My new drops were shipped today. Will be starting over loading on Friday. So far I haven't gained but a half lb, since pausing on Sunday.

Hello! I am very new to this HCG diet. I weighed in at 222.2 on 2/22 with my first injection, on my last loading day now. Very anxious about the VLCD tomorrow, I work a 12 hour shift tomorrow and hope I wont be tempted with the usual eat something between patients kinda situation.

Hello! I'm new also and I'm glad I found you all. Today is VLCD2 and I've been struggling with the hunger. Wowza! I thought I was going to start chewing on my arm. I thought about trying some appetite suppressant tea. Has anyone tried that? The other question I have is "does anyone have a good soup recipe for lunch?"

Welcome newcomers! Bee, I have to stay out of break room most of the shift. There is always something tempting in there. Also our pharmacist has a candy basket in pharmacy. Very hard to ignore while pulling meds. I'm used to grabbing candy with every trip in there. I got some consulate chocolate stevia for my coffee, it's delicious! I use that as my sweet treat. Also have orange slices to snack on during the night shift. Don't get very hungry that way.

Cathy, I've not tried any app supp teas. Just try to drink a big glass of water. If still struggling after first week, you can try to adjust your dose.

Extreme hunger like you are describing is usually a sign that your dose is too high. What dose are you on?

Cathy, hunger is a sign your dose is off. There are a number of threads on how to confirm that, I'd highly suggest you review them or perhaps reach out to Grammy directly. With injections, the only real way of knowing is doing a skip day - if your hunger is better after 4pm and through the evening, your dose is too high, if worse, your dose is too low. Always remember, with RX the level of hcg in your system is the average of three days worth of dosing. If you change dose without doing a skip day, you may or may not be changing in the right direction. An incorrect dose is not only miserable, but can also result in losing the wrong kind of fat and being in starvation mode. As soon as you start eating again, the weight you've lost will pile right back on...FAST. If you're on the correct dose for your body, you will have hunger only at mealtimes, there's zero need for any appetite suppressant.

AFM, down another 1.8# this morning to 172.2#, love the first week loses I can hardly wait to see 160-something on the scale. For me to be in the 170's is more than frightening to me. I just picture the day when I'm back down in weight to where I'm comfortable in my own body again, what a huge relief that'll be to my psyche. I'm to get blood work done and see my thryoid doc by the end of March, I'm more than curious what their reaction will be to the weight loss. When I was there a couple weeks ago, I discussed with the PA how I just couldn't STAND where I was heading - frankly, she had little to offer than, "Hang in there". I'd gained 13# in six weeks time WITH dieting and increased activity! She said when I came back, if I was still gaining she'd discuss weight loss medications. After that appointment, I really, really thought about everything and finally considered this protocol again. I figured it'd be better to stop the gaining and start getting back to "me" rather than feel so horrible about myself and pack on pound after pound. PLUS, since gaining so much in such a short time (40# since last summer!), I've had to buy an entire new wardrobe, nothing fit. AND those clothes were getting pretty dang snug. So, onward and upward.

This is what I am doing, kind of Siesta Beach version. (NOT the original protocol): Not much fat, but I do have some. I am very low carb. I don't count calories. THis is what I am eating:
    - Breakfast: A big smoothie with spinach (cup or so), celery (3), a whole lemon, whole apple, chunk of turmeric, clove of garlic, chunk of ginger, parsley sprigs, cilantro sprigs, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, pepper, Stevia, 2 c hot water. (yes, it tastes pretty odd!)
    - Coffee with 4T milk
    - lunch: big salad with purple and green cabbage, 2 c spinach, cilantro, parsley, onion, *grass fed beef 10%fat*, Dressing made of 1 T full fat thousand island dressing, 3T ACV, one cooked egg yolk, mixed with a stick blender.
    - Dinner: same as lunch except either a beef patty or 4 jumbo hard boiled egg whites.
    - Supplements: I take all my oil supplements like CLA, Fish Oil, Astaxanthin, vit e, vit d, etc. every day.

I like that I can have a giant salad and just a little creaminess in the dressing, milk in my coffee, mix all the low carb veggies, and a big breakfast serving of fruits and veggies.

