Sunday, Sunday, Sunday! Hope everyone is getting in a good rest.

Yesterday's deep clean of the bathroom got way out of hand! Since we had sunshine for the first time in about 10 days, I opened up the blinds on all of our windows to enjoy it. Big mistake! Now I could see all the dust and cat hair everywhere! So, what started out as a small(ish) project turned into 3 loads of laundry, cleaning the ceiling fans, full on dusting (why did I think having black-brown furniture was a good idea?) cleaning baseboards (with a toothbrush) and washing the floors that the Roomba can't get to. Boy am I sore! Today, I took on the black stove... again, wondering what I was thinking... Anyway, I am done and won't have to think about cleaning again for what? a week? LOL

Tracy - renovation while living in a construction zone is not at the top of my list. I am very impressed with your skills and being able to deal with someone eager to start a project, but not being so jazzed about finishing. That would drive me crazy! And maybe that's one of the reasons he is a wasband...

I've been thinking about this keto diet, or LCHF... Looked up a bit of info and it looks like the bottom line is 70-80% fat, 20-25% protein and 5-10% carbs. I think the key is tracking what you eat or plan to eat and making sure it fits in those parameters. And then making sure the total calories fit within your BMR recommendation. I looked mine up with a simple online calculator and it came out to 1232, which says I should be eating about 1700 calories to maintain. I think what I need to do is start tracking my food on Fitday again and see what I need to adjust. I'm thinking I've let a few too many carbs into my life and hoping that tracking things will help keep things under control.

OK, gotta run. We've got company and they want to see our progress on the house. Happy football watching!

    Hi Linda,

That bathroom clean-up sounds painful! A couple of weeks ago, I re-caulked my master bath shower; neglecting almost everything since then to do knitting.

The new place will be dusty but otherwise clean . . .

Linda, when I have people over, I welcome them and remind them not to look at the floors...

Thanks for the Keto info, both replies were super helpful. I'll do the BMR calculations today.
I did Atkins many years ago (1999-ish?) with good success but present days it never seemed to work. I read somewhere on here that menopause is the culprit? Anyway, I would be hard pressed to do it again because I like my blueberries too much. I think they are low carb, I'll have to research.

Lynne, I remember your B12 issue now. Thanks for retelling.

I'm going to weigh tomorrow, I've had five days now of careful eating, hopefully this gets me on the right track for this new WOE.

I made a cauliflower crust pizza yesterday and just had a slice for breakfast. I could happily eat that with bacon everyday for a morning meal!

It's windy and cold as balls here today. I did set my alarm early this morning to see the super moon. Went out on the deck, looked at it, checked that box and set straight back to bed. Maybe 45 seconds of wonder for Mother Nature!

    Stay warm, my friends!

    Happy Monday all!

Tracy - I did Atkins around that same time. I lost 20ish pounds in about 6 months and then kept it off for 2 years (that I tracked). It was a positive experience and got me way out of the low fat mindset. Also got me COMPLETELY off of sugar and most carbs. I was in ketosis most of the time and felt good. But, I was never able to get below those 20 pounds (I needed to lose at least 20 more) and eventually got lazy and let some carbs and sugars back into my eating habits. Menopause didn't help either, but it certainly was not to blame since it didn't affect my eating choices

So, after our company left yesterday, I logged back onto my Fitday account and plugged in my foods for the last couple of days (as well as I could remember) along with what I ate yesterday. Guess what, I'm not getting in enough calories and less fat, more protein than I should! That tells me I need to continue to log my food for a long, long time and pay attention to those ratios. Just eyeballing stuff is obviously not working as well as I thought.

Hoping your weigh-in tomorrow goes well.

Lynne - I'm impressed with your construction skills as well! That's quite the construction project to take on! I know people who call a plumber to clean the aerator on the kitchen faucet Yep, the new place is certainly dusty. That's what happens when you have a table saw set up in the living room! I'm hoping the Roomba i7 with Auto Dirt Disposal helps get it clean and keep it clean. You can program it to clean different rooms on different schedules and since it empties itself, a lot less maintenance.

It was cold and windy here yesterday. In fact, we had a Tornado warning yesterday afternoon. Turned into a thunderstorm with major downpour at our house with over an inch of rain in less than an hour. We're supposed to have sunny and warming weather all week, with next weekend being in the mid-60s. Looking forward to that for sure!

OK - off to work. Have a great week everyone!
