VLCD 3 - down 1.6 this morning. Our air conditioner is broken and I did not get a good night's sleep in our hot house. I know 1.6 is good but I associate good sleep with good losses on hcg and I wish I had slept better.

Coco - thanks for the motivation.

Liz - for recipes, I like hcg chicken salad, I find it to be refreshing.
HCG chicken salad - chopped chicken breast, 1 diced apple, 3-4 stalks of celery, diced onion (optional) with dressing: 1 T ACV, juice of lemon, 1 doonk stevia, S&P, dash cinnamon
Last night I made chili (ground beef with chopped tomatoes, spices and a little bit of beef broth) and beef with cabbage (ground beef with finely shredded cabbage and beef broth). The chili cooked down to a small amount but the beef and cabbage looks like a big portion because of the cabbage.

For my first round (before I knew about the forum or pounds and inches) I went through a Dr's office, and the food list was modified to include lean pork and peppers, mushrooms and zucchini, and mixing veg was ok. It worked for me then so my eating has stayed a little rogue in subsequent rounds. Yesterday I had sliced chicken breast with peppers and onions and half a grapefruit for lunch and ground beef with mushrooms and onions and another half grapefruit for dinner.

Today I made strawberry and cucumber infused water with a slice of lemon, yum! And I am having cabbage and beef with half a grapefruit for lunch. I poached chicken breasts this morning to make chicken salad later on.

R4P2VLCD1 – Went to bed feeling so stuffed and uncomfortable. Happy to be VLCD today! Weighed and measured this morning. Depressing numbers, but I know from experience that I will have the loading lbs gone in no time and I can get to work on the rest.

Coco – Wow! Great Loss! Congrats! I’ve tried keeping up with my regular workouts when on hcg and I just get too hungry, so I compromise by skipping the gym on the weekdays and do a 30 minute walk with the dog instead. 1hr yoga on Saturdays and a 4 mile hike on Sunday. On my hike I keep an apple or grassini on me, just in case I get light headed. I have hcg workout envy

Hey – I don’t like needles either, but I think you’ll be surprised how easy it is. My method – turn my head/gaze to the side (don’t look), inhale then exhale during the 3 second shot. Happy loading!

Liz – thank you! Happy to be here! HCG is unforgiving. Good news on taking off 1 of the 2 from the cheat, stay the course and the 2nd one will be off before you know it! I am a big fan of P2 chili (mine is in the crockpot as I type). For lunch today I will be enjoying taco salad (I lose good with beef, not so good with shrimp): Beef, chopped cabbage, homemade salsa – I warm it up and enjoy! Very filling and satisfying! I eat the chili and taco salad even when not on HCG. Also, my favorite Saturday night dessert is strawberry sorbet : a mix of frozen and non-frozen strawberries in blender. Depending on the strawberries and my mood, I may add a little stevia for sweetness.

Hallie – Awesome job on the1.6! I’m a little rogue too. On the weekends I do a veggie scramble with mushrooms and peppers and I mix my veggies with almost every meal. Has not seemed to interrupt my losses either.

Today i made cabbage with beef n tomatoes. Eating a larger portion than P2 since i have not started the diet yet. Just getting used to this style of eating for next week when i start.

So cabbage beef tomatoes is a little weird for me. i noticed i gain weight or stay the same when i have any of these much less the combo. Anybody else notice this? I read somewhere that cabbage and beef are slower to digest so it just takes a day to see the weight loss, and tomatoes are inflammatory so its just temporary water weight. I hope that is the case.

I recently made chicken salad using cottage cheese mayo ( Blend, cottage cheese, some dijon mustard, tablespoon ACV in the blender) . i cut up chicken, celery, apple and used this mayo as dressing. Very tastttty~

H2H - i'm going to try ur desset strawberry sorbet this weekend. I never eat dessert during hCg since i feel like i am on a diet and shouldnt eat dessert. The sorbet looks healthy and tasttyy so iam going to go for it

    Happy losses everyone.

    Good morning everyone. Well, afternoon.

I am pretty much jealous of everyone here.

Coco- Awesome losses, I really envy your dedication to the gym. What is your usual routine? Any programs you particularly enjoy? When you make a ticker on ticker factory it gives you a link you can bookmark then you put in your pin update your weight and date and save it. Your signature will automatically update.

Happy- welcome. Congrats on keeping so much of your weight off. 60 lbs is a huge accomplishment. Gaining 15 lbs over a year and a half is really a slow gain. I am sure you will be successful again.

Hey- I use sugar free hazelnut creamer in my coffee and it hasn't been too bad. I just make sure it is low in calories and fat. I don't like the 800 cal protocol, but what I did take away from it is things should be <2g sugar and <2g fat. I am sure you will be ok with the needle, pull up the volume into the syringe and hold it in your hand until it warms up, it will sting if it is still cold. Pinch your skin taught and push it in quickly. Inject slowly. I tried to numb my skin with an ice cube the first day but then I got worried about the site becoming contaminated after I had already cleaned it with the alcohol pad. Make sure the alcohol fully dries before you inject so it doesn't sting. I rub the site after my injection. I can't even see the dot from the injection afterwards and my skin usually shows every bump and scrape. I find that to be the most convincing part of how tiny the needle is.

Liz- When I did this last time the thing that got me through was chicken/lemon/spinach soup. I don't have the patience to make my own bland broth so I buy it from the store and am just cautious of the nutrient label/ingredient list. I cook the chicken up with seasonings add chicken broth, a bunch of lemon juice because I love it too much and some spinach in to wilt before taking it off the heat. Lately I have been eating Chicken Orzo egg soup and obviously we can't have the orzo, but in looking up the recipe I learned you can slowly add an egg to the broth while it is warming up and it makes the broth kind of creamy/thicker which is nice if you are allowing yourself to eat egg. The extra broth would always fill me up and not impact my losses.

