    I'm still here!

Deanna, I'm sorry about the ticket! You just never know if they will give you one or not--what a bummer. Sounds like a very stressful day with the new job too. But you really moved forward plus it could have been so much worse!

I'm still struggling with the right mindset. I've only had 2 solid days of not cheating (goldfish, pretzels, chocolate chips, also pineapple is so good right now!). I'm on VLCD10 and have only lost 7.8. I know that is better than nothing, but I also know how much more I could have lost. I'm not going to fool myself that this diet is "working" because I am still losing as I am well aware that is not what it's about. I do want to get a hold of these cravings and at least try to rid my body of the need a little bit. I understand it may be okay to have carbs/sugar/grains in balanced amounts someday, but right now it should be about protocol and losing the weight. Then I can work on stabilizing and finding what works for me. And at some point see what foods are in or completely out! Anyway, I know I sound like a broken record, but this is a good thing for me. I haven't given up and I don't plan to stop. I'm feeling hopeful. Even if this first round isn't the most stellar, I'm actually looking forward to coming back stronger and better equipped

For now, I'm still hoping to finish this short round as cleanly and smartly as I can!

Leez, I received 2 5000 vials from Diet Doc. But I shouldn't need to use the second one for this round, right?

You should only need one vial for a short round. DietDoc requires their suppliers to provide HCG at more than 100% potency. That means that even if your mixture starts to weaken, it will still be close to 100%.

HCG can start to weaken after 2-3 weeks, but is generally effective for up to 30 days even without the extra potency factor.

Keep working on one decision at a time. You are making good progress when you can recover from a slip up, and it looks like you are doing that.

    HI Leez,

I hope you are doing great and enjoying a fun summer. I thought I would post this question here as it may be helpful if others have a constipation issue. Between the ibuprofen and acetaminophen I am taking for my back I am having "issues".

What type of Magnesium do you find most effective? I know you take it with vitamin C. I have been using Magnesium Citrate but gosh there are a lot of forms of Magnesium. Also, I have been taking 1600-2000 magnesium Citrate plus 2000 Vitamin C before bed./. Is there a better Magnesium or what do you think of that dose? Thank you for your advice.

Today is a steak day for me....3 pounds over my window due to "Bad choices on Sunday"...Rare for me, but a friend brought me back all this delicious food from France--and then did not help eat any of it.... sigh.....Fortunately that does not happen often...

    Have a wonderful day,

The best type of magnesium to encourage proper elimination are the two cheapest ones: magnesium citrate and magnesium oxide. They are cheapest because they are the least absorbable forms, which is also why they work most efficiently for this purpose. I use a triple blend from Swanson that is mag oxide, mag citrate and mag aspartate. What you are using is fine as well.

Your dose is not unusually high, but you may find that eventually you may be able to back it down some. You might try changing the balance a little by increasing the C to 3000mg and using less magnesium and see what happens. I was on that same dose for quite a while, but eventually have been able to decrease to about 400mg and 1000mg C just by continued gut healing and getting my thyroid functioning better.

Good luck with your steak day. Sometimes its worth it....I mean, how many times does one have the opportunity to enjoy personally imported French pastries? It's one day, and you move on. No guilt!

Down another 1.5 today. Yesterday was a solid one for eating and keeping my mind in a positive space. I did notice I was a bit hungry as I drifted off to sleep, but I just didn't feel like eating much at dinner. I've been reading my old copy of Weight-Loss Apocalypse (which I read but never followed) and I printed out the hunger scale to try and use. I want to really get in tune with my eating and feel that is the best way to kind of narrow it down.

I'm still not eliminating back to normal. I'm taking my regular small dose of only 500 magnesium a night but every morning it's still not solid and now more gassy. I'm thankful it's something though lol. I did switch to Stevia in my tea this week so I wonder if that is the culprit?? I normally use a little sweet n low as I cannot yet drink it without sweetener. But I wanted to try the stevia.

Congratulations on working your plan yesterday. That was a nice loss to celebrate the mental victory.

You can back off the magnesium to 250mg. You want to eliminate daily, but it shouldn't be liquid. There are those that can't tolerate doses of more than 200-250mg.

