P2D26: up .2. 189.4. Whatever. I've been thinking since yesterday about a planned interruption.

Out of curiosity, Leez, do you or anyone else have any thoughts on whether the higher weight loss in the first two weeks vs. the 2nd two could be related to natural ups and downs of how we gain during our monthly cycle? I know several women here are past all that, but for those of us still in the throes, I'm wondering if cycling might be good to maximize the losses normally seen in the first 2.5 weeks of the month, then skip P3 after the ovulation week through the first several days of the period week, and then start again. Could just be correlation, but I'm curious if that would be a way to work with my body's natural times of loss, rather than fighting against it during times when it "needs" to hold onto a couple of pounds of water before letting it go on its own. Does that make any sense?

1234, in the early days of a round, I used to get exhausted doing my normal walk. The metabolism takes a few days to adjust to fat-burning instead of carb-burning. Also, your need for salt increases because along with fat-burning, the body excretes more salt. Lack of sodium can cause fuzzy thinking, dizziness, constipation and headaches. (I don't generally have these problems anymore since I switched to a ketogenic diet years ago.) Also: I think it's pretty normal for humans to go up and down a few pounds with the seasons. I like to do a round in the fall, ahead of winter laziness. But if your weight gain is more than that, I suggest you re-evaluate your diet as you may be consuming more carbs than your metabolism can tolerate.

JennyV, I quit weighing daily. I weigh weekly and I'm grateful for every pound. I have never lost more than 15 lbs in a round.
I do like a PI, it seems to keep me in the game and able to tolerate the boring low diet better in the final stretch.

I was just thinking... we have to do a minimum of 23, max of 46. Why not do 2-23's during the weeks when my body is most amenable to losses, and do P3 to stay stable the two weeks in the middle when I am most prone to gaining/not losing?

Because the max is 40 dose days, not 46. You could achieve 46 days by doing weekly skip days, though.

You might get away with 46 dose days with hhcg. It would be an experiment.

Incidentally, that is exactly the pattern of this most recent round. I am way past menopause. Most losses the first 2 weeks. Second two weeks, lost 1 pound per week.

I think that is where the 46 number in my head came from: I was thinking about the original drops dosing way back when (not homeopathic drops) and having to do skip days which ended up making it 46. I know it would be an experiment. I feel like I have been kinda off the map this round with all the hormone fluctuations anyway. Worst case, I don't see any difference. Best case, I don't suffer needlessly and can eat when I need the extra calories and can maximize losses when my body isn't trying harder to hold onto it.

It sounds like it is worth a try. The benefit of using hhcg in this case is that you would not be in danger of developing immunity.

That's what I was thinking. On a side note, I finally got out some of my size 14s I've not been able to wear in the past year (even the 16s had gotten snug). They fit beautifully. SO now I have khaki shorts and all kinds of cute Talbots floral/colored crop pants I can wear this summer while I'm working my way down! That in itself is super hopeful and motivating!

That's awesome. It feels SO good to get into your next size down. For me, it feeks like tangible freedom from that feeling of doom that settles over you when you have been slowly gaining for a long time.

Up .2 again today. Sigh. I know it's water, but I'm not sure if it's hormones or if it's allergies. Or both. Or something else. We've had so much rain, and I'm pretty sure I have a mold allergy. They've also been cutting hay where I am this week since the rain stopped. In the past few years, it's gotten bad enough that I have come to understand why they call it hay fever. The LDN has definitely taken my allergies back down a few notches, but I am still stuffy and breathing has been more labored this week. I need to be at least 30lbs lighter to handle being outside in the Georgia summer heat+humidity! Alright. That's the extent of my complaining. Onward!

Edited to add: for some needed perspective, I measured. Since I started, I am down 1" in the bust, 3" in the waist, 2" in my hips, 1" in my upper arm, and 2" in my thigh. So it's slowly moving.

I'm a bit above my window today. But there is something gastric going on that is probably causing some inflammation, so I'm just going to stay simple and high protein today and see if it resolves.

Allergies are miserable. I react violently to leaf mold, so I know how awful that can be. I hope you feel better soon.

Sounds like everyone might have allergy issues going on… including me. Had extreme heat at outdoor event in okc this past weekend and winds with dust and pollen everywhere. Made it home Tuesday at 6 pm and except for high winds we missed all the storms that his Dallas and Houston. God is soooo good!

Hadn’t planned to weigh till Sat to give my body a chance to recoup but weighed today. 147.8 so up but not bad. i’m in P4 but mainly following P3 eating except a few days here and there P4.

Sounds like everyone is stabilizing …. Jenny Hang in There. i do a couple short rounds with maybe a couple months between. i seem to get bored and tired now if round is long yielding little reward. i think a PI will help motivate you and you might lose a lb or two anyway.
