    1. What do you think of starchy vegetables during a PI? Like Cauliflower, Brussels Sprouts and Broccoli? I figure potatoes are a no no since the goal is no sugar, no starch during the PI, just not sure of starchy veggies.
The only somewhat starchier veggie in your list is brussel sprouts. The others are considered non-starchies. However brussel sprouts are fine for P3 in moderation. Same for green peas. A bit starchier, but not totally contraband like potatoes.
    2. What do you think about increasing my exercise during a PI? I don't want to overdo it, yet other than walking I find best results by not exercising during P2. IT's just too hard to exercise during P2, but not sure about a PI.
It would be fine to increase walking, but I wouldn't add anything more strenuous. Just messes with the scale when you are trying to stay stable.

....Whelp, I am disappointed about the gain, but not going to panic. Just going to focus on doing the right things.
    Good plan.

I'm already mildly hungry, but no so much that it's bothering me much. So, our friend texted me this morning that she is making tortellini with white sauce and did we have any salad and French bread? OMG - she will be the death of me! Anyway, I texted back and said I'll bring something for me since she's having a carb fest over there.

Looking forward to P3 and counting down the hours. I stopped my pellets midday yesterday, but think I'll just keep VLCD until Tuesday morning to be on the safe side. At least I will be able to eat the salad, unless she insists on loading it with dressing and/or tomatoes before I can stop her...

Linderlou, I would call and say no dressing on my salad please! Yes, P3 is going to be much easier to deal with the food pushers... Just remember my favorite line, I am so happy to share your company, but right now my stomach is not my friend. That shuts them all up nicely and avoids any debates.

Leez, Thank you for your reply! That really helps me!

Hope you all are enjoying a lovely holiday season!

Well, I brought the lettuce, so grabbed some out of the bowl before she got ahold of it so, no problem there. Dinner was nice and we had a nice visit. Love your stomach line! Will keep it in mind for my next round in February. Onward to P3 for now. Ironically, TESS was down again this morning another 0.3, so I'm going in with a bit of a cushion. Nice early Christmas present!

Hope everyone has a wondrous, joyful holiday celebration full of love and blessings.

I had a bunch of Christmas preparation plans today that all got changed, but o well, its all part of the adventure. Having unexpected things happen (and none of them were bad--just life interruptions) is part of what makes life interesting!

    Merry Christmas All!

P3D2: Down 0.6 from LDW after having taco salad for dinner with sour cream, cheese and guac. This really is a magical protocol you can eat the bad "fattening" foods and TESS goes down

OK - off to prepare a fantastic P3 Christmas feast!

    HI,

    Leez, that sounds very annoying!
Linderlou, glad to hear things are going well!

Just trying to live through the holidays, heavy meal prep schedule and I am trying to plan a better 2020!

Trying to stay away from all the sweet stuff!

Leez, I just wanted to thank you for all your advice and also your prompt replies this year! Happy New Year!

I am so excited about 2020, moving forward, getting a better understanding of how to keep the weight off, and losing the rest of this weight!

I'm happy to share what I've gathered from all the other wise people and medical types on this forum. I feel like its a bit of giving back for all the help I have gotten personally from all the lovely ones who have posted here over the years. Thanks! I do feel appreciated. ^_^

Almost had a crisis preparing the traditional pork & kraut dish for New Years. I couldn't get the lids off the jars of kraut despite all my normal tricks, and DH had no better luck at it than me. So. What to do? Wikipedia to the rescue. I found that one of the methods is to pry the edge of the jar lid with a butter knife until the seal pops. It worked! We will have kraut with our pork after all.

Hope all have a happy and healthy new year. Here's to everyone finding our particular keys to food success.

    Hi Leez,

The pry lid trick also works with a pointier tipped spoon as well.

    Happy New Year!

That’s a good tip about the stuck jars. I had a similar problem and ended up returning the jar to the store! Next time I will try your trick!
