Thumbs up Tornadoldy is back for Round 2

I'm back for Round 2. In the 5 weeks since my last round, I gained 5 pounds and a few inches. All in all not a bad interval. I felt myself falling back into some nasty suger/carb habits towards the end with ice cream, donuts, wine and fannymae butter creams. I felt crappy towards the end and had some intestinal issues from the carb overload. Good lesson though, because I am getting a better idea of what I need to stay away from. Wheat-wheat-wheat. Need I say more?

Before I started this round, I went to a naturalistic MD and had a full panel blood work done and am waiting for the results, Vit-D, hormones, thyroid [all the T's]. I took my spreadsheet of foods, weight, etc with me from my first round. He took one look at it, looked at me and said "Impressive" that you had the discipline to do this. Perhaps your weight problem is too many carbs? Then he hit me with the reality I didn't want to admit - maybe you should think about reducing your total carb intake to 10 grams a day? Well, I really need to digest that one. I looked at him and said "What exactly do I eat?" His reply was, lets wait until we get the test back and go from there.

I'm only doing a short round this time. I felt myself getting pretty mentally exhausted at the end of the six weeks last time. I expect to learn to create some better eating habits long term and am having to learn to let go of foods that are harmful for me and my body doesn't like. OK my brain likes them but my intestines don't. From a psychological standpoint, food is such an emotionally charged thing. Our brains are wired to associated comfort and satisfaction from foods (mine is chicken and dumplings) and boy was that a hard lesson. I had some really bad intestinal events from that that took me by surprise - and gained 5 pounds from it. I did lose the 5 pounds after a week, but I felt so crappy afterwards that I think I just may have to think happy thoughts of my grandmother's dumplings without actually eating them. Good news, My potato chip craving is gone though.

So for all of you first time HGC'ers, it does get better. Go with the flow, easy does it. Food is good for fuel, get emotional comfort from the FUTURE new body and HEALTH you will be gaining. Listen to your body and the process of recovery will be much more satisfying. That's my number one lesson I learned.

...now I have to make peace with exercise. I will go kicking and screaming with a major tantrum in play - but I will do it. Have a successful day to all -
    R1P2D1 196 lbs
    R1LIW 177.4 (-18.6 Lbs/13 Inches lost)

    Happy Monday

I hope all of you are doing well losing. I had my first measurements this weekend and lost a total of 5 pounds and 5 inches. Is it too soon to say I cant wait until P3 and P4 until I start seeing real inches? Oh yeah, and lets not forget the fact that we can finally EAT real food!
Saturday was the first day I had real energy then it tanked on Sunday so of course I was on the boards looking for answers as to WHY. Well….to explain the hunger last week (Cravings really) and the fatigue, TOM showed up this morning. Last night I couldn’t eat at all….. Today was not too hungry either so don’t kill me but I went rouge and had a Jay Robb shake for lunch. Ive never done that in prior rounds so I hope it doesn’t come back to bite me.

Lala- Im very proud of you for having to sit through that table…especially the wine. Oh how I miss my friend wine. Im not sure what Im detoxing more carbs or wine? lol

Liz- I hope you figured out the lunch situation

Tornado-Welcome back. My first round was a HUGE learning experience for me. In fact, the main reason for my doing this round years later is because I too fell off the eating clean wagon. I am so amazed at how food effects our bodies and the impact certain foods have and the ultimate toll they take on it. Your going to do awesome because your head is in the game…good luck to you.

Later guys- have a great rest of your day

Mom- I love wine, too! Five inches is impressive! I bet you're feeling it in your clothing. I couldn't tell from your post, did you say you actually lose more during P3 and P4 than you do in P2?

Liz- I make homemade beef jerry I bring with when I teach or to my business. It's an easy go to lunch or dinner when I'm swamped. As for yesterday, I wish I was on the boards then. I would've skipped lunch, grabbed an orange and apple when I got off work. We don't eat double portions at one meal. How did it turn out for you?

Torn- Welcome. Round 2 here you go! How much weight did you lose in round 1? I would really dislike eating low carb for very long. I hope you have an excellent short round this time!

Candle- Has the weakNess and dizziness stopped?

Naturally- How's your crankiness? Are you feeling better?

Jade- How are your meals coming along?

Mama- What happened with your plan? Did you decide to order injections and on those now? I sure hope you're doing alright. I am not hungry on hcg, but I s have cravings and foods still look tasty.

I've only lost 0.8 pounds since my last weigh on Friday. It's weird how we have big losses a few days and then nothing for a few days. I'm down 16.2 total. I'm feeling good about that loss.