Hallie/Msaries- how do you cook cabbage?

As for me- yesterday was a rough day. I posted in the p2 forum looking for guidance but so far haven't gotten a response. I am still hungry. Yesterday I went to work and found a bunch of boxes of stock to be unpacked which left me hungry. I ate some cherries I had left in the breakroom after I had cleaned out my fridge. I ate my dinner and protein shake and was still hungry last night. Water and tea don't help much. I think I felt better when my dose was 150? Today I am trying 170. I am really desperate to stop feeling so hungry. I had planned on dieting for 30 days but if I can't figure out this out I will be lucky to make it 21 days. I have no idea whether I should be adjusting up or down. I am still losing weight, but it isn't right to feel this damn hungry.

My Goals: Break reckless eating habits: sugar craving, over eating, night time eating, and cravings. And (my new years resolution every year) Drink more water!

But above all I promise to remember that nutrition is not a punishment- it is medicine.

H2H - I hear you on the hunger I got so hungry yesterday I had to eat some protein again yesterday. I ended up eating an egg white and a whole egg scrambled and it worked for me. I did it late in the afternoon. I think some people do it as a "breakfast" kind of thing, but I'm worried that I will get hungry again by 8:30 and eat again, so if I'm going to do it I'm going to do it late. Mind you I have no idea what I'm talking about when it comes to HCG, but I think the 90 calories I'm eating plus the 500 + loss helps, but as I said no clue, and I haven't read enough posts from others to really be able to tell the difference.

Hey - The shots really are kind of anti-climatic. Its like oh wow look how easily you went into my skin. There isn't even a hole or usually any blood. Let us know how it goes.

Boss- I usually try to do two one hour long runs during the week, and a two hour run on of the weekend days. I try to lift 3 times a week, but its usually about twice. I'm totally going to have to nix the two hour run while on this. I wwill probably ending up half the house. I've always been good with working out, but I just eat way too much. I'm a total foodie, and I know where "all the good places" to eat are for a reason.

I woke up down two pounds this morning. I'm at a 9.1 lb loss so far and I'm only on P2D4. Its got me super excited. I am currently wearing a size 8 skirt I couldn't fit before. I'm pretty sure I couldn't fit this skirt for months. Its actually kind of loose now in the waist. The weight loss keeps me going, I don't know what I'm going to motivate myself if I stall.

I had 4 Splenda today. I know sweetners can do weird things so I'm keeping that in mind. I'm kind of hungry, but I think it might be thirst. Its super hot here today, and I've been driving back and forth since I got up this morning.

I hope everyone is staying hydrated!

Boss - sorry for your struggles, I hope you find your right dose. Is your hcg fresh? Wish I could help more! I have successfully added extra protein in the past when the hunger was too much. Even on the 500 calorie protocol I have had a hard-boiled egg (with the yolk!) or other protein just to make it to the next meal and it did not seem to impact my losses.

Hey - My favorite trick for the injection is to gently but firmly touch the tip of the needle to the skin where you want to inject. In some spots it will cause pain, and in others you will not feel it at all, so you can probe around a little and find a spot where you do not feel it.

Boss – I tried to respond in the forum earlier, but it didn’t post. So here it goes once more in here.
Are you physically hungry or mentally hungry? Once you are able to determine this, it might be easier to manager. For physical hunger I drink a lot of water, seltzer water too (La Croix from Target is good). For mental hunger I try and ‘change the subject’ in my head. For example I have a habit of coming home and having a piece of lowfat Swiss. During P2 I need to start a new habit – like going straight outside and playing with the dog.

Preparation has been the key to my successful rounds. I keep a ziplock of grassinis and an apple in my bag at all times. Just never know when a meeting with friend will turn into a long walk at the beach and I don’t want to run out of energy – which on 500 calories can happen.

The hunger might be due to your dosage. Can you test it with a pregnancy test?

Coco – 9.1lbs VLCD4 is AWESOME! Congrats! The first week, the losses are a lot of fun. They will most likely slow, even stall in week 2 and 3, but stay the course and the pounds will come off. I always stall and when I do, I go back to my measurements to keep me motivated.

Hey girls was wondering if you had any advice. Anyone know the difference between yoga and pilates? Which would be better during p2? Want to get one of them for beginners to use with some light walking mixed in.

Me too! Week 2 is always slow (or even a stall for 3-4 days) so I watch my averages more than the daily losses. As long as you're losing 0.5 or more on average you can make amazing losses during a round.
    Good Karma

Rugzby- either would probably be good for p2 but it depends on your fitness level and what type of yoga you are doing. Pilates is usually going to be more intense, it really works your core and focuses on strengthening where as the typical yoga people think about is suppose to be relaxing with deeper stretching. Of course you can have intense yoga sessions with a faster pace through the sequences and more intense moves, but pilates is more of a what you would typically think of as a workout, focusing on stabilizing your core and working through the burning sensation of repetitive motions.

No reason why you cannot try out both and see what fits you better, or even do both!

Thanks Boss! Might just try both. Maybe I could do pilates one day and then yoga the next to stretch out the sore muscles from the day before. This is why I love you girls, always so full of wisdom.

Hello Rugzy. The big difference is often Pilates is done on a machine and yoga is done without any devices - just the resistance of your own body weight. I do yoga weekly and will continue to do my Saturday 1 hour class (90 minutes would be too much for me) during VLCD. I suggest, if you've never done yoga before, go to a beginners class where the focus will be stretching and learning the positions. Enjoy!
