P2D31: down 1.3, 185.4. I'm in the "off cycle" (14 days on, 14 off) of progesterone til next Tue, so please let's keep the losses coming in the interim!

I reached out to the doc about estradiol, politely made my argument, and asked her to reconsider. She agreed to start estrogen along with the progesterone. That starts in July! I have thought about pushing back a month and not taking any more of any of it until after this round of hcg. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do yet.

Morning all, VLCD4 for me. I'm 7 lbs. down from VLCD1. Frightening to think of the bloating and back up issue there. Getting some gut health back is definitely a bonus on this protocol. You know your system was bad when you can fluctuate that much in 4 days. I have a good attitude to start this day. Going to go for a walk before it gets full sauna on me. I didn't walk yesterday (other than dog) because I was feeling super weak-ish, but feeling better today and glad I listened to my body and took a break from the heat. I need to do better with meal prep as I'm waiting until i'm hungry and ready to eat and then deciding what to eat. So, I'm being lazy and need to get with the program a bit better. I have the right foods.......just slightly paralyzed when it comes to making choices. So far so good I guess. I'm just trying to manage day by day and stay intentional. Getting the water in is my priority today.

JennyV, I have been on bioidentical hormones for about 15 years. My NP specializes in that and is also the provider of the HCG. She says the anti aging puzzle is getting EVERYTHING balanced. I hate that physicians don't take the time to really understand the area of BIO identicals. (generally speaking and my husband is a physician) Im so glad that she listened to you. I do a compounded progesterone pill at night and I rub on a compounded amount of estrogen (it's actually Estriol and Estradiol) I do not rub on any testosterone at the present time but have in the past. I go every 6 months and get bloodwork and she "TRYS" to keep me balanced. Last month with the weight gain and the ACL/liver enzyme issues......she told me that an intervention was necessary! She is into high grade supplements as well and I'm taking one for my liver enzymes and one for my poor adrenals that have gotten worn out this last year (my mom had 7 hospitalizations in about 5 months leading up to her death). It about did me in. I'm a firm believer and keeping all those hormones and precursors balanced. It's unfortunate, but we have to advocate for ourselves. Physicians want to give us a "pill". Sometimes with some hormonal help, exercise and diet, we can keep ourselves from having to take that pill (which is really just a bandaid for our symptoms). My internist wants me on a BP pill because mine is a bit too high. I'm like.......how about telling me to lose some weight, exercise and eat right. But, the pill is easier to give. (again, generally speaking as I like and respect my internist). Have a great day ya'll!

KMac, I have read that high blood pressure can be a warning sign for insulin resistance, too. Hopefully the HCG diet will help with that -

KMac, yes to all of that!! All the caregiving (mom, dad, AND 2 spectrum adult kids left at home) and super stress (law school and a 2.5 hour commute!) ramped up an Epstein-Barr infection early 2021. I've been struggling and cycling in and out of mono ever since. My liver enzymes are finally back down in range 15-16 years thanks to TUDCA. The one I take is from CellCore. It's a little bit pricy, but it's fantastic. EBV has trashed my immune system, my liver, chewed up my iron (which has thrown a lot of other things off), and made a mess of my adrenals and my hormones. Trying to get it/keep it in check and keep things balanced has been really difficult. But if I can get the weight back off, at least that is one less contributing factor in all of it. And I know I will feel better!

I'm not a candidate for oral estrogen, so I opted for the patch for ease of use. I'm doing oral progesterone at night. Bc I'm using a telemedicine provider (no insurance), I can't get testosterone, but I'm considering adding in DHEA as a workaround after I do another round of bloodwork to see where things are. I've had to take my health into my own hands for a number of years. I wish I had someone I could see who could give me direction and partner with me, it just hasn't worked out that way. Between so many medical care providers being pharma-driven plus a general lack of curiosity when it comes to the complexity of the human body, I have all but given up on finding anyone to help with the journey. That's not to say there aren't any, I just haven't found them yet. We worked with an MD years ago in PA who was also a classically trained homeopath. He was fantastic! But in my tiny corner of the woods in NW GA, we don't have a lot of those kinds of options. My family physician of many years retired about 5 years ago and I haven't found anyone else here who is interested in solving puzzles.

And congrats on the 7lbs so far! That's great!

P2D32: down .2, 185.2. Scale rounded me up .1. It's so strange to me that it only does that some days but not others. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. Oh well. I don't seem to have as big of losses when I have beef the night before. Or maybe it's specifically tacos-- could be actually be histamine but I'm not giving up my chili powder, spinach, nor tomatoes, so those will just have to be slower days. I also did a lot of work outside yesterday, so I may also be retaining a little from the soreness. We'll see what tomorrow brings. Either way, it's still down, so I'll take it! Hopefully it's gonna be a good day! Wishing everyone a very happy Thursday!

You are doing so well rose to keep predominantly under LIW. We all have a few blips up here and there. I'm confident you know how to reverse the trend. Hope it happens quickly for you.

