Thread: June 2024 Loaders - Seize the Day

  1. #61
Morning all, cheers to week 2 in P2 for me. Deep breath and day by day is all I can do and trying to keep a good strong positive attitude because I know the weariness will arrive later in the month. I'm powering my mind up for the stall that I know typically comes after about 10 days out. The first 10lb. always seems easiest to lose. Then the body has to really start burning the hard fat. (I just made that concept up)! I"m just grateful for good energy until about 6pm. Then, my body says......I'm done. It could be the heat that i'm walking in every morning but Ive done rounds where I didn't have tons of energy and that isn't fun. So, I'll take a 6pm slow down. My kids are grown so I really don't have to keep going!!

The semiglutides kinda scare me because I've read some bad stomach/intestine side effects online. I could have gone that route as I have a physician friend that is offering that to her clients. It does seem easier to just not be hungry or able to eat much vs. the 500 calorie limit. My A1C and blood pressure were both borderline which is what finally tipped the scale and made me get serious about losing this weight. Maybe the semiglutides are a better choice? I have no clue. Gotta stick with this HCG protocol because I know it works and hopefully doesn't come with any side effects other than some hair lose. I would definitely have to do some major research before I went the semiglutide route.

Jenny, in my crazy mind, any lose over 20 lb. in a round is amazing. My goal is 20lbs and I have a 60 day supply of HCG because that is all my NP was selling. I can't imagine i'll have the ability to do 60 days and I think that is against protocol. But, having the option to extend 1-2 weeks might be possible. I've never really done more that 30 days so I have no clue what my options are. I don't know anything about Planned Interruptions.

Let's all have a great week!!! (me intentionally trying to be positive because the reality is I'm a bit grumpy)

Late/quick check in. Busy day today. The next couple will likely be the same. P2D37... up .8. 185.8. Back to the 14 days on cycle for the progesterone starting last night. Hopefully today will be the worst of the gains. Hopefully the end of, actually!

Having lunch out with a friend tomorrow and I'm already a little stressed trying to figure out where/what to eat.

A 20lb loss will put me at 179, which will be ok, as long as I can actually get there. I was hoping for at least .5lb/day average loss over the whole 50-55 days I'll end up going, but it's looking less and less like that will be the case. Don't get me wrong-- I'm not complaining. I've already lost several inches and can fit back in clothes I've not been able to wear in at least a year and a half. I am definitely happy and can see how far I've come. It's just so harder now that it used to be to get the weight to come back off. And I know it will mean 2-3 more rounds to get where I need to be for the long haul. Hard to get my head there mentally right this moment, as I'm getting tired of dieting. But as long as I can maintain it, I know it'll feel less daunting in a couple of months and I will try again.

i think u r tired of dieting because this round has been so long. that’s why i only do short 23 day round and then after 4-5 months do another round. If i can get close to a total of 18 lbs that will get me to goal this year. in 2011 i averaged very similarly but went 40 days to get 20 lbs. now my average is closer to .4 lb per day. i am 13 years older so at 81 i am not complaining. my only issue is that i dont remember being as hungry in p4 as i did this year and last year. But not giving up either

P2D38:back down .8 to 185.0 (184.9 grrr, stupid scale app). Just keep swimming...

Rose, I think you are probably right, although I think part of it is just frustration that I haven't made better progress with how long it has been. My results don't feel commensurate with my efforts. Of course, I know it's a lot more complicated than that, but my attitude is not helping and I need to shift it. I can also tell I'm struggling with stress more the past couple of weeks, and I'm surprised at how "hungry" it makes me. Not really hungry, of course, but it makes me want to eat. And not good stuff! It feels like a constant fight right now. I think that's part of what I'm actually tired of, if I'm being honest.

    Morning all,

Jenny--I understand how you are feeling. Previously with HCG, I always jumped in and started a round when I got into the 150's and could always lose those 15-20 lbs. and then be done with the restrictions. But, I wasn't able mentally or physically to do the diet with my mom so sick. So, I let things get out of hand and now......i'm hoping to get back to the 150's!! Which is still 10lb or so too heavy for me. So, I'm looking at a lot of hard work after this round. sigh........but, hopefully that will motivate me to never let the run away weight happen again. Sending you support!!!

Rose, you have stayed on top of your weight status and that's encouraging for me that it is possible. I could be happy at 148 lb. for sure as I navigate through my 60's.

As for me, the scale is still going down. More slowly as is typical for around VLCD #11. I'm grumpy but hanging in there!! Trying to keep a positive attitude!! I have lost 10lb. But, can't really see it at all on my body. UGH.

    Have a great day!

InsideOutWellness.net is having a 25% off sale on their hhcg products. I particularly like their hhcg nasal spray, but they also have drops, pellets, and patches.

Kmac. i only lost 9 lbs in my 23 day round so 10 lbs at day 11 is HUGE drop! congrats. @Jennyv. are u close to going into p3 or are u just determined to get it all done in one shot? i peaked at 40 days years ago and even lost hair after transitioning because of such a long round. Prayers for strength to stop when u r ready. i think your body is sending a signal ?

Thanks KMac. I was the same for many years, but this past two rounds have been different. And it is SO much harder when you are trying to navigate this while caregiving and trying to manage everyone else's needs. My weight got so much higher this time, in part bc of that, partly bc of EBV, and partly bc of dropping head first into perimenopause. So it's a perfect storm!

Y'all both keep me hopeful that I will get there if I can just stay the course.

Rose, I am not going to keep going much longer, I just wanted to use up the remainder of the open bottle I have bc I don't want to waste it. I'm only going over the typical 40 day round by 10-11 days. Just under 2 more weeks unless my body makes me stop sooner. It is a long haul, and I had hoped with the week long PI in the middle, it would have been easier. I'll be happy to see the back side of it. I just have to resolve that I will need at least 2 (maybe 3) more rounds to get where I want to eventually stay. 155 is nice. 140 is better. Definitely not less than 135. I'm 5'7 and fairly large-boned, so any smaller than that and I'm too skinny.

Quick check in for accountability's sake: P2D39: down .3, 184.7. Not much else to say about it. Had lunch with my friend at Longhorn yesterday and had a chicken salad. It was a big meal, so I chose not to eat anything else later. I probably should have had at least a little more protein bc I got hungry last night. And since I was out most of the day, I ended up exercising late in the day. Still, down is better than up. Back to the normal grind today.