AFM: This is vlcd 16, with a two day cheat. I am down 12 lbs in 15 days, so pretty happy with that. I feel that once I got out of that first week, I can see that this is really working for me and I am actually losing a lb a day like I did on my first hcg pop round. If I add more fats, I know I will start slipping again.

P2D1VLCD Keeping meticulous records of daily activity (ratios, macros, total lbs lost, food etc) has helped me analyze what I'm eating, how my body reacts and what patterns result from my actions. I'm a spreadsheet gal myself.

I'm on the long round. Only down 8.6 lbs total and 6 inches. I know this progress is slower for me than I'd like, but the alternative is way more painful (doing nothing - or spending hours in the gym). Yesterday was a super stressful day at work and I really wanted a salty carb BAD. Locked myself in the bathroom for 10 minutes deep breathing until the craving passed. I forgot how much I love grapefruit. Coffee is really tasting weird lately - anybody else notice that? I, too, can eat broccoli but not cabbage or apples. Bad stuff happens!

I really have to find a better salad dressing than vinegar - lemon is ok but I don't want to overdose on it. I noticed I have a loss of -1.4 to -1.6 one day and then 2 days at 0. Weird. I think this is going pretty slow. I just need to keep my head in the process and go with the flow, and the outcome - whatever that may be, IS WHAT IT IS. I would like to see overall loss of 25 pounds. I know my adrenals are jacked up. I'm in pretty stressful job and home life. Lots of PTSD people at my house.

Has anyone done any detox foot baths or anything like that during P2?

On a positive note, I did manage to get into a pair of pants the next size down and feeling less bloated. I cant wait to feel light on my feet again.

I gained 80 lbs in a year and a half in my twenties because I was vegetarian and ate a lot of soy which taxed my already taxed thyroid and boom. I worked out 5-7 hours a week, ate salads and put on 80 lbs. Doctors were baffled. So now I avoid soy, take medication and I've gotten myself feeling well for years, but never could get the weight from that off! I would go from 226-265 fluctuating over the years. So I have also put on weight "dieting" and working out!

This is my first time to 199! I now know how to keep thyroid healthy, how to keep weight off (If I have a splurge day in p4 then I will eat low carb the next day, and I eat a grain free diet most of the week). I have the tools!

    -80 pounds!

I keep gaining 20 to 25 of it back, I take off 5 pounds myself and then I do a round and lose 20 lbs. So I have done a total of 7 rounds. I am on my 8th round, taking the SAME 20 lbs off. ugh. But at least I don't gain 80 back!

  11. #275
Your weight loss is great. I think of it this way, if I lose 15-20 pounds in 35 days, that's15 lbs more than I could lose on my own! Sometimes it takes me 6 months to drop 20 lbs!

My round seems slow, too never had big "first week numbers" and didn't last round either, but I lost 10 lbs plus loading weight my first week first round. I've lost almost 12 lbs now, VLCD 15, that's dang good. Next time I am loading cleaner because I might not have wasted time re losing 7 lbs which I could use. I am almost halfway, doing 33-36 days. Pretty sure I'll hit 9 more lbs, so -20 this round. Not spectacular, not horrible! I will be 189-190 my first goal is 180, ultimate goal is 165-170ish. Hubby weighs 185, so I was hoping to hit his weight but unless I drop 14 more lbs in the next 2.5 weeks, ha ha . So I will surpass him round 4 June.

tornadoldy, I find my tastes definitely change while on hcg. Things taste saltier, spicier, or tinny to me as I go further along. I also develop severe food aversions - especially to any fish, spinach, and asparagus. I think that's just part of the side effects of hcg with my body. My first round, I lost 17.8# the first week - I figured out afterwards that was all carb water weight as I was a carboholic prior to R1. I tend to average about 7 - 8# for week 1 now, typically slow to about 3# for week 2, and up to about 5# for week 3. I do allow myself one cup of coffee first thing in the morning the a very light splash of half and half - it's my guilty pleasure. If the scale is simply NOT moving at all, I cut it out altogether. I just cannot drink black coffee, bleh.
