Kmac, why are you doing a 3 day load? Only 2 are needed. The only time when loading should last longer is if someone has been on a very low fat diet for a long time.

I have seen some people do an extra day when they think they've not loaded well the first day, but as long as you get one good loading day in, I've observed that is generally sufficient.

Leez, I have done both ways. I wasn't able to eat the healthy fats on friday and I was afraid that if I didn't get my fat load in.....I would have a poor start. I was miserable yesterday. VLCD #1 today and I'm not sure when I'll get hungry!! I'm headed to the grocery store now. Just tossed away much of my refrigerator. I'm actually looking forward to eating my veggies again. Still trying to figure out WHY.....I stopped eating them in the first place. Well, I do know why. My adult son moved back home and that is both stressful and problematic and not something I can blather on about on a forum. However, the reset with feeding and taking care of MYSELF....is much needed.

I hope we have some more Junies jump on in. I have a few days that I want to get away from here in 2 weeks. I'm wanting to have a very strong start so that I can weigh my options with a 2 day interrupt or.......something. I'll seek your advice as the days get closer.

One thing I know and have learned the hard way a few times. Regardless of life stressors........I must take care of myself first. Not sure how many times that needs to be proven to me? I'm ordering a water spritzer today from Amazon. I've read up on how you can spritz your veggies with water, then season and roast them just like you would if using olive oil. They don't do well wet......so, the spritzer is supposed to be just right to hold the seasonings. I much prefer my veggies roasted.

I'm still considering the air fryer. I'm sure I'll get bored with same old foods and be inspired to get one so I can shake up my menu.

I've been so bloated the last few weeks that I really don't have a grasp on how much I really weigh. Suffice to say that at some point this weekend.......I stepped on the scale and it said......#160. I have NEVER seen that number in my life. I thought I was weighing around #155. UGH. I have started a round weighing #155 once. I generally like to stay below #140. So, me and the HCG have a LOT of hard work to do. I've done it before and I'll do it again. I'm fixing to get real selfish around my house. ME FIRST!

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable Memorial Day and I'm thankful for those that have/are serving in our military.

VLCD #2 for me. Yesterday wasn't bad at all. No headache and very little hunger. Down over 3 lbs. this morning....proving that my weekend loading complaint of bloating and misery was real! I suspect today might be a bit tougher, but I've got my frig loaded with veggies, crock pot chicken from yesterday that I can shred and a few other meal options ready to go. I've learned through the years that having meals pre planned really helps keep those moments of weaknesses from pulling me under. I'm grateful for a pretty low key week ahead. I don't work outside of the home, but I have a very busy household to run as well as being the ONE point person for taking care of my elderly parents that live 4 hours away. (both with dementia and daily caregivers). It's a LOT. And, unfortunately one of the biggest reason that I lose my peace and get off track. Not taking the time for myself and putting them first. When will I learn that if I don't take care of myself.....I can't take care of others!! Maybe 10th time is the charm?!

As I read my morning devotionals, I was trying to come up with a mantra for the week. Peacefully intentional.......I shall try my best!

I"m hoping some more Junies will jump on since the big holiday weekend is over!! KMac

Kmac, I think you've found a real key to that peace you are looking for---taking care of yourself so that you can take care of others. Its a big one, and hard to hang on to, but so powerful.

Glad you got a nice first day drop. That always feels so good, especially if it takes care of all the load gain, which is often the case.

Kmac, Yes, you have to take care of yourself first. Sometimes that means letting go of some things, and time that we'd like to put towards our own well-being, but over all scheme of thing , not good to care for others to the exxclusion of taking care of ourselves. So I hope you do this and not feel guilty for the time put into it. You're worth it too! When my dad was ill with lung cancer, everyone was working full time but me, so I know what you mean when you are the primary point person. Reflecting back on those months, I really didn't take care of myself, and it wasn't good When my mom got sick, I was working full time, but still one the one who would take off, spend the night with her in hospital--as it was just my brother and myself then. It is so difficult . But neglecting yourself and your health certainly won't help them, so I hope you stick to that commitment. I like the idea of a mantra I know during my phases, especially P2, I just kept saying I can do this, over and over again And at grocery store I still am saying to myself, I don't eat that junk anymore, because I used to love to get all the goodies, bakery items, candy--I think I have a sugar addiction. I repeatedly talk to myself at the grocery store. As long as it is positive self-talk, it is good.

