Just---I have a 30 day vial. (30 syringes). I can probably get a few extra from my clinic if it looks like I have any "juice" left after 30 injections. So, I need to start strong, stay strong and end strong. I'm telling myself that I don't have ANY room to stray off course. I've done 2 other rounds that were 30 day length and then attempted to go further on another and purchased an additional bottle. Frankly, I can't remember if that round had better loses. I typically have lost between 17-20 lbs. in the 3 previous rounds. (I think I lost 13 lb. in my failed round last fall/my debut with 2.0 along with Hurricane Harvey wasn't a good combination). I typically lose about 10 lb. the first 7-10 days. Then, I have the dreaded STALL.......and poke along at a snails pace losing after that. I know each round can be different.......maybe this round I'll lose MORE THAN EVER!! whooohooo. However, I know the TRUE test is how well I can stay OP. I don't understand WHY or HOW.....a few extra calories can keep you from losing your max. amount. But, clearly.......that is the case. If you want the best outcome..........you can't CHEAT. That is my main area of concentration this round. Stay ON course THROUGHOUT the course. Nothing is happening in February for me, no events, no excuses. I sound really strong and positive today!!!! HA! I didn't eat breakfast this morning, wasn't hungry. At lunch around 1pm. Found 99% fat free ground turkey that I made into a burger patty and topped with lettuce, tomato and pickles. No condiments. So, a deconstructed turkey burger. That was 118 calories. I'm not hungry this afternoon, drinking H20 like crazy. Starting to feel "cold". So, I guess here comes the "chill".

How much water are we supposed to drink......I've forgotten. In my mind, I'm thinking 80 oz? Anyone think that is enough?

Just.....we are on the same curve......you are a few days ahead.

Just a bit of a headache coming on, had a little one yesterday. But, feeling pretty dang good for day 2. Hoping positive attitude keeps me pumped up for 28 more days.

I guess the state of address speech tonight will keep me entertained!!!!!!!!!!

You can stretch out your round beyond 30 days by doing a skip day each week. You keep losing through the skip day, so it serves to give you a bit more time to get the most out of your round.

The protocol recommends 2 litres (68 ounces) water per day, and that can include coffee and tea.

What helps keep me on course is to look at the protocol as a medical prescription. If you are taking a prescription, you wouldn't arbitrarily change amounts or content of it as you want it to work. I look at the 500 calorie menu in that same way. And indeed it IS a prescription for healing--of our metabolism.

Y'all, I'm back. Loading this weekend. I'm chasing those last 15 pounds. Pearly shared an excellent menu for good fats to indulge in and I loved her menu. Stay tuned!

    Good Morning (almost February folks)!!

VLCD#3 for me and I woke up a bit hungry. Didn't sleep well and have a pinch of a headache. I had 1/4 serving of my sugar fee/carb free protein mix with a few strawberries. Hoping to get some paperwork done and a dog walk to pass my time until lunch. I did get to 400 calories yesterday and I'm going to address that today with an extra veggie snack (salad or cucumbers). In the past, I've always struggled to get 400 calories but this round I'm going to attempt to hit closer to 500 calories in hopes of simply feeling better and not so weak. Losses are extreme......5.4 lbs. in 2 days. (that includes my 2 lb. load gain). That is most definitely a good start and helps solidify my mind set of staying true to the protocol. (I did have fresh steamed green beans last night, but I"ve always been able to utilize them and have success). My deviations from protocol will be my protein powder and a few extra types of veggies. I don't use the breadstick/toast options. My problem isn't bread.....it's WINE. sigh........But, luckily, the HCG kills my urge for wine so i'm good until P3!!!!

Hope everyone has an EASY day! Stay on course and be intentional. NO CHEATING. If you start to cheat.......come to the thread FIRST!! (whispering to myself)! KMac

This is the time of year when its easy to get dehydrated because of the dry air, and that can often cause a morning headache. Just something to be aware of, and get some moisture into your bedroom air if you can.

A bit of hunger and headaches are pretty common the first few days of the VLDC though.

Great start Kmac! Something I was able to successfully use in my last P2 was fat free chicken bone broth. (Imagine brand) It gets more protein in and there are 40 calories per cup. Something like that could help you make your 500 calories if you are willing to give that a try. Its not a big deal if you are under 500 occasionally, but you do want to aim for that number. It does make it a little more challenging when you aren't filling in with the melba. 100 calories of cucumber is a LOT of cucumber. You could eat a bigger apple too.

Hey Tracy! You, me and Kmac are all trying to lose those last 15! Welcome to the club!

Kmac- Pacific makes a good organic chicken bone broth as well. I use it no problem and my Costco sells it so I buy it by the case. Like Leez says, bone broth is good for adding protein and bumping up calories a little since it has more than regular broth.

I've been in a blah mood today, not even 1 week in and all I've been thinking about is I have SO many days left, like no light at end of tunnel! It's silly, I know, I will get over it, just been in a bit of a funk this round. I have a cousin who is doing it too so she came over for lunch today. It's nice to have someone to do it with. I made a hot and sour cabbage soup and it was really good.

One day at a time! (sometimes one HOUR at a time )

Everybody hang in. Its only a few weeks, we can all do a few weeks of anything. That last 15 is the hardest. It took me two years to finally get it down and keep it down.

