Had to cancel work for today, which I NEVER do! I watch the kids if they are sick, and they have me come even if I have a cold, etc. But something weird was going on with my right side for about 30 hours. My hand was hurting REALLY bad, 1/2 way up the 4 finger down past the wrist. Then my thigh started hurting in the same way. Interior and outside thigh, not top or back. I have constant nerve pain, but this was different. More like a deep ache in all of my blood vessels. I think I may be developing something like vasculitis? My grandma had it, and I have inherited most of her health issues, unfortunately... I see a geneticist April 12th, so I am focusing on a few major issues/diagnoses now, but the Dr advised me to go ahead and start a dexamethasone dose pack, with an extra high dose to start. The pain was so bad I couldn't walk, and I was crying out anytime I changed positions, which I had to due frequently to prevent clotting... I had a feeling the steroids were coming. I had already taken 800mg Ibuprofen to get a jump on inflammation, and then started the steroids in the evening. I was up all night again from the pain, but about 5 am, it started to ease, and I was able to sleep. Now that I am up and around, I am only aware of the pain in my hands, or if I stop to think about it with my leg... faint background sensation, but not really pain in the thigh any more.... this is SO weird, because I figured my whole weekend was shot!

So, no work today means NO ANNIVERSARY DATE NIGHT (AGAIN!!!) Poor hubby! We still don't have a vehicle, but he thinks he has the issue pinned down and the part has arrived, so we'll know tonight. If so, then Monday between his regular job and our janitorial account, we'll go out for our buffet dinner. That delays my loading a bit, and changes the looks of it (the buffet will NOT be clean loading), but it is what it is. Also, no apple fritter this round. It can wait until round 3! So, I am having a few of my favorite foods today, starting my drops tomorrow, and clean loading all weekend. Then Monday I will count as a third loading day, but eat clean and light until the dinner. VLCD will start Tuesday. April 3rd. Now if I can just keep any other health issues from arising!

    Thumbs up Onward!

    Hello,

Well, first weigh in on VLCD 12...postponed weigh in for several reasons, but upshot is the number was in my hoped-for range. Now going forward with daily weights and have another month to go.

Feeling good...energy levels normal, not too much 4 am awakening, fewer weird dreams and considerable relief from arthritis pain. Onward!

After last round, my goal was to once and for all get beyond my hate/fear relationship with the scale and especially daily weights, which is the only way I will even come close to keeping the slow weight creep at bay. Even then, must be very careful with amounts of my quite short list of approved foods. Happy to say I did weigh daily during last stabilization period and was finally ok with incorporating daily weights as a must for me without the usual anguish

Was 400lb+ person for over 20 years, lost 230 lb on zero carb, slowly gained back 100 lbs during the next 10 years still maintaining a lowish carb diet, but overate cheese and other favorite approved foods.

A friend told me about the Hcg protocol some years ago and after multiple Rx rounds, utilizing skip days and 125 U, am close to perceived goal weight. And, almost most importantly, have been able to better fine tune P3 and P4 to be more successful in maintaining loss. The extreme aversion to the scale was a huge deal and loomed very large. Not quite there, or would have not postponed first weigh in, but that dragon is almost slayed...haha in critical condition and not expected to survive

Happy to be among the April losing peeps. Good company.

Thank you for the posts...so very helpful

Healthy loading in progress, to be followed by "not healthy loading" at our anniversary dinner out tomorrow night. Buffet dinner, and I only choose to eat restaurant food once or twice per year due to severe food sensitivities, so I am going to let myself have what I want and just try to minimize the effects with the few strategies I have learned... and deal with the rashes/hives that will invariably happen. I am not going to weigh myself until VLCD1. Between the gain from the steroid dose pack and loading gain, it will be a bigger number than I've been seeing for a few weeks, but then I'll start to see those wonderful first week losses, and all will be wonderful!

I was happy/sad today when I was able to wear a skirt that I bought a few months ago "to shrink into", and it was already too big! I wore it anyways (with safety pins in three places around the waist!) and then put it into the donation bucket when I got home. I am only keeping a few items 1 size too big, so that any time I regain, I will have a financial motive to lose quickly, before the scale creep gets out of hand.

Hello! I will be starting my first round of HCG tomorrow (April 2) with 2 loading days. I am looking forward to connecting with other people doing the protocol so that I can feel accountable and not alone in this process! Looking forward to "meeting" others! Thanks! Robin

Happy Monday to all! I expect this group, and the April Losers Support Group thread (once it is set up) will be hopping soon! Several have mentioned planning an April round.

