YES - the band IS back together!

Tracy - when I am "forced" to be in a social situation like that, it works best if I eat just before it. If there is food in my belly, it's easy to say no to the temptations. The Chardonnay on the other hand is harder... Well, since it's a work event, pass up the wine to keep your edge Club soda with a lime? I like the people/potatoes mantra - very positive spin!

I hate when I have trouble sleeping. Hope you work out a solution. Stress and lack of sleep definitely affect movement on the scale (or lack thereof...).

AFM: I am happy to be maintaining and eating "normally". Normal, meaning lower carb, but eating when I am hungry and eating until I am full. I feel like I am practicing how to be for the rest of my life.

Just - Hoping those vacation pounds drop for you very soon.

Have a lovely losing Tuesday y'all!

Well, it was a pseudo success. I'm down a half pound but let's see if tomorrow I don't jump back to the stall weight. I say this because although I did not indulge in the party food, I did have a cracker and a glass of white wine. And came home and went to bed. So, no supper. And oddly had the best nights sleep in a week. I'm not saying wine is the answer because I know from experience it never is, but I'm grateful for the rest I did get.
I'm my own experiment this week I guess!

Lou, my favorite bar drink is seltzer with lemon and or lime. I have accidentally been served tonic water (sugars!) instead of club soda way too often. I do love diet tonic water but it's hard to find in stores. At home, I'll drink seltzer with lime, acv, grated ginger and vanilla stevia. It's delicious.

Dr. Tracy returns tomorrow with her test results.

A cracker and glass of wine. Not bad. Hey, the cracker could have been a grissini, right? Good that you got some rest, at least.

I love diet tonic. So refreshing when it is hot out. I don't have trouble finding it in stores, but at a bar, no way. I actually keep several bottles on hand due to DH (who hates drinking water) being prone to leg cramps at night during warm weather. It works much faster than water to re-hydrate him and get rid of the cramps. Plus, he will drink tonic over water any day

    Tonic is a tonic :-)
I like your thinking though. Can Chardonnay be considered a fruit ?
I'm down 1.2 today, my subterfuge has its benefits . Had another crazy night last and missed supper again, by the time I got home it was very late, so I skipped it. I need to get back in the ball game!
What I did eat maybe got me to 350 calories, still though, I'm messing with Dr Simeon's science. He would not approve.
Kids, don't try this at home!

And I have another event tonight, Oy.

Maybe Chardonnay could be a fruit... It IS made from grapes after all, but I don't think grapes are on the OP. I think Janeen used to sub a glass of wine for one of her fruits and do OK.

Wow, you're down another pound (+.2)! That hcg is really doing it's job! And another event tonight! Girl you are BRAVE to be doing a round when you've got so many things going on. I would be sitting in the corner, shaking.

I agree, don't mess with the science and make sure you eat enough today.

    Have a wonderful Thursday everyone!

I'm back up .5 but I totally deserve it and am so grateful it's not more.
I made a rookie mistake last night. The catering included beef which when I asked, no oils or fats had been used to cook it, so I indulged. And then realized it was rib roast which is about the fattiest fat beef you can enjoy. I guesstimate I ate about 3 ounces which is only 400 CALORIES!!!!!!!!!! Man, it was good, though.

I've got 8 more days until I start my PI, no events on the horizon, no temptations, just focus. I've got nothing to lose but losing!
happy Friday dance here, I took the day off because I need to buy a car in the next couple weeks and I need to start looking. This will be my 4th car in as many years because I am not rich and I tend to buy used and they tend to only live about 2 years. So today I'm spending grownup money.
hope you had a good week and looking forward to a great weekend!

Tracy - so sorry about the rookie move. Good thing you realized that the meat tasted too good to be OP, and the damage was minimal. So hard to stay OP when you're not in control of preparing the food.

Car shopping - YIKES! My best advice is to check on lease-returns. They're newer-ish and seem to be in a bit better shape. We've owned 5 (over 30 years) and they seem to be the best bargain and last the longest. Oh, did I mention that DH is also an excellent auto mechanic? I guess that helps with the longevity... Good luck in finding something you want and that is affordable for you.

TGIF for sure! We will probably be working on the bathroom floors this weekend as the tile arrived yesterday.

