Thread: July 2013 Loaders

There's nothing like joining here (I joined in last Wednesday for VLCD #1), only to have postponed VLCD to today ... I hope my accounability is not ruined, unfortunately my husband reminded me of 2 events and convinced me to start today. Originally I was starting at 138.2, but per the folks at the HHCG place, they helped me figure out how to postpone, and said to just eat high fat healthy foods for yesterday ... kind of like a fake load. They suggested eating a lot of avacodos, so that's what I did. I'm up .8, making start weight at 139. I really want to get to 120. But I REALLY am starting today. My apologies for announcing my entry last week, and not following through. However, I am truly mentally prepared and have stocked the fridge for POP foods. I'm ready and will be coming here each morning. I really look forward to it.

Anyway, Ginsil, welcome to our group. So sorry you are having hunger and pain as well...that is no fun. I was laughing at the name of the company where you meds came from..too funny. And sure hope they ARE reliable. Sounds like you have done your research, so you should be good. Hang in there.... I am doing homeopathic drops, on my 5th round, and have always done homeopathic drops, or pellets.

Emc, I have never tried that soda, although I am not a soda fan, but sounds interesting as I love root beer.

Scott, I forgot to thank you for the yummy strawberry dessert. I am so going to make that soon!!!

Anyway, wishing everyone a happy scale moment in the morning...
Eva, That smoothie is the greatest. good luck with it!

GinSil, welcome! Maybe you're just detoxing and this time it's a bit more difficult? The first few days are the hardest. Give it a day or two more, drink lots of water, maybe an Epsom salt bath and then see if you're feeling better?

Only lost .2 since yesterday, but that's OK. Funny thing about this diet is that people SWEAR that I weigh less than I do. It takes fat away in all the right places. It is still hard to not think about the "score" which for me is the number on the scale though.
EMC, as longs that scale keeps moving down. .2 is a loss it may not be the ones we want, but it is still going the right way.

Scott definitely feel the same about the scale. When in P3, find that I don't worry as much.
Vspotto - I am on the verge of the 140's, SO excited!!
Niane - will talk Monday or Tuesday?
Hope everyone has a GREAT week!
WOW Lisa! 2 pounds, way to go! That is super, congratulations.

Just wanted to check in and wish everyone good luck today.
Mel, that is a good loss! Those .5's add up by the end of the week.

    Vlcd 9

VLCD 9: I killed it this morning on the scale. I weigh 237.2 pounds. That is a 2.8 pound loss from yesterday!

I fear it may be a false victory. I fell asleep and didn't eat dinner and I didn't finish drinking my water for the day. I won't be shocked if tomorrow brings a stall or a "pointy " loss. I have anxiety and took some medicine for it and it knocked me smooth out. I slept from about 4 pm until this morning at 5 am. I don't take the medicine every day just when I have an attack or episode. I probably should have broken the pill in half. I will if it happens again during P2 that is for sure.

    Good luck everyone!
    Scott

    Morning losers

It looks like people are doing well! Steady losses!
emc,Weekends are tough aren't they? I wanted to guzzle a few ciders this weekend! I just read the weight loss apocalypse..you may like it... It's about changing our mind set on this protocol from a diet to a life long change; and avoiding the loss /gain/loss..It may make the P2 time a little easier! It helps me a bit..
wow Lisa! 2! Thats great! You must be doing the happy dance!
The smaller losses are tough, meli! I hope you reach your goal, too! You will!!!
Looks like you're killing it Scott! Thanks for your positivity! It's fun having a guy in the group!
    Welcome back Tobysmom!

AFM; down .8 today! I'm surprised as I didn't expect it. I did have a detox bath though..maybe that helped..?
(1 cup of epsom/sea salts, 1 cup of baking soda, a few drops of liquid ginger as was recommended to me here. You put it in the hottest water you can stand and soak in it for at least 20 minutes, but no more than 30 minutes. Supposedly it pulls out toxins and shakes things up to break a stall or gain. GET OUT OF THE BATH SLOWLY!!! You will be dizzy!)

I had a good weekend. This city is glorious in the summer!! Have a good day all.

well, I ended up having a loss when I weighed again an hour later yesterday morning. was down .9 lbs to 139.2, so I decided that was a-okay with me and took it as a real weight for the day.

this morning was even better, down to 137.4 lbs. That means I lost 10.1 lbs my first full week of VLCD's. yay! The most I ever lost was in R1, and that was 7 lbs and something. This is really awesome. Love it. I did gain about 2 extra lbs loading this time, compared to my first round, but hey, still a bigger loss overall. I think cutting out the melba/grissini really makes a difference.

I even ate about 20 fresh cherries yesterday. that was as rogue as I went. I also made the strawberry smoothie that Scott posted. (Thank you, Scott!) It was delicious. I bought bags of frozen fruit and also made mixed fruit and juice smoothies for my son and my boyfriend's two kids. they were happy as they sat out by the pool with their frosty drinks.