I am doing my last loading day today. An extra day due to extended illness lately resulting in a loss of weight during P3/P4. I mostly follow the Original Protocol, so I want to be sure I have my normal fat reserves replenished, so that I lose the abnormal fat. I certainly have plenty of THAT to lose . So, I will be overeating at the restaurant tonight. Hubby and I will be going to a buffet (third try, thanks to the flu) and I will try to focus on higher fat choices, and will forgo dessert, as I had some of my favorite ice cream the night before last (and then dumped the rest down the drain so I wouldn't eat the rest.

Bacon and cheese omelet late this morning, and then I have some salami that I will snack on while driving down to the city, and while I do my errands I have been unable to do while sick. We only have one car between us (and it's been out of commission for a week, but now all fixed!), so we always do our errands if possible on the days that I have the car to head to the city an hour away, or on our way home from work. Big ice chest in the car for the Costco run, because I have to go before the dinner, and then we have our janitorial job afterwards. It's short, but in the wrong direction, so a bit of a scenic drive (in the dark, lol) to get there, and then home for a good night's sleep before starting VLCD1.

    FOOD PREP FOR VLCD:
Nothing is done! No chicken thawing. Very few vegetables prepped. I do have a few vegees cleaned and prepped for a vegetable tray that are still bagged up and were never put out, but most are not approved vegees, and I am taking the cucumbers today to snack on in the car. So, approved vegees are at the top of my shopping list, along with my gala apples, if Costco still has them. I have chicken; just keep forgetting to walk down to the cabin to get it out of the extra freezer. That's something I should do when I finish my post. Many days I am unable to make the walk up and down the hill due to health issues, but today I am having a great day, so I can do it myself instead of relying on a family member. Always a good feeling...

I don't work until Friday, so tomorrow (VLCD1), I will marinate and grill my chicken breasts, weigh and baggie them, and put some in the fridge and some in the freezer. I usually do enough for a full week to ten days. Then clean the grill and my meat is mostly cared for. Shrimp is on my list, but I only buy it when it is on sale. Oh, we had shrimp last night with bacon and brussel sprouts, onions and garlic, (and avocado oil/bacon grease for fat!) Great meal for fat loading! My son had it over light pasta with alfredo sauce. Hubby and I just ate the main mixture.

Well, that's my plan for loading and prep. I am off to prepare for my big errand day, anniversary dinner, and work tonight. Hope all of you enjoy your day, whether you are planning, loading, or already on the diet. As a great HCG'er says, "Onward!"

Hi All, I'm jumping in here. Getting ready to start a new round and have a couple of questions, wondering if anyone can help. I have done this several years ago and was successful (lost 50lbs over 3 rounds). Then after several years, the weight crept back on (my fault for just giving up and eating with the family). Since then I tried a few rounds but was never successful at completing or following through. I just wasn't mentally strong enough like before. Now I feel I am ready. I need to do this to be healthy more than anything. But I have a few concerns/questions. I am 48 and have been experiencing mild anxiety or panic attacks occasionally which I have never had before and I'm almost sure it is related to perimenopause. So with that being said - I feel my hormones are out of wack due to the fact that I'm probably starting menopause soon.

Would HCG effect this at all by making it worse or better?

My doctor just recently put me on birth control pills to try to help with overall issues I'm having (extrememly painful, heavy and long periods). It's just the first month but seems to be helping a LOT. Will starting on hcg effect this at all? I wasn't on birth control pills when I did this before.

And last question. I've done injections in the past and get them from safemeds4all. Is this still a good option, or are there other recommendations? Would drops be better in my case? I'm just a little worried about my hormones getting out of wack even more than they already are.

    Any help is much appreciated.

HCG can mess with your cycles, but its a temporary thing. When you end the HCG, you'll go back to whatever is normal for you.

HCG doesn't affect birth control according to the protocol m****cript.

There have been reports of overseas supplies confiscated by customs. Apparently there are some new rules.

Our site owner has researched suppliers and the ones recommended have high quality HCG and good support. You are safe ordering from any of the companies recommended on the Buy HCG page. It is more expensive, granted. But you are getting freshly compounded HCG from US pharmacies. That can make a difference in how well the HCG works for you.

Homeopathic hcg does work for many, but you want to be sure that you choose one that lists the HCG as the first ingredient, followed by dilution strengths (something like 6x 12x 30x)

Please note that any suggestions I make are based on the Original Protocol.

My recent HCG round was with DietDoc. Our site owner has generously arranged for me to earn a small fee if you use my DietDoc or Nu Image Medical link to order your Hcg and supplies.
