I am doing my first skip day tomorrow and then will skip every four days to stretch out the round. I have a PI starting the first day of July. I'll have 30 doses by then and will come back on the 5th for about three more weeks.
I wanted to try this last winter but the faint/concussion stopped me in my tracks. Summer science project!

    Make it a great one!
If you think you're in a stall, then you are most likely due for another whoosh

Oooh - meeting the governor sounds like fun. My problem with super long days away from home/office is that I tend to not get enough water in, due to not being able to plan trips to the loo when you're out and about.

Hey, I thought you were doing a vanity round... your PI and subsequent 3 more weeks sounds like a lot more than that - but, hey, it's your decision. I hope you get the results you're after

AFM: Didn't get to weigh this morning. I'm thinking about just weighing once a week for a while to avoid stressing about it. Foot is still a little painful, but improving.

    Have a great Tuesday everyone!

Linder Lou, my goodness, you are a trooper, what a testament to struggle and maintaining such a beautiful attitude. And you share your insight and wisdom with such grace and humility. Thank you!

I must have misspoke, I don't think diverticulitis is associated with urine foods; I think it's lack of fiber, laziness, and being overweight. Check. Check. Check!!! And Mom.

Jen, I think an annotated version of P&I would be incredible, like publish it as a book incredible. I'd buy it. My suggestion would be to have two versions, the original as a stand alone and the annotated version. Do it! I'll help you edit :-)

I'm the same weight today and another half inch of my waist gone, what a great way to start the week! I pushed some boundaries this weekend with mixing veggies, and using 85% beef which I cooked and rinsed.

Jen, I made your meatball soup, with beef broth. The broth was so yummy in yesterday's dreary weather, I have to add more to the meatballs today!
I make an Italian meatball soup with meatballs, chicken broth, spinach leaves and I dice up the cauliflower so it looks like pasta. It's really good and filling.

Have an above average day everyone!
OMG that would be so much fun!!!! & So helpful for everyone!!!! Right now, I'm making updates across the main site's articles, but I would love to do this next!

Congrats on the loss- half an inch is fabulous! How many inches have you lost so far? I just measured this am, and I'm almost 5 inches thinner in the midline. Not bad for a week, especially considering I wasn't doing any ab workout or such. I am once again, impressed with the protocol.

Oh that meatball soup is so good. I make that regularly, even when not on the diet, and Hubby goes crazy over it. My son will sit and eat all the zucchini out of it lol. I don't know if it's the vinegar or what, but I find myself craving it. I have made it with both chicken and beef broth, just to mix it up. I will have to give the cauliflower a go. I haven't been a huge cauliflower fan in the past, unless it was buffalo cauliflower. I tend to prefer the chicken but let me know if you try any other variations you like better.

Ooooh, I am going to see if I can come up with a protocol friendly buffalo-cauliflower recipe! That would be so good right now!

    PS., "hi governor!"

Jen - I actually read a book in 2001 that forever changed my life. It was called Sugar Busters. I also joined a Low Carb Forum and found so much helpful information there as well. All of what I learned, allowed me to let go of the "low-fat lie" and embrace a low carb WOE (way of eating) instead. Oh my - what an eye opener! What? Fat doesn't make you fat? Sugar does all of those bad things? I realized that I needed to take charge of my health and try to undo any damage already done. I was 45 at the time and had been diagnosed as pre-diabetic.

While I learned to read labels from that low carb awakening, I did not learn to read the actual ingredient list until hcg. Another eye opener! That has truly changed my life as well. Who knew they put a seaweed based thickener in Heavy Whipping Cream called Cargeenan? Who knew that all those "ose" ingredients were some form of sugar? Anyway... Yes, I have seriously changed my health for the better and am so happy I did.

Thank you again for all the work you're doing on the website. It is so wonderful to be able to communicate with people who are going through the same things. Everyone is so supportive, and the mods are GREAT!

Congrats on 7 lbs in your first week. You'll be in those skinny jeans before you know it!

Tracy - Thanks. Not sure if I am a trooper, but I did have a really rough 6 months of level 10 pain before they could schedule the surgery. I try to not think about it too much. It was kind of cathartic writing that all out for you guys. Thanks again.

Glad your weekend boundary pushing didn't cause a gain, and good job losing more inches!

AFM: Down another .5 lb this morning. My toe is still very hot, but my overall foot isn't as swollen, so that is good. I did have some bacon yesterday, but I am not sure how quickly that would cause a gout response. Guess I still need to do more research...

    Have a great week everyone!
I know that book! It's brilliant, really. Isn't it maddening, that the diet foods on the market, are exactly what make you gain weight? I can eat all the unprocessed salmon, avocado, chicken thighs, nuts, etc as I want, and not gain a pound (when my other foods are also "whole foods" like vegetables and quinoa; not processed, convenience foods.) I was a curvy size 6/8 for years before having my baby and I ate really well- I have always had curves (I like my curves) but I was seriously healthy and fit. Yet, the amount of fat in the foods I was eating... by traditional dieting standards, I should have been over 200 pounds eat so much.