Amen sister. I think I chase those last 15 every couple years. I will say this site has become increasingly informative and always supportive over the years.
Thank you Leez, you're a big part of that. (I promise to get my menopause thread up and running any day now!)

So my weight loss for week 1 is 4.4 lbs (I do NOT include load weight which was over 6 lbs!). I would be SO happy to have a 4.4 lb loss every week so I could wrap this round up in 30 days which would be fantastic! I know that won't happen though with the dreaded stalls that are certainly on the horizon. I hope I continue to have good losses for this next week though. Might make me feel better mentally.

I usually have a problem with sleeping while on hcg, but that hasn't been the case this past week EXCEPT for last night! Went to bed at 10:30, then woke up at 1:30 and couldn't get back to sleep until around 5:30. The only thing I did different was not take my hhcg dose before I went to bed. I wanted to skip a dose because I've felt that my dose may be off a little. I will be sure to dose tonight and see if it makes a difference. I really hate not being able to sleep!

I am starting off with hhcg this round (3x/day dose), then will switch over to injections 2 1/2 to 3 weeks in. Reason being is that I only have 1 vial for injections which won't get me through a long round, and I don't want to buy another vial, so I'm mixing it up. I did this last spring and it worked great, so hopefully no issues with it this round.

Morning Just and Tracy---VLCD #4 and 4.4 lb. down (doesn't include the 2 lb. load weight). I don't usually count that! So, a good start but yesterday was tough. Thanks Leez, for reminding me that first 5 days can be tough. I don't sleep well on HCG so the 4:30am wake up was tough. Thankfully, I went back to sleep. I was light headed some this morning. I'm just going to hunker down and layer up today and stay positive. I was somewhat hungry yesterday but nothing that I think is abnormal for the first few days. I was kinda hungry when I went to bed but remember that being typical in the beginning. I did eat an entire orange a few hours after dinner and it was YUMMY!

Chasing the last 15 lb.!!!! Which means......we have to be SUPER intentional. Ya'll know......it's hard to lose the last "dredges" of fat~~~~ the body wants to hold on!! That is what I"m telling myself. There is not much "wiggle" room, so staying strong and OP is KEY.

JUST......I dread the stall that comes to me on approx. 7-10 days. It's hard to stay on course during the stalls. I'll help you through it!! Even though I dislike the stall......it generally comes around the time my tummy gets really squizzy and weird looking/feeling. (I imagine the fat being absorbed)! Then after the stall.......my tummy always starts looking much better.....(re-shaped). Hopefully, your upcoming stall will be a short one!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm dreading my stall. I get so frustrated!!!!! But, it appears to simply be a way my body handles the HCG so this round I'm just going to ignore it and carry on. Feel free to VENT TO US!!!

I don't feel like exercising today. Think I'll just walk dog and take it easy. I've got major CHILL. (which I pretend is burning up my fat)!!!

I'm going for a B-12/lipo injection at my clinic.....maybe that will give me some energy.

I'm going to try the bone broth....HEB has several varieties. Thanks for the suggestion. I was cold yesterday and almost warmed up the low sodium chicken broth I bought to cook with.

I bought the lubriderm advanced therapy lotion yesterday and also some oil free, water based facial moisturizer. I'm not sure I buy into that being necessary.....but, I'm leaving nothing to chance here!!

Leez, I'm debating the skip day for my 30 day round that you suggested if I want to add a few days this round. If I were to do that......which day do you suggest to skip? I'm VLCD #4 but loaded 3 days so today was my 7th injection. If I want to skip a day.....I assume that would be TOMORROW?

That's all for now......hoping everyone has a great day. I'm going to eat lunch early in hopes that helps with the hunger and it will allow me to space my calories out a bit better and hopefully get more in.

In general, all is well today even though I'm a bit grumpy!!!!! KMac

After the 4th injection, it doesn't matter what day you pick for your skip day. If you can't start skipping until day VLCD 10-12 or so, even that is fine. So just pick a day that works best for you and start the next time it comes up. I usually skipped on Sunday because it is an early morning for me, and the logistics of getting my injection in at the regular time were difficult. So that was the perfect opportunity for a skip day in my routine.

If you are stiill having hunger in the days before you skip, you can use the skip day to see if you need a dose adjustment. If your hunger levels are fine, but you get a bit hungrier in the evening of the skip day--that is normal and doesn't indicate you need a dose change.

The rule I follow for topical products in P2 is that it doesn't really matter if you are going to wash it right off (shampoos, soaps, etc) . But any leave-on products should be oil-free.

Stay strong everyone. That second week is usually a slowdown for most people. What is happening is that your body is catching up from the big losses of week one and adjusting water store levels. After a few days of that, most people will start losing well again.

KMac, your losses are fantastic! whenever I feel light headed I eat some pink Himalayan sea salt and it makes me feel better immediately. I do the same if I feel a headache coming on and it works for that too. I think our electrolytes get out of balance easy on this diet with so little food and so much water. I LOVE the Lubriderm advanced therapy lotion! It feels so hydrating on my poor dry skin! Ive never seen it specifically listed in these forums so I was so happy when I picked it up in the store and read the ingredients!
