandy" on the splash page is worth it!!
primalmeded - medicine from a primal perspective
Archevore - Dr Kurt Harris paleo 2.0, what is very handy is his 12 steps to paleo
Denise Minger - I'm not sure if Denise's site is true paleo/primal but she is the person responsible for taking apart the China Study last year and exposing it for what it is which is a piece of cherry-picked, observational fluff! GREAT blog and offers good insight into a lot of contemporary nutrition topics

I thought this was a resources thread and not a discussion thread?

Lets please update the original post with any new added information and create a new thread for actual discussion.

MiniMe: That is an amazing site & those recipes on ChowStalker might even motivate me to cook. If there is a link on there to keep a daily log of my food that will calculate my Protein, Fat, & Carb percentages, though, I am not seeing it.

Steveo: Of Course You Do!!! It seems both you & your Sweetio are adventuresome cooks...me not so much. :0

I so agree about the header on ChowStalker...got a chuckle out of me, an especially pleasant one as I have no desire for one. Not craving such things has been an amazing thing for me because in R1P2, I was planning the things I was going to have from a large tin of Godiva Biscuits to Sprinkles Cupcakes to Red Velvet Cake w Cream Cheese Frosting and by the time I got to P4, I had been clean so long that I had no desire for such foods. I did have a few bites of a piece of Peanut Butter Chocolate Cake in the phenomenal dining room at College of the Ozarks, aka Work U and while it was delicious and not overly sweet as I expected, The pork chop dish I had just had was over-the-top delicious. What a change in food tastes for me.

BTW: Do you use any of the food log websites that calculate the P/F/C? I figure the grams for my P/C but too lazy to do the food percentages...

And THX MiniMe for posting the primaldocs link

hahaha... yeah we are adventurous... I am more than her, I kind of push her out of the box sometimes, and it doesn't always work. In the old days I was a guide for a lot of years, so I have lots of cooking under my belt -- all outdoor cooking though.

I know what you mean about tastes changing. I used to be a big desert eater, I mean BIG... literally! LOL I can look at all the foo foo foods and go pfft, now. I watch ppl eat them and it does not phase me. I have not really cheated now for several months, but before when I did cheat, it was always disappointing... nothing like I remember it tasting.

I use fitday.com to record daily calorie, protein, fats, carbs... etc. I don't do it everyday... only when I have a question about what I am eating. We have noticed that some of the stats run a little low on the meats, so you might want to keep that in mind. For instance, I was using it at first to make sure my BAB was ok, and we found that the protein they were reporting was low in comparison to other lists, so I had to amp up my protein intake a little.

lol, that reminds me of my little brother's specialty: Meat Twinkie. It's basically a meatloaf rolled around some cheese filling, and then just before done cooking, frosted with mashed potatoes.
