December 2020 Loaders - Xmas Preppers

Welcome December Loaders, this thread is for you.

Here it is--one last push to get it all together before the holidays. There is just enough time for a December round to put you in P3 for the holidays.

I always think the holidays is THE best time to be in P3. You don't even have to think about all the cookies and adult beverages. You just know you must pass them up. But there are so many wonderful things you can eat that its a great celebration time. Being in P3 during the holidays lets you get past the biggest sugar temptation pitfall all year and sail into the new one in a good place.

So who will join this Xmas Preppers group? I applaud the hopefulness and the determination of any considering a December round. Yes, its risky, but the prize is a worthy one.

Join this little temporary community to help each other with planning, encouragement and concerns. Or just use it to post for personal accountability.

I'll be around to field protocol questions, and you may get some veterans who drop by and share some of their experiences and acquired wisdom. Good luck, and may you load well!

Indeed, holidays derail so many. A strategy is important.

It takes some doing to overcome the mindset that holidays are for over-enjoying sugary and rich foods. So entering into the holidays as a P3 discipline is one way to discover that you actually can navigate the season without sabotaging yourself and still enjoy it.

It was a long process for me to disconnect food from being the main attraction of holidays. I still enjoy the festivities, but I eat through it with my own rules about food source and satisfaction signals now. And I don't eat things (or the quantity of them) that I know will make me feel stuffed and uncomfortable.

Hi everyone! Iím wrapping up my second loading day (so full) and eager to start VLCD1 tomorrow. Iíve done the protocol before, several years ago, using drops. This is my first time using prescription injections. Iím so excited foe the results. Iím going to be doing the lipo shots too. I love this forum - it was so helpful in prior rounds.

Welcome and I'm excited for you. I've only used injections, and have had a very consistent experience of being hunger-free during all my rounds. It is truly the easiest diet from the stand point of feeling good, almost euphoric, during the process.

So week is always the most exciting seeing the big drops on the scale.

I agree 100 percent that doing P3 through the holidays is a real gift. It's one of the reasons I'm extending my P3 beyond three weeks. It's just not worth it to go bonkers with food this time of year. It's my main goal to heal my emotional eating, which includes using food to celebrate. There are different ways to live; this is just a habit that isn't healthy--and it can be changed with the desire to change coupled with mindfulness. I want to feel great on the other side of New Year's Day, and I know for me that means staying away from sugar and alcohol and grains at the very least.

Anyway, cheering on all those beginning a new round! I'm looking forward to my second round in January. . . .

Halfway through VLCD4 and just enjoyed some spicy tomato chicken soup and a cinnamon apple. Very good on a cold day. Itís been an interesting week one for me. I loaded relatively low-carb, high fat and gained about 2.5 - since I was coming off six months of keto, adding in the fruit and extra nuts of loading contributed to this weight but I knew I wanted my fruit back! By dinner on the second day of loading I couldnít even finish my salad I was so full. After the first VLCD, I only lost one pound (unusual for meI thought about it, and I realized a few things. I was still adjusting to higher carbs, I ate miracle noodles which can disguise a loss for me for a day or so, I didnít drink enough water, and I went horseback riding for the first time in a week and my muscles were really sore. I was also hungry and weak. I had started loading on 150 iu. So on VLCD2, I dropped to 125, added electrolytes, went riding again, and drank a ton of water. All food OP. Woke up to a 2.5 loss. Nice! But on VLCD3, I had a minor outpatient surgery planned (eyelids). I knew Iíd be inflamed so I wasnít going to pay much attention to my weight for the next day or so. However, the doc needed me to eat breakfast that morning. Iíve used Fage in the past, so I decided to do an Alternative day. I had five Fage 0% with blueberries spread through the day. Woke up to puffy eyelids but a 3 pound loss. Wow. Iíll take it. Back to OP today but good to have that in my back pocket. Sorry for the long post! But so happy to be back.

A word of concern: Since you opted to have some surgery during P2, you might consider adding some bone broth or other extra protein for a week or so. The protein amounts in the P2 menu are at the barest level of adequate, and you need enough protein for proper healing.

Thank you! I absolutely agree and that was part of my thinking behind the Fage. I like the bone broth idea since I also need extra salt to feel good. I also have a compliant protein powder that might work.

Im not loading but needing to get back on forum for accountability. Have been eating improperly on P4 ... meaning less healthy foods and the scale shows the results, I need to get back to healthy choices and less food... holidays were not the only reason. Maybe in the busyness of moving my studio and covid stress i am making poor choices, even though i am still below LIW it has been a 6 lb gain in the last 6 weeks .... i cannot do a steak day if i have to wait till dinner but if it was possible to do a steak in the morning and fast till the next morning i could handle. I am hypoglycemic and cannot go long periods without protein

Rose, I'm not sure if you can tolerate dairy, but I've had just as good results as a regular steak day if I have a breakfast of greek yogurt and blueberries, and then eat my steak and apple as normal in the late afternoon. Would that work with your hypoglycemia? If not, you might be able to split the yogurt meal into breakfast and lunch. Although its just an idea, I've never tried doing it that way.

I stopped my creep down too and have gone up a couple. Nothing alarming yet, but would like to see it reverse again for sure.

I dont think dairy a problem and i do have blueberries. Maybe will try next week, I always cook on Saturday and kids come for Sunday dinner. I already have stew meat potatoes onions and carrots in crockpot and then reheat on Sunday, I think i will try steak day with yogurt in morning and see if that will work. Headed into Christmas i do lots of baking... banana/pumpkin/cranberry breads, cookies and fudge, Christmas dinner is lasagna, pork chops, eggplant parmesan and sausage cheese grits, One day not a killer but sometimes theows me off,
