All good points about scheduling and number of dose days. We don't have any plans for Christmas, so I think I'll just power through. If we end up in some sort of meal dilemma, I think the prime rib and steamed veggies would work again. 40 dose days puts me right before New Year's eve. That would be good too! I think that with all that's happened this round, I'd like to stretch it out as much as I can.

I like the tip about stomach trouble. NO ONE will want more information about that! Like I said, bring my own food, but that's a good reason to do it! I'll will use this one next time DH wants pizza. He can order it if he wants, but I won't partake. Poor man, he is so confused about what I can and cannot eat on any particular day... ;-)

Thanks ladies - have a lovely losing weekend and I will try to be right there with you.

Same weight this morning. At least it isn't UP again. My mind is viewing this as the peak of a wave and I'm about to start sliding down the other side ;-) Keeping positive thoughts in my mind!

ETA: My family and friends are out to sabotage me! Our friends just now informed us that they are coming for a visit from 90 minutes away and want to go to the local casino and buffet for an outing. OMG! I know they have a prime rib carving station, peel and eat shrimp, and undressed salad fixin's, so I am setting my sights on that. Wish me luck!

    HELP!
Oh My Goodness I am UP 1.5 Pounds since YESTERDAY!!!!!
    How did this happen?
    What is going on?
I did not sleep well last night, I went out to dinner and just had a plain salad (Mixed greens, no dressing) and shrimp... I wonder if they put something in the boiled shrimp they did not declare...
    Oh my goodness.

It could just be bad sleep....yes, it can do that. It could just be that simple.
Remember that it is only water retention. You did not gain 1.5 pounds of fat in one day. Water weight that comes on fast can leave just as fast.

    But here's a checklist:

Have you eaten shrimp before without issues? Some people are sensitive to it.

Did they use spices in the shrimp boil? Peppers are not on protocol and in certain people can cause an inflammation response.

Was a meal you had yesterday particularly salty?

Did you eat your last meal later than normal?

Is it possible its a hormonal event?

Is elimination moving along or might you be stopped up?

    HI Leez,
    Thank you for your reply!
Yes, it could be lack of sleep. I feel like the walking dead today.
I have eaten shrimp without issues, but this shrimp tasted way different. Spicy and very salty, so probably peppers and salt and crap.
What is even worse is I called the restaurant in advance and discussed my needs. I was specific about no fat, no salt. It was really salty and spicy. Next time I will just send it back.
Yes I ate dinner way later than normal.
I feel stopped up. I am taking some corrective measures: Magnesium, Probiotics, ginger tea.

Leez, Thank you for your reply! I so appreciate you. I was really panicking in my head.
    Thank you Thank you.

I get it. It is so maddeningly unfair when the scale jumps up during P2. But it does happen, and thankfully, its almost always just a temporary blip. But no less distressing even if you know that.

Keep increasing magnesium until you get relief. There were times in P2 when I had to built up to 1600mg magnesium PLUS 3-4000mg vitamin C before things finally started moving again. Those of us with a sluggish thyroid seem to need to supplement magnesium daily anyway, as it slows bowel motility along with everything else.

    Good morning Lovelies!

RK - so sorry for your worries yesterday. I'm glad Leez was around to support you as I was tied up all day with our friends/guests. Hoping you got better sleep last night and that the water weight disappeared again. No movement in the bathroom can certainly add to the scale moving the wrong way.

Just a word about calling ahead to a restaurant to request special meal prep... It is not always a given that the information you gave to the person who answered the phone is going to be passed along to the person preparing your meal. Especially if the restaurant gets busy! Also, the person answering the phone may not be aware of the ingredients used to prepare every single dish. Something as simple as peppers used as a spice may not even occur to them as a potential problem. Just sayin'... (Note: No disrespect to anyone working in the food service industry. This is based on personal experience, having kept the books for a restaurant for several years with access "behind the scenes".)

Leez - thanks for always being so supportive and sharing your vast knowledge!

