November 2019 Loaders - Never Surrender

Hi November Loaders! This group is for you--for sharing, encouraging and comisserating! P2 can be hard, but having others to go through it with you can really help. I'll be around to help with questions and concerts.

May all have a great round and be ready to greet the holiday season with increased confidence and optimism.

    Talking Hello lovelies!

I've been lurking and keeping up with all the losing going on around here. Not much to report when you're basically in maintenance, so I don't post much. I have probably gained about 5lbs back since my last round, but I'm not too upset about it. It's easy to make food choices in P4 and I am mindful about eating to full, and not beyond that. Candy and sweets don't appeal to me at all anymore, so no problem with that.

I am still about 15-20 lbs from my ultimate goal, but pretty comfortable at my current weight. It's been about a year since my last round, so I'm thinking about doing another round here shortly. Last year I actually did Thanksgiving on P2. Not a problem since I was mostly in charge of the menu (we did a potluck). A bit of lean prime rib, shrimp, asparagus... No one would have suspected I was on a diet

Anyway, I was thinking about starting a round mid-November and going for 30 days. My only possible problem is that Dr has been testing my thyroid and changing medication strength every 6 weeks. Believe it or not, he has been lowering my dose because HE is not happy that my TSH is below 1.0. He has been testing T3 & T4 as well, but I don't think he has a clue how to read those results. ANYWAY, I figure if I get my blood test the day before I start taking HCG, I should be good through the round. If he prescribes another dose lowering, I'll just tell him that I didn't change doses right away and need to wait 6 weeks before another test. That puts me in mid-December for a 30 day round, and end of January for a blood test.

Last time I used hhcg and despite the 3X per day dosing, I think it was better than the hcg pellets and way cheaper too.

Am I thinking this through correctly? I've got two weeks to prepare mentally and clean out the bacon and avocados in the fridge. REALLY looking forward to the reshaping! I have to say that over this last year, my old shape has started to reappear a little. Disappointing, but I am still in a WAY better place than I was almost three years ago when I started this journey.

Hope there are a few others who might join me this time. It really helps me be accountable.

I'm sorry, since you titled your post to the lovelies, I thought you meant for it to be posted in the Lovely Losers monthly thread. Apparently I was wrong. I've moved it back.

I'm kind of where you are.... not right at goal but ok with that for now.

Its best not to test thyroid until after you have been off HCG for 6 weeks, but I'm actually not sure if that applies to homeopathics. I'll check into it.

    Thanks Leez! Mystery solved!

Aren't we all Lovelies here? That was my assumption. Anyway, thanks for moving me back.

Yep, I know 6 weeks before blood testing after hcg. Thanks for checking if hhcg is the same. Based on how I felt on my last round, I'm guessing it would be best to wait. HCG and hhcg seem to elevate my feeling of well being. As in, I am less tired and more alert. I am down from a dose of 150 mcg synthroid to 112 mcg. I can feel it... I wake up tired. In fact last weekend, I slept 14 hours Friday night and Saturday night. DH was all worried about me and wanted me to go to the Dr to see what was going on. I told him it was my thyroid and that the Dr had lowered the dose once again. He says "your thyroid makes you tired?" Geez!

Anyway, my phlebotomist gave me a great lead on a naturopath in the area. She swears by him, so I will go there and tackle this thing once and for all - after this round

Yeah, not at goal right now, but with the drop in thyroid meds dose, afraid to just keep going and have things get out of hand.

Hoping others will join on this thread for November support. If not, I will post on the Lovelies thread for support.

Glad to hear you are seeking out a naturopath for the thyroid issues. If they switch you to a natural desiccated formula instead of the synthroid, you may find you feel a lot better. Its true that HCG does tend to elevate your thyroid hormones. Some find they have to drop their dose a bit during P2 because of it.

    Good Morning,

Hi LinderLou and Leez and all the lurkers,

I have just started P2 as I went on several vacations where I decided calories did not count. That strategy combined with a several year creep and “thyroid dose adjustment creep” means I’m back. I don’t usually post on this thread because it is hard to read about fun loading meals when you are deep in P2!

However, I have been (so far, hate to jinx it) having my best round ever. I am down 10 pounds in 5 days. I think my Mexico Vacation weight gain last week scared me so maybe some of that weight was salt....

So please jump in! Or let’s strategize together for a January start for you guys and help with the dreaded scary and difficult P3 for me! Yes the thyroid issues we all face just suck! I have found being consistent with my GNC multi vitamin and Dr regulated vitamin D helps a very tiny bit....Wish I had better tips!

    Best wishes,
    RK

Hi RK! I remember you from a while back. Wow, 10lbs in 5 days is fantastic! Congrats!

I promise not to post any loading meal details so as not to derail your P2 progress. That's why I like the Loader thread vs. the Lovely Loser thread. Smaller group and we are all focused on the P2 part of the protocol.

The thyroid issues are real. My Dr is being very obstinate about lowering my dose based on the TSH value. It sucks. I am tired all.the.time. Could go to bed at 4pm and sleep until 9am with no problem. I'm hoping to get this round done in mid-Nov to fight the dose adjustment creep. I know it will happen and trying to stay ahead of the curve on this one.

Good luck on the rest of your round and keep posting. Leez and I will be here to support you!

    LinderLou,

Honey you need a new doctor. See if you can find any info on the new one on the internet or by speaking to the staff about your problem if that naturopath doesn’t work out of take your insurance. I think he lowered your dose too much. I find personally on hHCG that after a few weeks I often have to reduce my thyroid medicine ( NP thyroid or Armour) by 20%. If I am sleeping too much or cold that is a sign my dose is too low...

    Hope that helps!

RK, thank you dear. Like Ronnie (t1ghtwad) we live in a rural area with not much choice of doctors. The insurance I have basically covers catastrophic illness and not blood tests etc. I agree on the new doctor and look forward to seeking him out after January 1. I am only staying with my current Dr because I HAVE to have him prescribe the thyroid meds to keep functioning at all. Hoping I feel better on this lower dose once I start the hhcg. Actually looking forward to a round this time

P3 is my favorite part of the protocol. Such a treat after the dietary restrictions of P2 with the added benefit that you get full with a very small amount of food. I won't go into details until you get there, but that will only be a few weeks from now, yes?

    Have a great day!

    HI Linderlou,

P3 is hard for me. I feel insecure and have had my weight go up. I am going to do research and make sure I stay POP on P3 this time. I will probably do a longer round (40 Days) and may do a planned interruption. Sometimes those really help me in P2. I tend to lose more and the break keeps me focused mentally.

Wow that Dr stuff really sucks! I suppose your current one does not have a partner. Probably you could not bring him any info as he knows everything. I wonder if call the office and you tell them how bad you feel on the new dose-cold and sleepy and no energy if they would adjust your dose. Sometimes I have found I need to deep bugging them.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi Leez,

I hope you are having a great Monday. I have a few questions.

Do you know why my ticker is not showing up?

I was looking at recipes --trying to find something I could feed my family and eat also--and saw that people are using Broccoli and Zucchini in P2. I went to Pounds and Inches and the are not listed. IS this just a cheat some people do? I like to stay POP. It's only for a short time and I think I get better results.

Also, has anyone had any good results baking chicken tenders? I usually grill mine. I tried baking them and they were on the dry side. Any tips wold be appreciated. Thanks!
