Its Friday already??? Unbelievable when working 12+ hours time flies...
This morning I was down another 2.0 pounds for a total of 11.7lbs.

I'm on protocol, eating mainly chicken/turkey, and tomatoes/cucumbers. Using freshly ground pepper corns and Braggs Liquid Aminos to flavor.
For those of you who are not familiar with Braggs Liquid Aminos, its sold at most grocery stores. Here in Michigan I buy it at Kroger. It costs about $4.50 for a 16 oz bottle. It taste much like soy sauce, but with a little more zip, kind of a salty taste, but I don't believe there is in salt in it. Best of all it has ZERO calories. It makes eating cucumbers possible.

    Cheers!

Great news fulcrum--your losses are super, and finding things that work for you make the whole process less painful. I always found that cooking things fresh and cracking pepper and pink salt on my foods increased the enjoyment a lot.

However, just a note for those wishing to stay totally on the original protocol. Turkey and soy products like Braggs are not on protocol. Though they may work for some, others will find that they stall their progress. Soy in particular is a hormone disrupter, so proceed at your own risk.

Thank you Karen! Yes this is my first time on this diet and I am very excited to see results! I love seeing and hearing about everyone else's success. It helps motivate me even more! Congrats to girlsgottalose! That is AMAZING! I hope to do that some day.

    Leez,

I didn't know that turkey was off protocoal. I have a pdf file that I downloaded from another site that listed it as an allowable meat. I buy 99% fat free ground turkey from my local Kroger grocery store. I used it even in my 1st round.

Oh well, then I guess I'm off protocol.

Is there a quick list here at this forum of the foods allowed, perhaps there are other foods I'm not aware of.

    Cheers!

Over the years, various clinics and sites have altered the protocol, so you always have to go back to the source. The original protocol manuscript is available via link in the blue menu bar at the top of the forums.

Its easy to find things in it using your browser search (Control+F)

The allowed foods list is on this page:

    http://hcgdietinfo.com/hCG-Diet-Manu...alories-44.htm

Turkey in particular has proven to be problematic for a number of people. Dr. Simeons was pretty clear that he had tested all kinds of things and the list that remains for us are the options that worked best with the protocol.

Since you've done well with turkey, it is certainly up to you to choose to continue with it.

    Happy Weekend ALL,

VLCD#3 for me and has so far been much easier than my previous round!! I'm not that hungry this time around and have no clue if it's because I loaded better or if I'm just more confident that I can see the process through. My advice for the 1st timers is to relax, stay on protocol, drink the water that is recommended, and take each day at a time. HCG works and everyone's body plays out differently. The BIGGEST factor of all............stay on protocol strictly. (although I've found a can of tuna in water with mustard works for me......not sure THAT it's on original protocol but my clinic allows it). I cook a lot of veggies/proteins in low sodium broth too.

Liz55--welcome and enjoy your load. concentrate on "good" fats. I did that this time and not having much issues with hunger.

girlsgottalose-- WOW!! Keep the good news coming, it encourages us all. I can wait for you to break that barrier..........soon!!!

1sttimeonhcg-- I'm not all that hungry and hopefully that means I have the correct dosage. I AM however........"grumpy" between 6-7pm. I'm going to need to prepare my families meals prior to the grumpy hour!!! They had chick filet last night because I didn't prepare in any way for their food/meal. So, not only do I need to pre-plan for myself....but, also my boys. (hubby and 19 y/o son that is living at home while attending local university). And yea, they ARE both old enough to manage on their own!

Fulcrum-- I admire your ability to work a 12 hour shift and stay strong mentally. Try cooking in the low sodium/no calorie broths......(i guess that isn't on protocol either)!!!!!!! I've found that I was fairly sensitive to sodium last time.

YIKES! Forgot to mention I was down 1.4 lbs. this morning. I was a bit surprised and don't expect to continue losing over a pound per day because this is my 2nd round and after the first 10 pounds I'll be moving into a weight I haven't see in many, many years. So, I'll have to sit back and cheer ya'll on while I eekkk.....those last difficult pounds off. (and, not sure if they will even come off). But, maybe my journey will help someone that is in same situation.

Weekend words..................EAT INTENTIONALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and drink all the recommended water). KMac

Today is my last load day! I am so ready to start phase 2 and start losing weight! :-) Have fun loading takingcharge! KMac, I am definitely trying to focus on good fats, hopefully it helps! :-)

Liz55, it totally well! I ate all kinds of stuff that I never eat the first time I loaded. (fast food burgers, milkshakes etc......). This time I had eggs/bacon, homemade burgers, lots of avocados, salmon, cheese etc......There was a big difference in my hunger the first few days for sure. I don't know WHY loading on fats is better than loading on carbs.......there is a reason I'm sure. Have a great last day of indulging!! KMac

Hi All, How is everyone doing? I'm VLCD #5 and down 6.5 lbs. It's so much easier this 2nd time around. I'm not really all that hungry and finding it challenging to decide "when" to eat. I'm not hungry until noon. I'm heading to get my Lipo/B-12 shot this morning and have my 6 month meeting with my functional medicine nurse. I take bio-identical hormones to get me balanced in that area (i'm post-menapuase at age 50). Or, at least staying balanced as I go through the change gently and without issues! (I'm not rubbing on my hormones while on hcg though). I was told to take a break with them while on the Hcg hormone. I'm continuing with my thyroid (compounded supplement though). I can't wait to see if the B-12 shots give me a boost of energy!! I have a feeling I'm going to move super slow through this round.......don't have that much weight to lose and not sure how fast my body is going to want to give up the remaining muffin top. Let's be VERY INTENTIONAL with what goes in our mouths this week. I hope everyone has big losses!! KMac

Way to go on the losses KMac! Here I am day 11 -down 15.4 #s so far! I cant believe how easy this round is - way easier than any of my other rounds and I am already over 1/3 of the way done I survived the weekend, and I survived taking my children to the amusement park Sunday - and I did NOT cave to all the amazing smells of donuts, ice cream, popcorn, etc... I knew I wasn't hungry, it was just the cravings...but I go through it! I did accidently pop a ritz cracker in my mouth and ate it...I was giving them to my kids and subconsciously I put one in my mouth and chewed it up and after the fact I was like OMG I shouldn't have done that! I still lost, but I have been losing at least 1.4#s a day and today I only lost .4... lessoned learned! Here is to a good week everyone! By the end of this week I WILL be in ONEDERLAND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi everyone, mind if I join? I had my load days April 2nd and 3rd and started vlcd April 4th. This is my fourth round and I have been playing around with about 40 pounds the last three rounds and have had trouble making it stick. My first round I got down to 155 but that was pretty hard for me to maintain. Round 3, I was in the low to mid 160’s and had better luck with that. But then my DH got laid off and I decided to comfort myself with food and found myself at 200 pounds. I am 5’8”, 45 years young and my load weight this round was 202. Today I weighed in at 191, which is a bit slower loss than previous rounds, but faster than any normal diet I have tried. I know I will have to do another round, but I am waiting to do that in the fall. I have been a long time watcher of the forum and thought it was finally time to join in…happy losses to everyone and glad to be a part of this.
