I will obviously never know but I am happy that I did the apple day - I had no hunger issues and it was nice to take a break from cooking honestly.
Kaylyn, did your losses continue after your 2 lb loss from your apple day?

I can feel your despair. I know for me, in the past when I bounced up and down with my weight it was usually one of these reasons...
I was eating fruit and/or veggies that was too big or too many. I estimated my protein instead of weighing raw. FOR ME, when I began the protocol I estimated my veggies and fruit intake- and as I got closer to my goal I realized that I was actually eating too large portions. Also, water intake. Very important to keep up water intake.

Are you exercising? sometimes this causes inflammation which could prevent us from seeing losses.

Tom- I was the unfortunate person who had no losses for a week because of Tom.

Swoosh- When was your last movement? Do you need magnesium or smooth move tea?

and consider your food choices. I know I do not lose when I eat tomatoes or shrimp. I cannot have the chili that is so desired. Keep in mind, that just because you were able to have some choices in the past doesn't mean that your body is working well with them now.

I hope this passes and you see a loss!! keep us updated.

jgd: is this an old established set point? My longest stall was when I hit a weight I had held for years. Even though it was decades ago, my body remembered and made me wait 12 days to break through. Dr. Simeons says it can take 2 weeks or more in that situation. I remember feeling lucky my setpoint stall "only" lasted 12 days.

    How is your hunger?

In addition to the morning after the Apple day of losing 2 pounds, i lost another 2 pounds the next morning. Since then I've been sitting at 185 for the past couple days. I've decided I'm going to wait this stall out

I do measure my food. I’m now wondering if I should try dropping 1 fruit and/or Melba? I do hate the thought of giving those up though. I’ve also heard that if you drop those it’s usually just water weight and that it comes back P3....so I don’t want to set myself up for a lower than should be LIW if that makes sense.

I’ve been doing long walks but no strenuous exercise. TOM ended Saturday. I do feel like I’m due for a good bowel movement, although I’ve had some every day they’ve been tiny, not normal for me. I took magnesium past 2 days but didn’t seem to help. I’m trying smooth move tea today.

My hunger is good. It’s possible I’m at an old set point, but if so, I broke through this set point in my February round, and looking back at that round, while I had stalls, nothing like this when I reached 143, and I never gained 2 lbs! The gain is what’s even more upsetting, and it’s not like I gained, then it dropped back off the next day. For sure my body gives me a hard time anytime I get close to 140, and it seems to fight me to go below it. My goal is 135. I stabilized at 140 last round and did pretty good until summer when I gained a few lbs, which is why I decided I needed to do a round before my gains got too out of hand....and I could tell I was headed there if I didn’t get back on track with a plan.

I don’t seem to be getting any advantage from the lipo mic shots either. I ordered these after starting round in hopes they would give me a slight edge and prevent stalls since I know my losses really slow when I near 140. I’m wondering if I should just stop these and resume them in P3. Perhaps they would help with stabilization? Thinking this since they supposedly help your liver process fats better and since we eat a lot of fat in P3 maybe they would be helpful? Thoughts?

In addition to the smooth move tea I’ve decided to do an apple day today. Never done one of these in any of my rounds before but I’m feeling desperate.

I think postponing lipo till P3 is a good idea.

I would increase your magnesium a lot and add a big dose of vitamin C if you tolerate it. Smooth move is an actual laxative, and for me causes really painful cramping. I hope you do better with it than me.

I don't like the idea of the apple day mainly because it restricts liquids. That always works against my body, because my digestion moves very slowly anyway and grinds to a standstill without enough water. But everyone is different. Maybe it will get you an early release from scale jail.

    .
I took 5000 mg yesterday (dispersed throughout the day), so apparently I tolerate it quite well! Do you think I should take more? What do you think about dropping a fruit and the Melba?

5000mg is pretty high. The most I ever needed was about 1600mg, and I thought I was a tough case!

But it seems to work better if you take it all in one big dose at the end of the day. Try that with about 2000mg magnesium and 3000mg vitaminC and work up from there. Make sure you are getting enough water that day. You should be good to go (so to speak) in the morning.

You can try dropping a fruit and melba. I always felt deprived when I did that, and it didn't change anything for me.

Honestly, I think if you can get your elimination straightened out, you'll feel a lot better and something should happen on the scale.

Update on apple day - I ate 5 apples throughout the day, no hunger at all. Total calories around 350. Like Kaylyn, I actually enjoyed the break from having to plan and prepare meals. I drank water when I was thirsty, but I didn’t drink anywhere close to what I normally drink. I drank smooth move tea in the morning. Took 2500 mg of magnesium, 3000 mg of C at night. I did have several bowel movements yesterday, but none of them were big. I lost 2.2 lbs which puts me at 141.4, which is .2 lower than I was 1 week ago.....happy to be down those 2 lbs I gained but still a little frustrated about overall progress. Hopefully things will continue to move down from here. I only have less than 2 weeks left for P2.

Lost .2 lbs yesterday, so total of .4 lb loss for the past week. I’ve done 28 days with a total of 11 lbs lost. The struggle is real. It is so hard to lose the closer you are to goal. My goal is 135. I’m at 141.2 as of this morning. I have about 9-10 days left (or less if I run out of hcg). Hoping to see some good movement over this next week. Debating on dropping Melba. It seems crazy but I enjoy it so much I almost can’t stand to think of giving it up, but I feel like I should be seeing better results.

Some people have a hidden gluten sensitivity. You could try switching your melba for an equivalent GF one. Le Pain crackers have worked for me, and are the same macros and calorie count as melbas. They have different varieties mixed with brown rice: buckwheat, quinoa, chestnut are all good.