The two culprits I that have put on some poundage in recent years (still nowhere near the size 20, 240+ pounds I was before Hcg in early 2000's) were 1. Eating convenience and processed foods while also not being able to work out much (it nipped my breastmilk production) and 2. Stress. OMG the stress of losing my brother, then my sister, and my 11 year old niece, all within a few months- I just didn't want to do ANYTHING for about 6 months. Where before, I was really enjoying working out and staying active, when all of this happened, I found myself bouncing back and forth between "ok, stay active Jenn" and "I just want to stay in bed and cry." Throw in all those times I was sharing my son's foods... (I've had more macaroni and cheese in the last year than I care to admit lol) and it was just a recipe for disaster. I have been in a size 14... although, as of this week (P2/Week 1) I think a 12 will fit now. I'm down almost 5 inches in my waistline and that does a lot for the jean size.

I got off track a bit there, but like you, Hcg was absolutely life-changing for me and it still is. What I learned about portion size, portion control, food choices, and recognizing emotional eating... omg Hcg even taught me how to know WHEN I'm really hungry. I honestly never knew before that, because I was just always eating!

Jenn - I can't even imagine the stress and sadness you went through. (((HUGS))) It hurts my heart to even read about it.

I've also seen "moms" who struggled with post-baby weight because they were eating all the bites and left-overs because we were all taught not to waste food. A vicious circle, really.

I was the one always on a diet and not losing weight... Constant dieting is almost as bad as overeating when you really think about it. What I love about hcg is that once you get out of P2, you go back to more "normal" eating, can eat larger portions, many, many calories, and as long as you don't eat processed food or sugar, it really tends to stay pretty steady (at least for me). Last summer, between rounds 2 and 3, I went for 3 months eating pretty much what I wanted and still lost a bit more weight. That was an amazing feeling! I went from a snug 16 to a comfy 6/8 in my journey. I measure more by that than how many pounds, because I know the weight is distributed differently than it ever was before. Such a transformation...

Congrats on 5 inches lost in your waist - and in such a short time! Isn't it great that it still works?!

Dang Jen, that's motivating - 5 inches! I tend to lose about a half inch to an inch across all borders. But we always notice the waist first :-). I couldn't tell you total inches lost but I wore a pair of slacks yesterday that I haven't had on since 2015. Woot!

Linder Lou, yes, this was meant to be my vanity round, I'm just going for that cushion Leez likes. I'm also worried about any damage control I may need after my visit to see my sister in NC. (Shenanigan calories...) so, I feel better that I have a plan and a way to center myself after the fun.

Evidently the governor likes crab cakes and mysteriously sauced chicken and brocolli in mega butter. I managed the meal with my stealth food moves from second grade. I mashed and cut and spread food around that plate like nobody's business. You shoulda seen me shaking blue cheese off those lettuce leaves and hiding brocolli under the potatoes. Then I wolfed down two boiled eggs in the car in the way home. Such a lady I am.

    down 1.4. Gov says hey!

Tracy - Ah, now I get it. And if the shenanigan damage is minimal, I guess you also have the option to just stop. Pretty smart planning.

OMG - that meal would be my worst nightmare! Fortunately, in all my rounds, I've only had to navigate 2 meals out. At least I was able to choose off the menu and not what someone else chose for me. Great job hiding food. Claiming allergies also works when desperate.

YAY - out of your stall with 1.4! How much of a cushion are you going for?

Yesterday, I was tempted to try on some slacks I bought last August just for fun. Got busy and didn't do it, but I think I will today. My size 8 capris have been getting easier and easier to button. That's always a good sign!

    Everyone, have a great Wednesday!

Yay this is good news all around!

haha, I love it! And, with that broccoli... omg, my mother used to overcook broccoli (for like 30 minutes) and then call that "dinner," so I gladly hide that stuff anytime I can. I'm pretty sure I'm broccoli-scarred for life. It took years to get over the oatmeal scarring as well... or as my father calls it, "wallpaper paste."

Linderlou, congrats on getting into your 2015 pants!

I loooove the "i have allergies" approach! haha, what a crack up. Did you try those pants on yet?

Yes, I tried on the pants. They fit, but are looser in the thighs than last year. They are black dress slacks, so I don't wear them often, but good to have if we have to dress up for a special occasion. All of my dressy clothes are XL or 16. Wearing a sack is not very flattering... In fact, this is inspiring me to go through our box of "cruise clothes" and donating them. Maybe this weekend...

That's so exciting. I love the cruise-clothes clean-out. I need to do that with my maternity clothes, which are piling up in my closet. I am really looking forward to breaking out the pre-baby clothes once again.

Shopping in your own closet is the best!
Linder Lou, I'm hoping for a cushion of 5 lbs or so.
I did not weigh today, I had a weird night last night and a weirder morning and it just wasn't in the cards. But another half inch off my waist! I think this is the smallest it's been since 2012/13 when I was a jogging fiend. I'm trying to get back there again, I was up to 3-4 miles a day. I was slow but consistent :-).
my work schedule now is more brutal. The money makes up for it for sure, but I miss being able to end my day at 4 pm. 10 hour days are no fun.
Friends, enjoy every hour of your day today!