But it could be the form of magnesium that is the problem. Try switching to magnesium glyconate or magnesium malate to tolerate higher doses. (They are better absorbed, so you can take more without getting to bowel tolerance.) Most of us don't get enough magnesium, so its better to take a form in which you can get a higher dose than 250mg and absorb it better.

Good job on the drop in weight! I know what you mean when you say, “Get in tune with eating and feel” getting to know your the difference in your hungers very important. Leez mentioned drinking hot tea first too see if it makes the hunger go away, which usually works for me.
My medications that I am taking for hypothyroidism is Cytomel, which I have stopped during this round per Dr. Simeonís protocol. I have also quit taking any vitamins and supplements.

Yes you are right, that day of the speeding ticket could have been worse. Thank goodness it wasn’t. The mindset has to be there for me or this diet will not go well at all. So, I know what you mean when you say that. As long as you are losing, keep on going, never give up. I hope tomorrow is a good loss day for you and you stay on protocol, you can do this!

@skeeballer: on the stevia question. People that are sensitive to stevia can have reactions similar to allergies from ragweed, since it is related. Also some people have hypoglycemic episodes or low blood pressure from stevia. Gastric effects are usually related to nausea or bloating. Constipation is more likely to be a side effect than diarrhea.

Its possible you are reacting to stevia. If you stop if for a few days and the symptoms go away, then you have your answer.

Interesting, because the 500 is a dose I've been taking for the last year! But possibly it's too much with all of the changes I've made with this diet. It's a lot for my body to adjust to so quickly. I'll try 250 for now and look into the other forms. Thanks for the advice and info!

And thank you all for the encouragement! I had another great day of eating, although the temptations were there for sure. I'm really proud of myself and am so happy to finally be witness to how each moment of willpower helps make the next one a little bit easier. It doesn't work 100% of the time, but it's something I've never experienced at all. When I find the moment of temptation has passed and I realize "Hey, girl, good job. You didn't give in, and now you can move on. This hurdle is complete!" I kind of take it like adding some mortar and another brick to the wall of willpower I'm building Maybe that will be my new catchphrase when I hit a mini goal, make a breakthrough or work the program like a boss "Add another brick to my WOW (wall of willpower)!" lol

Made some tilapia in the air fryer tonight and it was delicious. Had it with a garden tomato and it's amazing how such a simple meal can taste so heavenly. Salt, pepper, garlic powder, a little lemon. That is all I needed for the whole dinner. And my apple at lunch tasted phenomenal. Practically licked the plate of my poached egg for breakfast. Food in it's purest form, who knew?! haha

(Remind me of all of this next time I'm hanging by a thread, wanting to shove cookies down my throat. Like the same cookies I bought for hubby and kids today that I usually open IN THE CAR on the way home from the store to eat. I wasn't that person today, and I'm thankful for once my kids never saw Mommy eat any cookies.)

    Hi Junies!

Glad to read everyone is moving forward!
8:20PM and finally home from a day that started at 6:30 AM.
Leez, thank you so very much for your support and encouragement. Great news! I dropped the 3 pounds on a steak day and now just at the top of my window at 2.4 over my LIW! I am so very happy.

Today was good because I planned ahead and packed a cooler with water, lunch, and healthy snacks.
Leez thank you as always for your great advice. How did you heal your gut? I already stay away from processed food, try to incorporate natural probiotics/prebiotics from pickled things, kefir and yogurt, and try to eat clean. I would love to hear how you managed to heal your gut!

Hope everyone has a great evening.

It was a long process of trial and error, but I think identifying my food sensitivities (thank you P3 and The Plan) and avoiding them for a good long time gave my body the opportunity to heal. In the meantime, I did all the things---probiotics, prebiotics, cultured foods, anti-inflammatories like curcumin and omega 3 oils, and spent over a year gluten and dairy free and avoid all the bad oils and processed stuff. A big help toward the end of all this healing was something I had never heard of before--postbiotiocs. Butyric acid for a while with every meal, an also an ongoing detox program called TRS (a nano form of Zeolite Clinoptilolite) were the cleanup crew. The idea is to get toxic stuff out of the way so that the body's natural healing can kick in. I'm probably missing some stuff, but that's the general outline that I worked through with my functional doctor.