I'm only 9.4 lbs from my goal now. and that's three lbs under what made my boyfriend proclaim, in March, that I was "too skinny". yay. I likes skinny. (Skinny with curves, that is. you guys have seen my picture! curves are part of the deal. always and forever. durnit.)

It feels good to be "deep" into the 130's. I like the way 137.4 looks on my scale. The numbers are so, so pretty.

    ***

Scott, congrats on another fantastic loss!

emc nyc, that soda looks good. I want to try it. wonder if they sell it in kentucky... you're right. p2 weekends are the worst! makes p3 seem like a piece of cake in comparison! I hope I only have one more left. would like to end in about 10 days if I can lose fast but I suspect I am two weekends away from being done. (thanks for the frapp tips!!!)

meli, you're getting close to your goal! how long is this round for you? how long do you have left?

vspotto, glad you're losing again! yay for the 150s!!! when did you break your stall? what worked?

eva, hope you enjoyed your caramel apple dessert last night! it sounds great. I have cinnamon stevia. I might try it with that instead. thanks for the positivity boost. I actually took my measurements yesterday and they were freaking UP a little from 10 days ago!!! seriously? ack.

ginsil, it can be tough at the beginning as our bodies go through detox. maybe your body is more used to sugar and carbs this time than it was six years ago. I've done four rounds and have differed in my initial response each time. I had a lot of nausea and headaches during the first week or two of the second round in particular.

tobysmom, welcome back! sounds like you are ready to go.

lisa, congrats on the 2 lbs. awesome job!

kitty, nice .8 lb loss today! yay!

Wow. Great loss Scott. I swear if I didn't have kids, I would make myself pass out in bed as soon as I got home from work!
NIghts are tough on me. I seem to have most my hunger and snack longings in the night.
Well I guess weekends are super hard on most of us...I was just reading through all the posts. I had a super bad one. I totally cheated. I was wanting to eat so much and TOM came and I hadn't lost a single pound in almost a week, so I just lost my discipline. The super wierd thing is....150 still. I just can't budge! But I am so grateful for it and I am back on track and devoting myself to clean protocol eating.
I really don't suggest tweaking, (from a tweaker wanting to stop) I think it leads to loose discipline and that can lead to a big cheat. And it is so hard to get back on track after a cheat. I NEVER cheated my first rounds and I was so so disciplined and didn't mess around with the protocol. NOw I can't seem to stop even when I really want to. My hat off to those of you staying so strong! It really is impressive.
I really want this to be my LAST round and I don't have any room to mess around!

Welcome all the new people. Having the support really helps.
I too have an unsupportive friend and it makes it really hard when she constantly tries to get me to stop.
This round I actually started sooner than planned because she went out of town and I wanted to avoid all her nagging and unsupoortive comments.
I have pretty much learned to keep my mouth shut about this diet. My husband knows and a fellow hcger and that is all I told this time.
I am finding it works better not having to explain or defend.
I notice a lot of people don't even notice if you are eating or not if you have a drink in your hand. I walk around with my glass of water, or can of mineral water. Also "I already ate, thanks" works well too.

Well here is to staying strong and motivated and to getting the best results in the least amount of time.

bikini, good that you didn't gain despite weekend cheats. whew. close call! and now you can get right back on track. you're right. small cheats lead to bigger cheats. it's so hard when we stall, too, because we at least want to see results from our self deprivation! I can be good all day if I have a loss to spur me that morning. but a stall? ack. it makes you crazy and makes you eat whack-a-doodle things!

it's easier when those around you are eating healthy. my boyfriend is avoiding wine and beer right now, for the calories, so that makes it easy for me to not drink. it's hard when there's an open bottle of wine calling my name, or a rum drink out by the pool. instead, we're both drinking iced tea and water. luckily, he's very happy eating the healthy stuff I cook for HCG. just make larger portions for him and add rice or orzo. so that's good.

Hey all! So yesterday I had a breakdown and wanted to completely give up. I had a small piece of bread (just a bite) and stopped myself there. I've been stalling for like the past 4 days (constantly up and down around 147.something). So this morning I woke up to 147.0 and my pants are too big for me. I've dropped from a size 8/9 to a 6/7 . So, I'm back on track and have my hopes back up. I will hopefully stick to plan and just push forward. This has been a really tough round though.

On another note, I wore short shorts for the first time in 8 yrs yesterday.

    I'm 26 and 5'6"
    Round 1: April-May 2013: Went from 182 lbs to 156.6

    Total Lost: 21.4 lbs

Finished School and Graduated December 2013!! (which meant lots of stress for finals...)

HI hcghelp. SOme people load for 3 days..you could do one more if you like, and feel you need it! But only one more day as the HCG is in your system. Good luck!
