I should get the new syringes this week sometime. In the meantime I’m thinking I should decrease my dose. I could switch to subq injections in the meantime?

If you sincerely think you have been overdosing, that would seem to be a good idea to decrease.

What is your reason for switching to subcutaneous?

My only reason for switching temporarily would be because I know I could pull an accurate amount. I know must sound really stupid, but the syringes really are different and hard to pull to the exact amount. In the past, I’ve always just measured by pulling the solution to the correct line on the syringe and that has always worked for me. If I do that with these syringes I am getting too much because the really long point on the plunger pushes out all the solution in the point of the syringe that wouldn’t normally be pushed out in a syringe without a long point. When I try pulling to the “flat ring” part of the plunger (above the point) with the point fully submerged with solution around it (which we both seem to think is correct), well, it’s very hard to do!

I had a 1.4 loss this morning, so at least that helps keep my head in the game. In addition to the hunger yesterday, I was SO tired yesterday afternoon. I ended up having 2 protein shakes yesterday because I was so hungry. My guess is that I’m eating closer to 2.0 plan right now since I’m consuming more protein and dropped the Melba, fruit, milk for a few days because of the cheat on Saturday. I would like to get back to original protocol if I can get my dose/hunger fixed. Ironically, other than my first round in 2011, this was my only round of doing strict protocol, eating the Melba, both fruits and 1 T milk. In my other rounds I had a protein shake for breakfast, usually only ate 1 fruit, no milk and most of the time no Melba.

Makes sense to change to a syringe where you know what your dose actually is. Let's see if that makes a difference.

That is a big milestone. *applause!* I was so apprehensive as well the first time as well. But after a couple more, you'll wonder why you dreaded it so much. Not that it ever becomes pleasant, but it does just become something you do and move on.

@justgitterdone - how's it going after changing your method?

Hi Leez- I ended up not changing my method. I found out I was getting the new syringes yesterday, so I just took a lot of time with the weird syringes trying to pull the right dose. I’ve felt MUCH better the last couple of days. I haven’t been having the severe hunger at night like I was but I am still having hunger late afternoon and right after dinner, which I know from previous rounds when my dose is spot on I don’t have, but things are so much better I think the dose is getting worked out finally. This morning was my first injection with the new syringes and wow! SO much easier to pull and SO nice to have full confidence in what I’m pulling! Day before yesterday I had another .8 drop, this morning a .2 gain, which could have been the Walden’s Farm dressing and scallops I ate yesterday at my cousin’s, who is also in P2 right now. We take turns 1 day a week and cook lunch for one another, which is so nice, but yesterday was the first time she did that menu. I’m pretty sure I’m ok with scallops because I remember eating them in my first round but I know the Walden dressing have all kinds of junk in them even though they have zero fat/calories/sugar/carbs.

Yay Zippity! I know that first injection IS really scary, then after you’ve done a few, you’re like what’s the big deal?

My injections are subQ - looks like you are doing IM, Justgitterdone, as I see you do also Leez. I'm following the instructions from Riverfront MD where I ordered from. I added on the B12 and the MIC. The B12 is already mixed into the HCG vial and I draw the MIC into the same syringe and take them both every day. They recommended I start with 150 iu HCG plus 15 ml of MIC. So the syringe is filled completely. I don't see others using this method but assume I can always adjust the dose if I need to.

    Thoughts?

Also, about an hour and a half after injecting and then eating breakfast, I suddenly - and I mean REAL suddenly - felt so stuffed. I did eat more than I normally do but not enough to feel this full. I need to eat lunch early because I go to work this afternoon and I don't know how I'm going to eat! But I'm hitting up the drive through for some fried chicken fingers and french fries as one of my last Hurrah meals. Then going out with the family tonight. I really hate loading! It's a shame to eat all the yummies when you feel so bad. I'm mostly loading clean - no sugar and not crazy different carbs than I normally eat, just trying to add in the fat. I'll be snacking on nuts as much as I can. I've not done previous rounds dairy free but will be this time after having food sensitivity tests done and realizing dairy is a big no-no for me. I'm still trying to get used to that change and really, really, REALLY miss my cheese!

Argh...I had this long post all typed out then the site went down and I lost it all! I hate it when that happens!

Zippity- I inject IM but pretty sure Leez does subq. The only thing that sounds strange about your injections is the instructions to add the MIC. I’ve only known MIC injections to be IM. Dosage for hcg sounds spot on for subq.

I’ve heard of that happening to people on loading days. Guess the hcg can work pretty fast and start suppressing appetite quickly for some. I’ve never had that problem .

That stinks about the dairy for you. One of my fears is developing a sensitivity to diary. I love it so much! Hope it never happens to me but it is nice that there are so many dairy free alternatives now.

Yep, I'm a subcutaneous girl. I am also one of those that gets the appetite suppression within an hour or two of my first injection. I've learned to have a massive breakfast and really enjoy it, because the rest of loading is a big chore. I call it HCG's cruel joke.

If you are drawing your MIC into the same syringe, the only thing I think could be a problem is that you are dulling the needle point by having to poke it through two rubber stoppers instead of one. Which is not a huge deal, but could make injecting a little less comfortable. And of course there is one more opportunity for contamination, but following proper sterile methods should be safe enough.

Dairy free is doable, if not wonderful. You just have to accept that non-dairy cheese is a different animal and you have to appreciate it as something cheese-like that will never be cheese. For me, the substitutes are not satisfying enough to bother with. I'm in a dairy free period right now, so having to navigate all of that currently.

Same weight today as yesterday (yesterday was .2 lb increase). I hope I’m not going into another stall. I’m still feeling so much better and I feel like each day is getting even better. Some hunger in the late afternoon still, but not too bad. No hunger at night like before.

Gosh I remember those horrible days when nothing happens or the tiny gains. I know I have them in front of me - grrrrrrrr. I started thinking of them as pre-stabilizations though and that helped some. Your body is adjusting to the new weight. At least that what I told myself but still - UGH.

About to finish the loading part and I haven't done a great job. What I've eaten has been good, but I haven't eaten nearly enough. I decided to break the dairy free thing since it's kind of new anyway and go out for Mexican tonight. I skipped lunch after a late breakfast so I'm hungry and can go to town on the cheese and guac. I'll deal with the dairy free part when I get to P3, and really, cheese is the only thing I'll miss. I went grocery shopping today and have plenty to get me through the weekend so I guess I'm as ready as I'm going to be.

I was only up 1 lb this morning so I'm hoping the load gain won't be terribly significant. Although I plan to gain tonight with my splurge.

I also went today and had a body scan for body fat, muscle mass, etc. I'm going to do this regularly for the next few months to keep track. I'm starting out with 30.4 lbs of fat on just my trunk (belly fat). I hope to lose a good bit of that and get into the normal range of body fat. I'm at 38.6% body fat now and have a visceral fat level of 13 with a goal to get that under 10 - waaaaaay under 10.

    So, here I go!
