After a big fat zero after VLCD3, where I got brave to add the oil, I learn from the 2.0 FB group this:

"Donít use the mct or coconut oil unless you count the calories. There are a lot of us on this page who canít use it without counting it because it stalls us."

I ask, I thought about your reply a little longer.... do you mean count the calories that are alotted for protein or for the total calories (that account for protein calories + carb calories? Do you know if a chapter in the book covers this? Thanks!

"Joni Lin itís not in the book and neither is the mct oil allowance. Dr z updated that in a blog post. If you use the oil subtract if from your calories and carb count like any other food."

I used less oil today than yesterday, but it sounds like I'll have little to no loss as a result. 😕

Grrrrrr. NOW I read this. It was probably spelled out here. I want to find the aforementioned blog....

    1st load day

Hi all! I am back to HCG after a few years! I lost 50 lbs. originally, but unfortunately life has been tough lately and I have put the weight back on!😢 My HCG came yesterday and I am loading today. Will concentrate on healthy fats and just a few treats. Breakfast was coffee with cream, sausage and cheese. I ordered pellets from NuImage for this round. Looking forward to reading about everyone's successes!

    Hi Everyone!
    Hi Kat
Welcome back! I had very good successes with HCG (also in 2011) where I got to my goal weight of 137. In 2016-17, life and bad food choices got in my way so I am back at it needing to lose not only what I had gained and an extra 20 lbs above that. Grr!
Carry--sorry to hear about the MCT. I am very interested in the 2.0 but I think I have gotten myself into such a mess with my eating over the past year that I need to stay with the original protocol.

Another small loss for me .6 overnight. I expect that I won't get any big losses...but to be fair, I loaded alot on 12/31 and 1/1 but there was no big gain during loading either--barely a pound.

Has anyone tried spinach and egg whites? I am sticking to beef and chicken but I need to shake things up a little bit. I saw a recipe somewhere for taking a big handful of spinach and cooking egg whites into it.
I am also skipping the breadsticks--they don't do anything for me and I am going to use the extra calories for protein.
My hunger pangs are not as bad today, but I am also keeping a cup of hot tea next to me or hot water with lemon. I have to believe my body is going to stop fighting the low calorie shock and start letting some of this weight go away.
I am also exercising a little bit. I am walking every day to get my 10,000 steps in so my son and I have something to do together. Maybe it is too much of a shock to my system since I wasn't exercising. At all. over the last 6 months. Hard to believe with over eating and not exercising I gained almost 45 pounds over 18 months...sigh

Well, I need to get moving and get my house cleaned up.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Eggs are actually allowed on protocol as an occasional protein choice. But not just eggwhites. You are instructed to use 1 whole egg plus 3 eggwhites as your protein portion. That should be delicious scrambled with spinach.

A 20-30 minute walk should cause no problems in P2, more than that is fine if you are used to it. But what most people find is that they feel well, but just don't have the endurance for anything strenuous.

If you are constantly experiencing hunger (especially if it happens after eating), your dose may need adjusted. You can check by skipping a day and paying attention to how you feel in the late afternoon to early evening. If hunger abates noticeably, it means you should drop your dose. What dose are your currently taking?

Hi all! VLCD1 was a success as I lost my loading weight of 2.8#, of course I am very happy about that. I really did not experience much hunger and I even went to the gym and took a circuit training class. I am doing 2.0 this time and came home and made a 0 carb protien shake which I absolutely loved. Had a big salad with turkey breast for lunch and shrimp with broccoli and cauliflower for dinner. We shall see how this goes, I am not opposed to going back OP if I donít experience good losses. I am not going to use the MCT oil and will most likely stick to the OP meats and fish. We have had my boyfriendís son and daughter here from out of town since Christmas Eve, and he is taking his daughter to the airport as I write this. As much as I love them, I am soooooo happy to have my house back. I spent the last three hours cleaning and putting things back together. I gained 4 pounds while they were here, too, so now have more to lose. I am sure I will be doing more than one round over the next few months.

It IS hard to maintain and not gain during the holidays especially when we indulge. You might be surprised how well you do on 2.0. I just read about a girl on the 2.0 FB group ad she's lost 19# in 14 days WITH a four day stall! What! And Bawdywench in one of the other groups here lost 8# in six VLCDs. How is that possible?

Chin up, Lulu. It's going to get better from here on out.

    Howdy all!

Just a quick drive by. So far, so good. Over the weekend I tried some different OP foods. I had egg/egg white with spinach (very tasty) and made cabbage with beef. I have a few portions to take to work this week.

I am down 6 lbs for the week--not lightning fast, but losses are losses. I haven't been hungry and was able to get my 10K steps in every day this week with no real issues.

I am thinking about dropping 1 of my fruits and adding a bit more protein because I think the fruit may be making me more "crave-y" Maybe I will try one more week with the 2 fruits and go to one the week following. I hate to mess with things when I am losing. I am preparing for the dreaded VCLD 10 dreaded stall, so maybe that will be the days I try it out.
I don't do the grissini either--it seems counter productive for me.
    Hope everyone is hanging tough

    Have a great Monday!

Today is P2 D1. I hate to see that additional 3.4# from loading
Food prep for the week was accomplished and I'm set to go. The plan is a 28 day round and hopefully I will have the mindset to go longer to use up all my hcg. We'll see...

Vlcd4 for me and down 3.6#, only .8 loss this morning but it is okay. I am doing 2.0 and had an extra protien shake last night because I was trying to get all my protien grams in. I did not do that the first two days because I did not realize we are supposed to get all the grams in even if I go slightly over the calorie limit. I donít think I am going to worry about that after a slower loss today. I want to get the most out of this first week as I know the losses are higher. I am supposed to eat 546 protien calories and 136 grams of protien. I ate a salmon salad today so a lot of calories were had at lunch. During phase 3, I was not sensitive to salmon so I hope it does not cause a problem on the scale tomorrow. Maybe I should have waited on the salmon. Argh!

Hi Leez and January Loaders...Well, I had a snafu in that I didn't get my injections until today so I am going to start loading tomorrow...January 9. I am scared, nervous and hopeful. I want this to be the last effort in changing my eating habits once and for all...I am so sick of yo-yo dieting. I'm hoping you guys will help me along the way. So I will start loading with good fats tomorrow and do the injection as well.....thats how I understand it. And I do want to do some form of gently exercise, like walk in the pool for 20-30 minutes, to help me knees. I am planning to go for the gusto and do this for 46 days. I have a trip planned for Bali in April and I'd like to drop 40 pounds. I'm currently around 250--do you think that's possible? I sure do hope so. I'd like to be able to walk in Bali and really enjoy myself....be more comfortable if you know what I mean. Thanks for your support and Let's all do this together.

That's correct. The HCG takes 3 days to come to full strength, and the good fats give it something to work on until it can mobilize your fat stores. Fat is key to loading. Its what keeps you comfortable the first few days of the low calorie phase.

It's safe to lose 40 pounds in a round if you are 100 pounds or more overweight when you start.

Your exercise plan is reasonable, go for it.

A trip to Bali sounds like a great motivator to stay on plan. But like you, the most important thing to me has been to find a way to make a life-long change. It will be super important to do P3 correctly so you can be on your way to changing your food lists to one that is all friendly to you. Many of us stayed fat because we regularly eat things that our body's don't deal well with. P3 can help you identify those things.
