January 2020 Loaders - Holding on to Hope

Welcome January Loaders, this is your thread. Use it to check in, support each other, share concerns and questions.

The name of this group, Holding on to Hope , was chosen in honor of the Rose Parade theme for 2020, which was "hope". It seems a fitting way to start a brand new decade.

We can hold on to the hope of success at the end of your round because we can be confident that HCG works. Nevertheless, you do have to "hold on" and put in the work of staying faithful to the protocol.

So hold on to hope, hold on to each other, and hold on to the results you will achieve at the end of your round.

Wishing everyone all the best through this coming month and indeed, in the coming new year.

Hello! I was here some time ago and really appreciated all the support Leez and the others gave me when I started my journey 50 pounds and 4 maybe 5 rounds ago. I got to my lowest weight this past summer at 147 and have gained 12 pounds back after a 17 day European vacation and the holidays. I am using pellets and this is day 1 of vlc. Hope more people join this thread!

    HI!

Hi Gastro and Lulu! Looking forward to dropping a lot of weight with you!
I am back after my Planned Interruption. I had to go to a funeral yesterday and the food was super salty. I was appalled when I stepped on the scale this morning but I could not get my rings on, so I am taking that weigh in with a grain of salt ha ha.

Leez, I bought some 1000 mg Vitamin C, I take a GNC multivitamin, D, a probiotic, and a Potassium Magnesium Supplement. Is there any other supplement you would recommend? I want to stay healthy and prevent any weakness. I am also not going hard on the water so my electrolytes stay balanced.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Rkthin, I see we are both doing pellets, I have done well with them the last few rounds. Today was day 2 of vlc and I lost my loading weigh plus 1 so I am happy. I don’t take vitamin C, wondering if I should.

Make sure you are using pink salt or gray salt daily. You can even sprinkle some in your water. That will protect your electrolytes.

The only other supplement you might want to have on hand is a plain magnesium supplement. You will want to increase magnesium if you encounter constipation, which is a common side effect of the protocol. Magnesium and extra vitaminC will usualy resolve that overnight for you.

Welcome Lulu, I remember! I hope you have a great round. Week one losses are always so motivating, which is a good thing when the slow down hits later.

    Hi Leez,

Thank you for the thoughtful reply about supplements. I feel so stupid that I forgot about pink or grey salt, and to get some plain magnesium. I will take care of that today and make a note of this in my HCG word file for any future rounds. (So bonus maybe you won’t get the same question from me again and again ha ha.)

Another question: I typically do not add salt to my food as I get fluid retention from it really easily. So I am always grateful to notice how adding the pink salt while on hHCG helps me. My question is, Approximately how much salt a day do you recommend? I notice that I always feel freezing cold and slightly thirsty on hHCG, so herbal tea always seems like a good idea which leads to too much fluid intake and compounds the problem of electrolytes so I watch my fluid intake carefully to stay out of trouble!

I am trying to increase my step count from my recent pathetic sedentary 5,000 - 6,000 per day back to 8500-10,000 steps. I know Dr. S. recommended walking, do you have any idea how many steps or miles he had in mind? Do you think this will help or impede weight loss?

My gym has hydro massage beds where is like a water bed you lay on and it gives you a great massage through your clothes. No oil obviously. Do you think this is against protocol since it says no massages? Or do you think Dr S was referring to the oil laden massages?

What Do you think about LaCroix flavored bubbly water? Are they on protocol? Like herbal tea is?

Thank you Leez! By the way, great thread title!

Just woke up and already down 3 pounds and yesterday was a mini load day.

    Have a great day everyone!

Generally a tsp of mineral/pink/gray salt spread over the day should be sufficient. Some people that retain water from salt notice that it doesn't happen if all their salt is mineral salt. Hopefully, that will apply to you. I don't know if you sweeten your tea, but if you do, sprinkling in some pink salt enhances the sweetener without making the tea salty, and will also help get your minerals in.

20-30 minutes of daily walking during P2 is helpful and not too much exercise. It helps keep your gut moving too.

If the bubbly water is sodium free, and doesn't contain off-protocol sweeteners, it should be fine. Technically, only coffee, tee and water are on protocol, but people have used some bubbly non-soda stuff successfully.

On the massage, the hydro bed sounds awesome. The prohibition of massage had more to do with the roughness and pummeling that inflames the tissue structure in the subcutaneous fat. Dr. Simeons thought it inhibited the work of the HCG. Of course, avoiding oil on the skin is important too. You'll have to judge whether the massage from your gym machine is gentle enough.

    Congrats on that nice drop.

Hi. I'm a newbie. On day 3 of P2. Very hungry, I thought it'd be a little easier than it is and I'm worried it'll be harder than I thought. I've looked up recipes but some of them seem to contradict the protocol I was given, like mixing veggies and stuff. Anyway, happy to finally be doing something about my weight!

    Hi Journey, and welcome.

You should not be "very hungry" in P2. hunger should be non-existent or only a little right before regular meal times. Lets trouble shoot and see what is going on.

What is your delivery method and dose of HCG? Did you take the HCG during your 2 days of loading? Are you following the original protocol menu here: https://hcgdietinfo.com/hCG-Diet-Man...00-calories-44

I am following the original protocol. I did do a few tiny things before realizing they weren't ok, like I had a flavored tea or had cauliflower rice once cause I didn't realize it wasn't approved. I don't know my HCG dose (injections) cause it's mixed by the doctor I go to. I may not have fat loaded enough the two days, I thought I did. But maybe not. My counselor said it's normal to be hungry the first 5 days of Phase 2. Today is day 4 so I'm hopeful.
