Catmom- You said it seems you come back every two years or so. How much do you typically gain a year? Do you always get back down to goal weight? I started off the first couple years doing great, but then just stopped caring. I've gained it all back, plus 9 pounds (59 total). Hcg is so easy, yet so hard! I just got tired of correction rounds and eventually just got tired of thinking about what I put into my body. Food is such a big part of my social and work life. It's been impossible for me to find balance.

I have noticed that keto only works for a while for a lot of women, and then they can't lose on it anymore, and their hormones get out of balance. (Which might explain that.) Men seem to handle it better long term.

HCG doesn't stay in your system longer than 3 days. It can mess with your cycle while you are on it, but once you are off, there is no lasting effect. The amount we take is so miniscule. A pregnant woman has tens of thousands of more units of HCG circulating than we take for this purpose. It is very safe.

I think of loading as HCG's cruel joke. I lose all my hunger and desire to eat about an hour after the first injection, so its a struggle for 2 days to load sufficiently. But you gotta do it, so I've learned to be strategic and go for the healthy fats first.
    Leez,
I do think I got to a stall on Keto. I'm leaning towards THM after this round of HCG. Beginning to wonder if I will be on an HCG loop for life. I do feel miserable after the 2 day load. Got in some good healthy fats although they tasted like cardboard!! I always feel energized on P2 so here's to a great day.

On the menu for me is a 90% fat free burger/cabbage for lunch and same for dinner with the apple! Sounds great to me! Cheers to ALL

That's way too much fat for this protocol. To make beef work, it has to be 98% fat free. You may find yourself stalling or even gaining from that, especially if you are having it twice a day. One thing you could do is completely brown your beef, and then rinse off the fat afterwards with scalding hot water.

THM is a great maintenance plan for many, as it is so flexible and it keeps you eating well. It's definitely worth checking out.

I'll switch to chicken for sure. Save that for P3.

Today is VLCD #4, and I'm down 4.8 ... 3, 1, and .8 respectively. Not the best initial losses I've ever had like previous rounds, but I started TOM yesterday. I'm hoping TOM wont slow losses for the rest of the week. LOL, I never know when it's going to come anymore ... I can go 2 or 3 months without, and the next one I might have 2 in one month. Menopause stinks! My meal plan has been the same each day thus far, 3 homemade garlic chicken meatballs for lunch, and for dinner a salad with chicken, cucumber, and red bell pepper with an awesome apple cider vinegar I got at one of those fancy olive oil and vinegar shops. Going to hit the grocery store today to get some oranges, as I haven't had any of my fruits yet.

    Hope everyone is doing great!!

    HI Catmom,
I am on VLCD2. Yesterday was hard. today will be better! I lost 3.8. I hope to find some additional ways to cook during thi P2. I generally eat the same old things mainly because they are fast and easy. One of the reasons I don't mine P2 (after the first few days) is the ease of cooking. How do you make your chicken meatballs? I'm going to look on Pinterest for some new ideas. I am just over the fence with menopause--no cycle for a year--and am thinking hormones are why I can't maintain. I'm working with my thyroid. I'm hypo and take levoxyll. I just don't think my numbers are great with that. Have a great day and LOSE!

Morning All, VLCD 1 for me. Load gain was 4.5lbs. Not terrible and definitely enjoyed some things I'm usually sensitive to, mostly loaded with P3 foods. Said goodbye to my Bullit whiskey last night. I have a new scale that measures down to .1. Wow, not sure if that's a good thing!
Hope everyone has great losses today.

Checking in today, VLCD 3 down 5.8. How's everyone doing? I'm trying swai this round, it's so cheap and considered a white fish. Anyone else had issues with it?

I'm the same way. have spent the past 6 months just grabbbing snacks on the go. Hard habit to break. I finally put a bag of clean celery in the frigand when I ant to snack, I grab a couple of pieces. Beats m&m's.

I've tried it during P2 and it was fine. It tasted like catfish to me, which is not a fish I enjoy, so I didn't eat it again.

My last round I used the tilapia loins from Costco. Very nice flakey sweet flesh, and responsibly farmed. I could really tell the difference in the quality from the asian imported tilapia that I used to get for P2 in the 4 oz individual pre-portioned form. The Costco brand is firmer, whiter, and tastes better.

Most swai and tilipia is sourced from China and Vietnam and may have questionable farming practices, even though they have been proven safe enough to eat. I liked that there are strict controls on the Costco products.

I did all my previous rounds for 40 days and did not skip. The first dr I had did not advocate that and I don't think its bothered me. If i don't cheat, by drinking, or sneaking cheese or nuts I do just fine with my losses.

Funny! I bought both tilapia and swai at Costco. I can only handle that place once a month, though. So many people.