AFM: Casino buffet went well. I had a nice plain green bed of lettuce and about 4 oz of boiled, peel and eat shrimp. Not much "extra" flavoring, so they seemed pretty safe. Since I had to peel each one, it took a lot longer to eat and everyone else was so focused on their food that no one had anything to say about what or how much I was eating. I went back for a beautiful slice of prime rib. It was very thin and I cut off all of the edges and any fat. Probably about 3 or 4 oz as well. I was full, but not stuffed. I was rewarded this morning with a 0.3 drop on the scale, so I think I did OK. The hhcg seems to be doing it's thing again!

We had a nice long visit with our friends. Nice afternoon/evening.

Happy Sunday all - stay warm and dry - yes, it is still raining and cold here.

    Good Afternoon!

LinderLou so happy to hear the buffet went well!
Leez, I am always so grateful for your support and LinderLou's. So glad you were around yesterday.

Good news, I slept well and am down a pound today. I am sure I will lose the rest by tomorrow. Things are moving along in the bathroom, but it could be better. I am drinking Grammy's inflammation smoothie as I write this. It is going to be a challenging day as I have to go to another funeral today for one of my parent's friends. Dad is 90, and it is sad how many funerals and how many of their friends have passed on. Following the funeral there is going to be a huge meal and reception, but I am mentally prepared. I will just drink plain tea and serve everyone. I am not going to eat anything unless they have plain fruit or some on protocol veggies. I am going to have some dinner foods in a cooler in the car if I am hungry, and will just step out and eat some chicken and a vegetable in the car. I am making cookies that everyone loves but I don't like because wow I think are way too sweet. (Carmel Apple Cookies. My teeth hurt at the thought of them, never understood why they are such a hit). My plan is to not to start eating/tasting all the food that will be there...Just easier that way.

    Have a great day!
    RK

I really feel focused today to lose this weight and move forward.

RK - Glad things are starting to move along for you and that TESS was kind to you this morning.

Sorry to hear that your Dad's friend passed. It's just one more thing to deal with as we/they age. Your strategy for dealing with the meal afterward sounds great. Stepping into the role as server will keep you so busy you won't even think about eating! I'm with you in that I would rather not even taste the food. Just drink your tea and hand out cookies ;-)

AFM: Down 0.5 this morning. So, I am back to where I was on Thanksgiving. Disappointing, but also grateful that things are moving in the correct direction again.

    As Pearly says - ONWARD!

    Good Morning!

LinderLou, I am hoping you have a big drop tomorrow. Sometimes it takes a bit to shift back to the hcg mode.

AFM: I am down to where I was on Friday. Kind of destroyed my momentum, but at least I am back! Also, I have stalled for days on previous rounds, so like you I am grateful to be moving in the correct direction. I slept well and It's 10:00 here and I am not hungry at all, so even better news to help make the right choices.

Have a great day and I am hopeful that we both have a woosh tomorrow!

    Good Morning!

I am down another .7 lbs today. POP all the way. I am so cold but cozy now wearing my sweaters and warm clothes. Yesterday I felt really icky and tired-- not sure if it was may family who is all sick starting to get me sick or just the fatigue of the diet, but I am better today!

    Leez how are you doing?
LinderLou I hope you are doing great.

Have a wonderful day and Take care,

    Good afternoon, almost!

No whoosh yet, but down 0.3 this morning. It is encouraging to see downward movement again. Hoping to start seeing some new lower numbers by the end of the week.

I was presented a challenge yesterday of making deviled eggs that I couldn't even eat. One of my favorite foods, but I made them without going hog wild. I did do two very small taste tests (I'm talking about the back of a fingernail) to make sure the right amount of Coleman's mustard had been added. But I made it through and everyone liked them! Non-scale victory!

RK, you're right that the hHcg is working even though TESS isn't moving much. I can feel a tightening in my ribcage and I KNOW that my pants are fitting looser, especially in the thighs. If I wasn't wearing big, baggy clothes to stay warm, it would probably be more obvious ;-)

Stay warm and glad you're feeling better today!