Yesterday, I was caught without my hcg injection. I left home at about 5:30 am and didn't get home until nearly 9 pm. I skip once a week, so I ended up just skipping it yesterday instead of skipping it this Wednesday. Darn it, but life goes on.

May 2016 Loaders - Summer Preppers

Hello! So nice to sit and catch up on you all! I guess we all made it through Mother's Day! I am still taking the tablets and am cutting them in half now. Today I am better than I have been the whole time. I'm not opposed to ordering injections but it's just hard to spend more than I already have! I think I was getting WAY too much! Leez helped me over on another thread with someone who was having the same issues. The biggest problem is cutting the tabs and getting the same amount every day. They are really hard to cut! I have a call into new edge health and ask if there is some guarantee and could have a credit that I could put towards ordering injections. I'm down 8.4 (VLCD 9) from my load weight. How do you count that? Do I count the 2 lbs I gained loading? I know there is an acronym that people use for that.

Thanks for the love and support!

Hey everyone! I'm down 5 pounds. I don't have a ton to lose so I'm ok with that. Back when I had 100+ pounds to lose I'd have really big losses my first week. Now that I only have a small amount it comes off slower.

I've been studying everything I can about maintenance so I don't gain this last 20 pounds back again. It seems like a lot of people have to be more care the first 6 weeks after VLCD and maybe even longer. Avoiding oils, dairy, etc. and slowly adding calories back in instead of just eating like normal. I'm hopeful that this will be the last time I lose this same 20!! LOL!

Mamatoyoyo, yes you count the 2 pounds that you gained on load days.

    How are you all doing?

I stayed at my bf's house, so no weigh in today. I may need to transport my scale during p3 and p4. What a pain in the butt!

Katie- I use the weight I was on the first load day with my first injection, however the book says to use the weight we are on our first very low calorie day.

Lisa- What did you do in p3 and p4 to maintain your weight loss?

I'm feeling down a little... I weighed myself to find I'm up in weight. I weigh the same as I did last Thursday one week ago. I really am feeling thinner since I began this protocol, however I'm a bit bummed out today. Im sure I will have a nice drop in the next few days.

I may pack my scale for the weekend, since I'll be at my bfs place. We both work all weekend. I work about 19 hours Friday, 13 hours Saturday, and only 7 hours Sunday. Work is filled with temptation... food and alcohol... and I pour and prepare it all. Since I own the business, I can drink or eat anything anytime. This surely is part of why I gained so much weight. Packing food is key for me in the future.

Lala-That must be hard! I got my kids a pizza last night and even though I haven't eaten (gluten) pizza in years it was so hard! Yes on the scale! Haul it with you!

Cheer-I too don't have a lot to loose. (30 lbs) so it's a little sad to not have the big numbers! My partner just started and he has like 5 lb days. I'm also reading everything I can about maintaining!

I'm on day 3 of a stall...grrrrr.....I know it happens but it's such a bummer. I'm sticking to everything though I'm only having one fruit. When I went though the days where I was hungry I added in the Melba, which is tricky because I don't eat gluten. It seems to be fine at this point. Maybe I should cut them out again. I am doing a 30 day workout challenge as well which has been fun. It's 15 minutes a day and I'm sore! (It's Betty Rocker) I like using HCG as a spring board to start good habits. Tomorrow I don't want to see 159.4 on the scale again! Stale be gone!

Morning all! I'm hanging in there. I decided this round not to weigh every day because it can be so depressing when you're totally on plan and either stall or gain. Ugggg! Well, I decided to weigh today for some strange reason and I've gained!

lala, I've really struggled to maintain. LOTS of correction days! Also, I don't eat much of anything besides meat, veggies, and a little fruit. Not fun! What I've been reading is that most people don't stabilize unless they either gradually up their calories on P3 by 100 calorie increments or increase to 900 calories for a few days and as long as you don't gain then increase to 900-1100. Then, if you gain, drop back to 900. Also, track your calories for 6 months after your round. And, no oils or butter or certain other foods for the first 3-6+ weeks of p3. I'm giving it a try this time.
Mama, I know! It's so unfair how fast guys lose!

Lisa and Katie- gains and stalls stink! I'm the exact same weight I was last Thursday! We know if we keep at it the weight and fat will be lost. Hang in there, ladies!

I sure hope to get support on p3 and p4. I can do well being told what to eat on p2, but I know my struggle will be p3 and p4.

I am not sure if I'm going to do a long round or cut this one off after my first bottle of hcg is gone. I ordered two bottles, so I can mix the second bottle for this round or save it for another round maybe for summer or fall. Do any of you have an end date in mind or just playing it as it goes?

I am getting ready to start a round as soon as my drops arrive (just ordered them today) and would love to share the journey with others. Would it be okay if I join your group?
