    May 2018 Loaders - On a mission

    Welcome, May 2018 loaders!

This is your thread. Use it to plan your round with others preparing to do the same. Ask questions, voice concerns, seek advice and companionship here, or just a place to log your progress and stay accountable. The best kind of support comes from those going through this with you, but I will be checking in to help with any problems or questions. Some other HCG veterans may stop in to share a bit of their wisdom as well.

Sometimes these loader threads go on to become a little group of their own, but you can also use it for a jumping off point as you become familiar with the other ongoing group threads and find your "peeps".

All the best as you embark on this very exciting HCG journey. What makes it even more exciting is that if your follow the protocol, you can be reasonably sure you will succeed. I'm sure everyone posting here will be on some kind of personal mission, health quest, or have an event they are looking forward too. We can all help encourage you on.

Hello, I start loading tomorrow 4/16/18. I am excited and can’t wait to see results. One question, can I still take my vitamins and fiber?

Welcome LaniKai! I don't know about the fiber, but many of us still take our vitamins. It is good to check the label for sugars though. Mine doesn't have any. Also, be sure to count calories from ANY supplements in your total calories for the day.

    Hi LaniKai, and welcome.

Residue in Phase 2 is very low because we are eating so little. That means fiber supplements can tend to back you up. Most find it better to use magnesium supplementation. If yours is a stubborn case, you might need more magnesium than others, and big doses of Vitamin C are helpful as well. But once your find your level, you should no longer have any of this very common constipation protocol side effect.

You can take the magnesium in a drink like Natural Calm, or use supplement capsules. Either is fine. Daily magnesium will also help keep your electrolytes in balance and if you take it before bed, can even help you sleep. (insomnia is another very common side effect of the diet)

Have a wonderful time loading. Don't forget that you start taking the HCG the same day you start loading.

    I'm in for May 2018!

I'm loading this weekend! I did a couple rounds 6 years ago and had a lot of success (lost 40 lbs) but about 2 years ago I hit menopause and it has been very unkind with my weight. I'm here to see if I can be success on HcG as a post menopausal woman. Fingers crossed!!! Looking forward to finding my peeps to support along the way.

Join the club, Georgia Grace. Don't you hate it that no one told you it would be like this? The worst thing for me (other than the gaining) is the disrupted sleep. I'm going into year 9 of hot flashes that wake me up all night.

Menopause messes with just about everything in your life. But I'm a testimony that there is still hope with HCG. All my rounds were done in menopause. I'll be one of your balcony people, cheering you on.

I'll be loading this weekend also for R2, excited and ready to get started! I began R1 at the end of February 2018 and have maintained my weight loss throughout 3 weeks of P3 and almost 6 weeks of P4 (1.6 lbs above LIW). I'll pick up my HCG from the pharmacy this afternoon (nasal spray) and prep my foods this weekend. I didn't cheat once in R1 and am just as focused as I start R2, hopefully it won't be as challenging as some say their R2's have been. I will make a conscious effort to "eat enough" though as my typical calories in R1 P2 averaged around 350-400 a day. Good luck to everyone and thanks for this forum, not sure I would have attempted this "diet" had it not been for all of the information/motivation/advice I found her prior to starting!

Why is it such a secret?!

Leez, thanks for the welcome! Why don't we as women talk more about the joys of menopause?!?! I've thought about that a lot and have never come up with a solid answer. One explanation is that I think aging in general is an uncomfortable topic for women and then to have to explain to our younger sisters that, yes, is a two edged sword - there's something awesome about the level of wisdom and self-acceptance that comes with hitting 50ish but we also experience our bodies being uncooperative in ways we didn't experience before. Its such a mixed bag!

Anyway, I'm excited to be here and really appreciate your support! Yesterday was my first day loading and only gained a pound even though I ate like a wild woman. Today I'm going to concentrate on proteins and high fats. Need to go shopping for the week ahead later today.

    Hugs,
    GG

Hi Janet! I'm so happy to hear that your first round was such a success. Maybe you'll have some words of wisdom for this semi-newbie.

Great report from your first loading day, GG. A normal load gain is 1-3 pounds, so you are right on track. Its nice not to gain anything on load, but in the times that has happened for me, my first week losses were still about the same. So you might as well really enjoy the load knowing it will drop of after the first day or so. I've always lost my whole load, and sometimes plus some after the first low-calorie day.

Welcome back, Janet! I remember you from February. I have been on round 2 (since 2011/2012) for almost 4 weeks, but am kinda just getting into gear on the weight loss as I've been having some medical issues that have interfered. I am using hhcg, so am comfortable with a very long round. I plan to go until around Memorial Day...haven't set a firm date yet.
