May 2019 Loaders - Workin' the plan

Welcome, May loaders! This is your thread.

Use it to gather with others starting their rounds in May for support, encouragement and accountability. Plan your upcoming round, ask questions, voice concerns. We are all here for each other, and will support your efforts.

I'll be popping in to address questions or concerns. Please note that any input I offer will be based on the original protocol. If you are following one of the many variations, it still can be helpful to know the baseline guidance of the original protocol so that you can make decisions on your variation with that knowlege base.

Wishing you all the best for a successful round.

My recent HCG round was with DietDoc. Our site owner has generously arranged for me to earn a small fee if you use my DietDoc or Nu Image Medical link to order your Hcg and supplies. OK Lets do this! I finish loading today and April 29th is Day 1 VLCD. So essentially I'll be a May Loser I just spent some time in meditation asking Spirit what I need to be able to successfully complete this round. In addition to some wonderful daily self care, I felt I was being guided to get back on this forum and participate EVERY DAY. I was very successful 5 years ago doing HCG, i was able to get to my goal and I loved this forum! So I am making an effort to get on here every day and learn from everyone and support you on your journey. We can do it!

This is day 3 VLCD for me. I lost 22 lbs on my last round and I have 30 lbs to go. I would love to loose at least 25 lbs this round. My family and I are celebrating in July my niece finishing her medical school training as a GYN-OBGYN doctor on a trip to the Bahamas. I am currently weighing 166 lbs.

I am about to order my very first kit of HCG and plan to begin loading on May 17. I'm excited and a little anxious...but mostly excited. I certainly fit the common profile of having tried many things with little success. In my case, I gained 70 pounds with menopause and have had no luck losing weight, or losing at a snail's pace of 1/2 pound per week while eating very restricted diets. So, excited to be here and looking forward to hearing more of everyone's journeys and drawing wisdom from your experience and insights.

Leez, I recall reading something you wrote--could have been posted awhile back, I've been reading up a storm--that you sometimes have problems with poor sleep. This is a major issue for me--I frequently get only 5-6 hours/night despite doing all the things one is supposed to do (cool dark room, early bedtime, no electronics, etc). How does HCG affect your sleep? I've read several people mention better sleep but I also am a little concerned about the various add-ons, especially the lipo. Is there any common response or is this another case of YMMV? Thanks for any input.

Unfortunately, insomnia or poor sleep is a common side effect of the HCG protocol. You just have to find a way to do the best you can, and it is important because good sleep is integral to weight loss.

My sleep has been poor for 10 years because of menopause changes. But the best round for sleep I have done was the one from DietDoc using the HCG that is mixed with theanine. My sleep quality on that round was as good as it is when not on HCG. So taking 200mg theanine at night could possibly give you a similar benefit. I also take magnesium at night, which helps the body relax.

Lipotropics do increase energy for some, and if the effect is strong, could interfere with sleep. I did not personally find that lipo energized me at all.

There is no dose difference according to age (or weight, gender, build or activity for that matter). Most people do well on a starting dose of 125iu-150iu.

I think you'll be amazed at the lack of hunger and also that you feel good even though eating so few calories.

I'm one of the "lucky ones" when it comes to sleep on hcg. i was always so sleepy during a round that I had to take a mid-day one hour nap, and then couldn't keep my eyes open much past 10 pm. This is definitely due to the hcg, since without it I'm a night owl who is up til midnight every night (and i still work). I still usually average about 7 hours of sleep per night.

I also don't have any sleep issues except to wake up and pee from all the water intake haha. I actually am sleeping better than I was pre-HCG and I really, really used to struggle. On week days I also only get about 5-6 hours of sleep because of my job. I will say, the first 2 days of phase 2 I was zombie-like tired in the AM for like an hour or two. But that is most likely a combination of detoxing and coffee withdrawals.

Thanks to everyone for responses to my concerns about sleep. Just starting R1P2 (D1) ... so off to the races! One headscratcher so far... at start of Loading I weighed 194.4 and this morning, after 2 days of very rich food (but little sugar), I was down 0.2 lbs. Not the way I expected to start off but I can't imagine that I could have eaten any more!

Diet Doc advised starting with 175 IU dose, but I've decided to go with 150 IU and work from there. I am taking this week off work and will probably use it to finally withdraw from coffee (not a tea drinker and coffee without cream is unappealing). I'd already cut down to 1 cup per day, so I don't think this will be too onerous. Anyway, that should help my sleep if nothing else does!
