December 2019 Loaders - Holiday Warriors

Welcome to all starting their HCG round in December!

I salute your bravery--not just for being determined to be successful during party season, but also for braving P2 in cold weather. When that HCG kicks in, you can be chilled to the bone 24/7.

This thread is for you to use as you wish--support and encourage one another, share questions and concerns or just check in for personal accountability. Its all good, and we are hear to support your efforts.

I'll be around to field questions, but anyone is welcome to post. Sometimes we'll get some veterans who will join in and and that's always great to have those voices of experience. So whether you are new to HCG or a veteran of many rounds, all are welcome.

For your consideration: Any input I offer will be based on the original protocol.

OK, I'll start. It was getting lonely over in the November thread anyway. Seems like everyone had Thanksgiving somewhere where there was no internet access!

RK: Hope your PI went as expected and that you survived the family gathering!

AFM: Same again this morning (Monday) which is fantastic as I was suddenly faced with doing an unplanned-Planned Interruption for Sunday - Tuesday! I stopped my pellets immediately and continued eating P2. Counted back and did 62 hours without having anything off protocol. So that was yesterday's dinner. I've never done a PI before, so was thrilled to see the scale stay rock steady this morning. Now, my question is, how long do I continue the PI and when can I start the pellets and P2 again? I'm planning to eat an P3 dinner on Tuesday, but could happily resume P2 on Wednesday if that is how it's supposed to work. A little help would be welcome.

Hope everyone has a great week!

The minimum time for a planned interruption is 4 days. (max 2 weeks) You don't count the days you are weaning off the HCG.

You can start back in again on day 5.

I'm always amazed at how you just don't gain when you start eating P3 style after a round. It just seems so counter intuitive.

Thanks so much Leez! So, I will resume pellets and P2 on Friday - YAY. I hope the hhcg gets back to work as I've been hungry the last few days. I'm happy and amazed at no gain from yesterday (and grateful), but I didn't go crazy either. Let's just say there was mayo involved and some parmesan. Not much else. Can't believe it's December already...

    Good Morning Leez and Linderlou,

I am back! My Planned Interruption went really well. In addition to the overall stress of Thanksgiving most people have, I had some big bad family issues--my father is certain he swallowed his dental bridge, that meant 2 days in the hospital, they still can't find it inside him, and we can't find it anywhere in the house or trash. Then yesterday my mother realized someone actually took her bag of prescription medications, so I had to get those refilled and argue about the costs. Fortunately they have very supportive and helpful doctors and pharmacists. Wow It has been a hard Week! The good news is no emotional eating, with numerous temptations due to stress. I had given up emotional eating several years ago, and this was the first time I was really tempted in a while. I did enjoy Thanksgiving weekend. I did have several non P3 moments, but I find I can do that on a Planned Interruption without consequences if I don't go too crazy ie, a smallish piece of pie, but no champagne or alcohol, not both. Also skinnying up my overall calories if a cheat may happen by eating lots of veggies and homemade vegetable soup.

I may be up .5 lbs, but I am constipated. I love the hHCG because I am not hungry at all. LinderLou I agree with you that loading days on hHCG are hard because we are not hungry. I did not load, just got right back on. I hope your planned interruption goes well. I had more energy to exercise, which also helped.

Well, I am happy to be back, and happy to resume P2! Have a wonderful Day!

Good report, Linderlou. Glad your interruption is going smoothly.

Welcome back rkthin, wow, thats a lot of holiday stress. Great that you were able to keep it together through all that.

Increasing doses of magnesium and vitaminC can help you break through the constipation. Personally, I find that a primary indicator that I've eaten some food I'm sensitive to. Might be a thought to explore.

Note: For any readers not familiar with planned interruptions, there is no need to reload if the interruption is 14 days or less. You just jump right back into P2.

RK - good to "see" you back, and glad you survived your family and all that drama!

In addition to what Leez says about constipation, I've discovered that a small dose of Milk of Magnesia usually clears things up for me in about 30 minutes. Maybe half of what they recommend, but plan to be close to a bathroom for at least an hour or so ;-) I haven't needed it this round - yet. If I keep up the water volume, that seems to help as well.

Well, yesterday was my first full day of PI. I took the opportunity to try to eat up the remaining non-P2 foods in the fridge. Avocado, the rest of the artichokes, were some of the items on the menu. Result - I'm UP 0.5 this morning. Not happy with that, but tonight our dear friend is cooking us a "special" dinner where the primary protein is home-made sausage! This is what called for the PI in the first place. I just couldn't tell her no. She was so excited to share with us! She knows I eat a pretty restrictive and bland diet, but she was just so excited... Oh well...

    Have a great Tuesday!

    HI LinderLou,

Well my understanding is that PIs are P3, so hope the sausage is ok! That is really odd that you went up on artichokes and avocados! I will hope it is just water weight and will leave quickly. I notice on a PI I can have pretty wild fluctuations the first few days. Usually I am traveling so I put it down to salty food! I think you will be ok. My rule is if I am eating badly, no drinking alcohol. That seems to help me for what it's worth. Good Luck on your PI. For me there is nothing like a PI to regain some strength and refocus, and think about your eating outside of the diet!

Thank you also for the constipation advice. I sometimes have it with a diet change. I have started some probiotics, and tonight will take a bath with Epsom Salts...

I think what I learned during this PI was to just not start with the sugary sweets. Once I start I seem to want more and more... I think sweet treats is what always causes my gains...

LinderLou, So glad you are here with me on our journey!

I'll bet it was the pork rinds that I decided would go bad by January! They're pretty salty. AND I'm one of those weird people who like salt on my avocado ;-)

I like your rule of not mixing bad food and alcohol. I'll ask her about sugar in the sausage, but other than that it should be OK. Just to be safe, I won't overdo.

    Glad you're here too!

Yes, eating during the interruption is basically P3. Sugars and starches are the things you must avoid. However, the protocol recommends increasing calories to 800 and infers that is to be done with increased protein in one place, and then in another it talks about not being restricted while on some unforseen event. So its always been a little fuzzy to me what is specifically meant. On this forum, the interruption is usually treated as P3 eating. We do know that the P3 eating has worked for many for interruptions, so there is that. But there is wisdom in not overdoing it even in allowed foods.

    Good Morning!

I had very good losses yesterday, and am now 10 pounds away from my goal. The bad news is I have a work trip out of the country mid December. I have never been able to string together 40 days without having some issues, but I realized that I can't put my goals on hold and I just have to do the best I can. So I will deal with that. Disappointed, but I will manage.

LinderLou How are you doing? Leez how are you doing? Hope everyone is doing well and staying on the right path!

    Have a great day.

Hey rkthin, you are wise to choose peace in doing the best you can. Life has enough stress from things we can't control.

I'm about 10 pounds away from my goal too. Just kind of sitting here. Not enough to do a round, but just enough to be uncomfortable in my skin. Thankfully all my clothes still fit. I'm continuing to try to get hormones and autoimmune stuff figured out, so I'm hoping that eventually that will help drop me some.

Over the summer I did an elimination diet which taught me very little. However it caused some weight gain. It was supposed work the opposite--of course, not for me. However I'm still gluten free and almost dairy free (I do butter and a small amount of goat cheese.) No discernable changes from that, but I'll continue for a few more months to see if I can get my autoimmune disease in remission. My antibodies did reduce some on my last labs, but that could have been from some other interventions I'm doing as well. I really miss my awesome spelt sourdough! Gluten free breads are just....sad.