Last day of P3 for me, and I am back in my all my 6's now. Very pleased, and ready to start packing my favorite stuff. I have so many choices now! Such a good problem. Only a few more days before I leave.

I'll do a final weigh tomorrow and stamp a verdict on this round, but pretty sure the end number is going to be 140.

Quick check in. I"m alive and kicking. Down to 170 lb. on scale and decided my goal will be 155 lbs. Which is still well above my pre and post menopause weight. But, prior to starting I was having huge weight fluctuations between 172 and 177lbs. So, I really can't identify that gray area. After HCG, I will start back to consistent resistance/strength training and continue with the "clean eating". I had a bad bout of chicken aversion last night. It's too early for that to start!! I started feeling cold last night too, which is actually an amazing feeling in this hot Houston weather!! I've got plenty of food in the frig but I don't want any of it. Bought some tuna in water in hopes that it will appeal to me. So far, all I want is to mix my protein with lettuce and tomato. I resorted to one egg and egg whites yesterday with some strawberries. I'm going to choose to keep a good attitude and not make a big deal of the chicken aversion. I walked early this morning and headed out to walk the dog now.

Rose- hang in there as you tweak P3
Jenny- I'm wondering if my NP would take someone out of state. She lost her lease on her store front and the last year I'm doing telephone check ins. She gets tons of blood from me every 6 months and bases my direction of that. My hormones thankfully have been very stable the last 7 years. I went through menopause in my mid-late 40's. She is not expensive. I think i pay less than $200 for a 6 month check up. My 60 vial of HCG was $380. I will look into the Liver supplement you mentioned. Thank you for mentioning it. My mom's last few months were in liver failure. She never drank alcohol. So, non alcohol fatty liver disease is what they called it. (now.....she took enough pain pills in her life to kill a herd, so maybe that played a part). Anyhow, it's a bigger motivation for me to now take care of my own liver. NP has me on XYMOGEN S-Acetyl Glutathione twice daily.
Leez- that's awesome news! I truly can't wait to get back into my 6's. Even though i was a size 2-4 until menopause, A size 6 at 60 y/o will suit me just fine!!

One would think with all the world's medical technology that there would be more medical people wanting to work in the anti aging niche. Is big pharma that powerful!!!!

    Everyone have a great day.

Rose-- you've got this. Probably just a little extra water to go along with the starches/carbs. I have no doubt you'll be back down soon!

Leez, I wish there was a "heart" button so I could love everything about your post! I wondered if you would be checking back in before heading on your trip. I'm so excited for you!

KMac, I was having the aversion issue with beef early on, but it passed, thankfully. I still haven't had another steak since then, but I have eaten a lot of taco salad. I have also had a lot of chicken, some tuna, and I do a lot of eggs just so I can have some variety and some semblance of normal for breakfast. Your NP might be able to do out of state sessions, but it depends on the laws where she is licensed. I also do a glutathione supplement (Seeking Health lozenges) and I use Teechino "tea" bags (roasted chicory and dandelion root) in with my coffee in the mornings for added liver support. Every little bit helps. But TUDCA was the thing that finally brought everything back in line, numbers-wise.

P2D33: no change. 185.2. I actually expected it to go up. I got really hungry yesterday and ate a handful of homemade chex mix last night that my mom sent home for the kids last week. I've done really well so far with not eating stuff I'm not supposed to, or really even wanting any of it. But man I got straight up hungry and needed to eat something. So I will be dropping my dose back down a few drops. I've also been out of collagen protein powder, so I haven't been adding it in my coffee for the past 10 days. I can tell a difference there, too. Thankfully, more will be here Sat. If I'm gonna consume extra calories, which I need bc I am active, I'd much rather it be that than empty snacking. I'm also starting to get diet weary. I just need to make it through 2.5 more weeks of this part. I really want to hit 169 this round. I don't think it's gonna happen, but I am still gonna keep hoping anyway.

Morning all, VLCD#6 for me and the scale was 168.2. The only thing better than seeing the 160's will be seeing the 150's!! But, I know from previous experiences that the first 10 days can be amazing and then you have to buckle down and settle in for the long haul. JENNYV, your definitely at the long haul point or well beyond. I've looked back and you have done so well!!!! I have definitely been diet weary in the past towards the end with HCG. I'm not sure I have words of wisdom but think about one day at a time and bump up the protein and veggies a bit maybe? There is nothing worse than starting to feel done!! If you can.......I'll be here everyday for the next 2 weeks with you!!!

I've already had my walk since it's ridiculously steamy in Houston today. I was able to eat taco salad and turkey bowl with cabbage. I'm headed to grocery store and researching chicken recipes. Trying to find a way to eat the chicken! I actually really like chicken so the aversion the other night was interesting. I'm still not meal prepping well enough and wait until i'm pretty hungry to start deciding what to eat. How stupid is that??? Gotta do better.

Happy Friday to all and LEEZ, have the best vacation ever!!
