I know I haven't posted recently but I have been keeping track of you guys and all I have to say is that I am SO PROUD of each and every one of you. It's tough to change everything about how you eat and view food but it will all be worth it in the end. I've discovered that I am a slow loser. I am perfectly fine with that though since I am losing weight. I follow the protocol except that I have cut out most fruit and eat more veggies. I have been feeling great since I figured out my "sweet spot" in regards to my dose. One observation that I have about my weight loss in that I will go through a few days of losing a few tenths a day, then I will gain a little. The next day after a gain I will lose up to 2 pounds. I have a hypothesis about this that comes from reading "Pounds and Inches" for the 100th time. I think what is happening is that the fat is burned up and then the shell of the fat cell is left and filled with water until my body has a chance to break it down. The day before I have a decent loss it seems like I have to urinate A LOT more frequently. That is why little losses (or even little gains) haven't been bothering me in the least. I hope that helps some of you not get disappointed when the scale doesn't move like you want it to, I know how frustrating that can be when you see other people losing much more.
I can't even begin to express how happy I am to finally be taking care of myself. I put on a pair of jeans a few days ago that I haven't worn in 3 years. I had a rough time towards the end of last year. My 16 month old son had 2 brain surgeries (one at 9 months and one at 11 months) and my mom tried to commit suicide, all in the matter of 3 months. Now that everybody seems to be healthy (for the most part) I can really work on myself instead of taking care of everyone else.
I love where this is taking me physically as well as mentally!!!
I wish continued luck to all of you!!

    Heya Mom....

So glad someone is with me on the breakfast thing. I have read/heard of plenty of other folks who are glad there is no breakfast on this plan. It is REALLY hard for me to just do that 1/2 grapefruit and head out the door for a VERY long day!

Something you said above got me thinking. I just finished dinner.....yummy bison chili made per one of the numerous books out there and topped it off with a small apple sliced very thin and sprinkled with Stevia and a bit of cinnamon and nuked until just barely crisp. The question on my mind is: The chili had my one veggie...tomatoes and then I had one fruit....apples all in the same setting. I can do this right? mix 1 veggie and 1 fruit together? Just not 2 veggies or 2 fruits together. Guess I have to decide if a tomato is a fruit or a veggie now...LOL Some times I think I understand the rules and other days I am more confused than ever.

Glad to have this group to check these things out!

    thanks again

I would google it on the forum as well. Beth is very helpful and knows a ton!
    Good luck
Thanks so much for replying! I got your message too late and kept on going. I have lost another 3lbs- making it 8 in four days. I am guessing I will stop at 10 and hover for a few days? I read about the cucumbers . Last night I took smooth move tea. This morning coffee and an apple. Can you guess what kind of day I had today????? "Stand back......COMING THROUGH PEOPLE" hahaha.

I will not do that again!

I don't think it is undesirable but not everyone goes into Ketosis. Grammy said she never has and lost over 78 lbs. I don't think it is the goal to be in Ketosis but it does not hurt either. I actually like that I see I am in ketosis cause then I know I am burning my fat!

I travel quite a bit and had to keep my last round short to be able to be certain I was stabilizing well. I have read about breaks, but thought they were only if you were using injections and to go longer than 42 days. I am interested! If I could stretch this round to a total of 42 days by using a break, maybe I can get to my goal!!
I am looking at my calender. I am in my not so busy season so I have more flexibility right now. You have to go a minimum of 23 before you can do a scheduled break. Then if you take the break and you start back up within 2 weeks then you don't have to do another load before you start back up. It was a total fluke what happened to me last time. I was so protein deficient last time that all I craved was eggs. So I was actually quitting. Ate eggs for 2 weeks straight and then remembered I had another vial of the hcg. So I got back on the forum and searched what was ok to do. Mgsondance (sr member) had written in a thread that some have better weight loss with the scheduled break.
So now I am doing the same thing and it is working into my schedule perfectly. I will be on P3 on the break for a big job and then the end of April I have another big job and will be back in P3 just in time.

So today after seeing an incease of .2 on the scale (GRRRRRRRR) I pick myself up, dust myself off and make my kids scrambled eggs and cheese (P3 can't get here soon enough!). At 10:00 am run real quick to my doctors office and pick up my next two week batch of HCG syringes, pay $200 (yes its that much) and place them in my center console because I am afraid on the drive home the sun peeking through the car will ruin them. I pick up my husband and take him to surgery center for scheduled minor surgery. Surgery is running late so I take kids to lunch at Sams club across the street. Pizza and coke slurpee..REALLY!!! Have you ever seen Sams or Costco pizza slices? I proudly chug my water. I better be two sizes smaller after this!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so Its now 1:45 pm 78 degrees outside. Back to the surgery center and kids Kindle fires are out of juice. Oh I have a charger in my......center console...... (You all know whats next)
    Mother freaking love of @#@#$ @[email protected]#[email protected]$ @#[email protected]#[email protected]%#.

Running into the surgery center like my finger has been cut off...they pack the HCG syringes in ice. my oh my. I really hope I did not just throw $200 down the drain.
2:00 pm I have not eaten all day and I am supposed to drive the guy who just had general anesethia home in an hour- yeah, better get food in me asap- but what? Go across the street to the steak house and ask for a 4oz steak and romaine. NO BUTTER NO OIL NO SALT NO PAM NO NOTHING. I hope I dont gain tomorrow from eating out, but I think the stress alone over those dang shots will cost me a pound.

I seem to have lost my brain with the 8 pounds I lost so far.

Oh you poor thing!!!! I hope they are ok as well as you don't gain. Pizza schmitza you did great!!!!! congrats.

By noon I ate my chicken and salad so quickly I don't think I ever really tasted it. By 2pm I was not only starving once again but I had a whopper of a headache.

It is now 6:20 and I can hardly stand looking at the computer screen as the headache has morphed into a migraine. sigh I think I will just go to bed now.

Tomorrow I will try taking it down to 150iu and see if that does anything more positive.

I am tenacious if nothing else.

It takes a couple of days at each dose to figure out what the sweet spot is. I suggest you skip a dose and see how you feel. Good luck Dad! It does sound funny!

Anyway, last night I took Nyquil because I felt horrible and then freaked out immediately because I have no idea if they had sugar to it. Then I woke up to weigh myself and see a .6 loss. I went right back to bed and stayed there until 4:30pm. No eating or drinking. Woke up and decided to weight myself again and it says 280 lol. Guess I will see the real weight tomorrow morning

Hoping all is well and I promise to catch up more tomorrow. I'm gonna go lay back down...Feeling a little weak

You are doing it right. I always forget that some say a tomato is a fruit! It counts as a vegi according to my print outs. I would love to eat the entire grapefruit as well. I just happen to slice the grapefruit big on the side I will eat (the knife slips every day!!!) and then make my kids eat the small side! Good thing they love grapefruit!

Seems like everyone is doing great still. I am now looking forward to getting to my original weight in January (183lbs). I feel like it is within reach. I haven't been in the 170's in about 6 years so that will be my next reaching point. I think it makes it easier for me if I give myself small goals instead of looking at the weight loss as a whole. Then I feel like I am actually getting somewhere! I am down 9.2 pounds as of this morning! HOLY CRAP!!! WTG EVERYONE!!

    1st Week- 8.2lbs gone
    3/16 VLCD8-188.6 (-1.0lbs)