    Enjoy your weekend too!

LinderLou, your DH reminds me of my veterinarian! He is the consummate help meet. When I visit with one of my cats, we have the best conversations and he seems to be a jack of all trades, Renaissance man, all that good stuff. I call him "Dr Does He Have A Brother"! (He does not )

Your car advice is awesome! It makes sense that previously leased vehicles will have an excellent maintenance record. I'm on it.

I skipped the weigh in this am, I've been POP since my excursion to the beef circus and decided to focus this weekend and hope I'll see a happy number on Monday morning. I've lost another inch off my waist and was able to wear a pair of size 10 jeans last night. Comfortably!

Sounds like your home building is moving along! Let me know when my room is ready
FWIW, my wasband was great at starting projects but not finishing (oh! That reminds me of our marriage!!) so I taught myself how to hang drywall, spackle, run electric, grout (miserable chore); put me to work!

Hey Tracy. A veterinarian he is not I am the animal lover and caretaker in our family (3 mostly outdoor cats). He is all things that need to be taken apart and fixed, or assembled... I do have to help with the assembly sometimes, but we now have two Ikea kitchens and two bathroom vanities under our belts, so we've gotten pretty good at it.

Wearing smaller clothing comfortably is SO exciting! YAY YOU! I finally weighed this morning and I'm above my window a little, but don't want to do a correction day. My toe is still a bit puffy with the gout, so I'm sure that isn't helping. I'm still trying to figure out how to eat so as not to keep aggravating it. I was in ketosis most of the week before last and the gout seemed to subside a bit. I've been out of ketosis this past week, so maybe that's the key. Think I will give it another try...

Your room is ready! It's the adjoining bathroom that is still in progress.

Oh geez, your wasband was one of those. Poor you. But great that you taught yourself how to do all of those things. We are way beyond all of that, except the grout. I never liked grouting either and even less liked keeping it clean. In this house, we're keeping grout to the minimum. In fact, the backsplash in the bathrooms is glass tiles (12" x 4") with minimal space between them and we opted for caulking instead of grout. It looks really clean! Hoping we are able to do the bathroom floors with minimum grout as well.

My DH is good at finishing projects, so I feel very lucky. The problem is that he is a perfectionist. While I appreciate the quality of the finished product, it just seems to take 10 times longer than originally planned. AND it didn't help that our contractor would not have the workers show up for weeks on end because they had a higher priority project to work on... What am I? Chopped liver? In the end, we fired him and just took over the project ourselves from the sheetrock on... We knew that "we" (read DH) would not be happy with the quality of work they would have done on the finish work, so why even go there? We are BOTH very happy with the finish work so far and will be for years to come.

Have a great weekend and wishing you the best of luck on your car shopping!

I remember those days of tracking ketosis. Requires some effort but if it works for you, then it's worth it. I did Atkins waaaay back in the day with great success. It was easy enough, though I do recall eating a clementine and feeling mad guilt. This old body doesn't respond to it the same way now.

I had the best day yesterday cooking my P2 food for this week and watching movies. I'm very boring!

I don't eat POP, more 2.0, so I'm my own experiment (let's tell Leez she should acronymize that phrase YOE -your own experiment)

On the menu, seafood cioppino, beef and mushroom stew, chicken curry, chicken and red cabbage slaw, lemon and garlic haddock with cauliflower and brocolli. Haddock is for an evening meal at home. I once made the mistake of reheating this dish in a microwave in a hotel room and suffered 36 hours of deep regret. True story.

    Tomorrow we weigh!

I did Atkins waaay back too. 2001, I think. It was great for stopping gaining, and I always felt satisfied hunger-wise, but after 20 lbs, I didn't lose any more. For ketosis, I don't do macros, I just lean to the "meatier" side of eating and I don't measure with the sticks. I can smell it in the bathroom

Your menu sounds great. Fish in a hotel microwave would be a good diet tool for me. I wouldn't be able to keep anything down.

    Have a magnificent Sunday!

Hey Tracy. Hope the weigh in went well this morning. Happy Monday!

AFM: I ate Keto yesterday and plan to all week. I'm not in ketosis yet, but I believe it takes a few days. My gout toe feels a little less swollen, so maybe it is helping... All I can do is try.
