I usually have really good luck with the avocados from Costco. Because they come in the bag, I think they get squeezed less than ones sitting out at the grocery store. I usually get one or two that are ready to eat right away and then the rest need to ripen a few days or a week - then I have to practice being patient

Love your mental attitude! You've got this!

I'm with you on the "nothing to wear", except the other way around. I just unpacked and got rid of the rest of my too big clothes this past weekend. I officially now have one pair of nice slacks, and two dress blouses that fit.

I had a sudden emotional food crisis when I dreamed of ice cream (which I wasn't going to eat during loading). It was a graphic food dream, and I decided to go buy some and eat it on a third load day, rather than have cravings for days/weeks and then give in during P2 for one of my favorite foods. I mindfully enjoyed my treat, did not gain or lose from the extra day, and am now on P2D2. Last night we finally got around to grilling my HCG chicken that I always eat, but hubby used a different seasoning and I didn't check it first. The citrus part had corn syrup solids in it! URGH! So the kids will enjoy my grilled chicken, and I need to cook some more today. Too bad I didn't check before I finished portioning it all out.

I am down 1.8 from day 1. I have 20 pounds to lose to get back where I was when I "quit" in the middle of my failed round. I am calling this round 3 as I never completed that one and am starting above where I started it. Goal for round is to get through with a positive mindset and to stay on my modified protocol. I allow myself minor mixing of vegetables, and a few additional vegetable not on the original food list that do not affect my losses. I do not eat the bread sticks. When I am out of prepped vegees and have no time (or nothing left in the house), I grab a small can of V-8. Always have them in my car. I also keep a few apples protectively wrapped in the car once it cools down, for those days when I am extra forgetful or am out longer than I plan. Occasionally I am super hungry in the morning, and will eat my apple before noon. It is nice to have one with me when I am out for the morning, just in case. Oh, and many days, I will only eat one fruit. Just because after the first week, I am not hungry enough to eat the second.

I look forward to getting to know you guys as we continue through November.

Hey Roni - great progress so far. Smart to keep those apples available. Keep up the good work!

Hey Roni! Hoping you're not too affected by the fire in Paradise. It looks like it is a bit north of you. We had smoke yesterday, hoping you don't have too much where you are. Stay safe!

    Good Morning All!

Hope everyone is off to a great Monday! I spent the week taking care of ill family members with no time to find a computer. My elderly parents computer was virus city and a real project! Hubby was/is out of town so all up to me. Good news is limited time to eat ha ha.

Great to read that everyone is doing great.

I always keep some small (persian) cucumbers in my car. I eat that in the morning. I prep a few days of veggies and even protein now and have them ready to go in the fridge in sandwich bags. I find that really helps me stay on track. If i am out I always have POP food in a small cooler because my quick trips can often morph into a whole day. Please send me your P2 tips!

AFM I am losing but nothing stellar. It's P2 Day 15. Just always grateful not to be in a stall ha ha.
    Wishing everyone a wonderful Monday.

Thanks for your concern. I am mostly indoors, so not too affected so far. My hubby and kids are working in areas that are hit pretty hard with smoke/pollution from the fire. API's in the 400's. We have asthma issues, but minor. My daughter is having bronchial congestion, and my son and I are dealing with sinus irritation/congestion and coughing, but not very bad at this point. So many others are dealing with MAJOR issues and some have lost everything, so we are happy to have been spared the worst this fire season.

If I am calculating correctly, today is P2D4, and I am down 6 pounds. Still struggling to walk much due to my issues with my feet. I think the plantar plate on the left one tore open again a few days ago, and I hope it feels better tonight as we have the janitorial job in a few hours. Too many days staying off my feet has my back hurting a bit more than usual, so it will be good to be up and around a bit. Tomorrow is my first dental appointment in a few years, so I am looking forward to that, although it is an hour away, so I am NOT looking forward to the drive and the other (walking) errands I will due in that part of town I don't usually head to.

Wednesday I have 2 doctor appointments and several other errands scheduled, and then the evening janitorial account. That means a 16 hour day, so I will be sore and exhausted again, with Thursday/Friday nanny job to follow. Hopefully the week off for Thanksgiving will give my body time to completely recover and me time to catch up on housework. I have really let things slide lately, and feel very overwhelmed, but I also know I can only push my body so far before it starts pushing back and I end up in bed for days/weeks with pain. One of my appointments Wed is with my pain psychologists to discuss how I am doing with coping strategies (haha!) He was awesome when teaching our pain management class, but this is my first one-on-one with him.

I think my biggest struggle with this round is that I am doing it because I HAVE to. I want to lose the weight I regained (and many more pounds), but I really don't want to limit my food options yet. I feel deprived at this point, so I am working on my mental attitude. I get it adjusted for a day, but then backslide and want all the other "good stuff" that is around for the family. Can't wait until we move next year and it is just hubby and I. He is more amenable to keeping the junk out of the house, as long as I keep bread, potatoes and rice around for him to "round out his meals".

Hey Roni - hang in there! Congratulate yourself on the 6 pounds lost, and go from there. Keep in mind that losing weight is going to make your life better overall. I have to remind myself of that too.

Sounds like a busy week ahead. Wishing you the strength to get through it all.

RK - Thanks for the nice thoughts. We have high smoke here today, so just blocking out the sun, but not affecting air quality so much. I feel so bad for the people who lost their homes and/or loved ones. Such a tragedy!

    HI All,

Just a quick post. My parents were in a car accident and good news they are ok but very scary. More good news is something different for me: Today is P2 D16 and I lost 2 pounds from yesterday. Apparently stress and aggravation and staying POP really are working... But I wanted to say this since I had such a disappointing Week 1. I have never lost so much mid round so I hope this happens to all of us all the time!

    Hang in there!

    Best Wishes,
    RK

RK - sorry to hear about the car crash. Thank goodness they are OK.

So happy for you that you're able to continue losing mid-round. Keep up the good work!

RK, that must have been frightening for them, and for the family! I'm glad all seems well, but hope they got checked out by a doctor.
