It is normal to be "a little hungry" the first few days, yes. But not to the point where you can't ignore it or make it go away with a hot drink.

It is important to know your dose. Often doctors and clinics will give you a dose that is too high, and that can cause hunger and/or poor losses. Many don't even know that dose adjustment can fix those issues. (Mine didn't). The real problem is that if your dose is wrong, you will be losing the wrong kind of weight (muscle and subcutaneous fat instead of visceral fat) and you won't be able to stabilize at the end. So its important to be on the right dose and fix any issues with that quickly. That can be different for different people unless you are taking HCG by the intramuscular method. In that case, a 125iu dose is good for nearly everyone. You can call your doctors office and find out your dose.

It could just be that your hunger is from an inadequate load, and if so you should be ok in a couple of days. Stay the course for now, and if you can find out your dose, that may tell us something.

Hi everyone! I went to a clinic for my first round and they had me on too high of a dose, as soon as I lowered it to 125 my hunger was gone except before meals.

I think I am consuming too much salt, is there a daily amount of mg we should be consuming on 500 calories. I see Leez suggested 1t, if that is all, I am in trouble and will be much more careful. I don’t retain water easily from salt but have only lost 2.6 pounds from my starting weight (not loading weight) in three days. 4 pounds from loading. I guess I expected more. I am 15 pounds to goal weight.

Hang in there, it gets better after the first five days, for me anyway.

There isn't any daily limit to salt. The 1 tsp was a suggestion of enough salt to help keep electrolytes balanced. Generally, you are better off using mineral salt rather than table salt, which is caustic to the system and is generally the culprit behind water retention issues with salt.

Lulu, your loss seems on track considering that you are close to goal. I wouldn't be concerned at this point.

Hi all. I am starting to load this weekend, so will be joining you all. I was going to try an alternative method to try and lose, but still have to read up on it some more, and lately I just can't focus reading, due to other things going on in my life these days.
I know this diet works, and have a friend at work who is going to try it for the first time, so will be exciting and am hoping it works great for her.

Jayk that is great that you have a work friend to do this with you. It is so helpful to have someone to real-life buddy with in P2.

Leez, I have a friend who is doing this round with me and started vlc last Sunday. She bought patches from Australia and has not lost any weight but is not hungry. She sent me the ingredients, and I don’t think there is any hcg in them. Could you verify? Sorry, the picture is sideways.

If she has to start all over with pellets, which she has on hand, should she load again?

Hmm. It does look like HCG is a title on that ingredient list rather than being included in it. As an ingredient, it would normally be listed as HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadoptropin)

But I'm not familiar with that rather odd mix of ingredients. I am suspicious. Those are the kind of ingredients used in place of HCG in homeopathic fakes. But on homeopathics, there usually dilution strengths following the HCG ingredient (something like 3x 12x 60x). It is possible that Australia might list ingredients differently. It would be best for her to contact the supplier and find out, and also what dose it is delivering. No losses in the first week is a big red flag. Sometimes fake product does suppress appetite, but that effect comes from the other ingredients, and masks that the HCG is not real.

Here is an old thread with reports from patch users that might have some useful info: All HCG PATCH users!

If she finds that she has not been on real HCG, yes, she will need to start over again with 2 loading days.

I am a newbie to the diet and forum. I am looking forward to joining the group. I started last Saturday. I already am down 6 pounds and have never had weight come off so quickly, so it is very heartening. I have my office holiday party tomorrow night so that will be a challenge but with a full week under my belt I feel a bit stronger in my resolve.

Welcome Vanessa, and so glad to hear that your round is going well.

I have found that while in party situations in P2, a good strategy is to walk around with a drink with bubbly water and a lime wedge. It looks like a vodka gimlet, and if you have a drink in your hand, its less likely people will push food at you. And if they do, you can say "I have my drink. I'm good!"

Yes I have started the HCG protocol once again. I had a 40 lb weight loss the first time a couple years ago and kept it off by not eating many carbs. Then I went back to full on eating carbs and the weight came back. Now I am back on the protocol supervised by my doctor ( 50/50 mix HCG-water). I am on day 8 of a 28 day protocol and I am down 10.2 lbs, but I am sure 5 lbs of that original weight was water. The first few days were really rough so I have been trying to adjust my dose. According to HCG CHICA: (https://hcgchica.com/hcg-dosage-how-...he-right-dose/) 250ml is way to much. On my last protocol a couple years ago I found that 150 ml worked well. Yesterday I did 160 ml and it did not seem like enough. If I do too much HCG it makes my joints hurt. I have a rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. So my question is does any one have any more information to share about HCG dosing?

hi tess, we'll try to help you out with your dose. It happens fairly often that doctors and clinics will prescribe a dose that is too high. This causes hunger and poor losses. Its important to get your dose right so that you are losing the right kind of fat, and not waisting muscle.

Did you mix your HCG yourself? What do you mean by a 50/50mix?

What is telling you that you need a dose change, and also what is telling you 160iu is not enough? Please describe your hunger or other symptoms.

Thanks for your reply Leez. The ratio means 50% HCG and 50% bacteriostatic water. The HCG was mixed by my doctor and I go in each week to weigh in and get my shots for the next week. The hunger feels like a burning in my stomach. Water only quenches it for a short time. I did 160iu yesterday and was hungry later in the day. Today I did 190iu and have been hungry all day. Maybe I will try I70iu tomorrow.