I hope more do jump on this thread to journey with you, but regardless, know there are always people lurking, reading, maybe a little too uncomfortable posting--but believe me they are there. We want to support you and hear from you! You got this!

Morning, P2D3. Down a total of 5 lb. crazy that I had that much bloat in me! Getting it off certainly feels better. I struggled a bit yesterday. Didn't weigh or document food.....I don't think that is going to work. At least the first 2 weeks. So, back to pen/paper. Clearly, that helps with accountability. Even if I think I can do without the documentation. DUH...don't be a dummy! I got the peaceful part in yesterday.....just not the intentional. So, I plan to do both today. My refrigerator is loaded with protocol foods.....I got nothing to complain about.

Ok, that 5 lbs. wasn't fat.......it's hard to wrap my mind around that much bloating, inflammation etc........anyone know exactly WHAT is lost those first few days?

Dubbles, thanks for the kind words. Taking care of my parents is the hardest job I'll ever have. So much emotional baggage. I'm 5 years in and have guilty feelings over my compassion apathy. It's a total and complete dysfunctional cycle that just keeps going. I just realized how good it feels to write this off my chest. Maybe it's time to go back to my therapist!!!!

Trying to get a walk in today....or some small amount of exercise.

    KMac

P2D1 - Loading days consisted of fatty foods, I really didn't go for the carbs. I am down 3 lbs from loading! Yay! I don't care if it is water or not, I'll take it. Anyhow, have chicken, salad greens and an orange for lunch at my office. I've been up since 6 a.m. and have just had coffee (black yuk) and water so far today. I had a little bit of hunger pangs about an hour ago, but drank a nice big cup of water and they are gone. It's been a long time since I've done this but I am starting to remember protocol pretty quickly.

And I have to say, taking care of oneself, that I read in previous comments, is so important! I had that very same conversation with my sister yesterday. I must always keep in mind, no matter what comes up in life (and things do), I can't let myself go. It is disappointing to me that I now have about 70 lbs to lose because I couldn't handle the stress and some big losses in my life. Gaining weight didn't help at all.

Hope all of you reach your weight loss goals this month!

Kmac, not sure exactly where those huge losses on first few days on hcg come from, but I'll take it from wherever. Love the first week of p2. Good that you have the foods there available. I hated grocery shopping at first on p2, sent my husband a lot--I was very sugar addicted and the temptations as you walked into the store were really mind blowing. But in the end, it is so worth it to feel good and healthy again.

Just B, for sure, take those 1st week losses, from wherever! It is amazing--the power of hcg--I just never experienced much hunger, except for maybe meal times. Naysayers, they really have no idea And while I admire people who are content to lose a couple of lbs a month,, I'm just not that patient. So yoohoo for the gift of hcg, and the protocol. Good luck to you all on your P2 journey. Exciting!

Morning, VLCD #4, down 6lb. No real issue with hunger and barely hitting my water mark. Plan to improve today. Just chugging along. Still haven't exercised, busy dealing with parents and caregiver issues over phone. 8 texts and 3 phone calls.....wipe out any motivation I have for myself. However, endeavor to push forward focusing on myself ......even in the middle of a caregiver crisis.

I have a mini getaway planned for the 14th. A few days in the Hill Country at a house on the river that is 100% peaceful. Relaxation and rejuvenation here I come!! I'm not sure what I'll do regarding my HCG injections. I'll reach out for guidance as the days draw closer. This is giving me incentive to double down and stay strictly on course.

Is it recommended to skip a dose once per week on the 28 day plan....IF....you want to prolong your round?

Also, if things go well or bad....I have the option to buy another vial and extend round further. I'm playing this by ear because you just never know how each round will play out. Although, I've never really had a bad round. Unfortunately, I started this round about 5-7 lbs. heavier than some of my previous rounds. I let things go a bit tooooo long. Because I waited 5 lb. too long.......I've set my goal for under 140 lb. It's doable if I can behave myself! I need this mini vacation to re-charge so i'm going to figure out how to do both.........protocol and vacation. Interupption or.......forge ahead and extend my round?? Time will tell and I'm grateful to have some good advice to help me choose what is best path. It's really nice to have options. Or, perceived options!!!

Seems like there is way less activity and folks on the forums at this point in time compared to previous times that I have used forum support during my rounds. Anyone else notice this?

Wishing a great day to all. KMac
