Hey ladies! It's a good news/bad news day.
Good news first. I've been really solid with Keto for a week now and I'm sleeping better, feel lighter, appetite at bay and no cravings. I'm sticking with it for another two weeks and then I will weigh and measure. I just needed to walk away from the numbers and trust the process.
bad news is I wore a favorite ring yesterday and it was loose and turns out it fell off somewhere at work! I didn't even notice until I got home. So we are all on high alert walking the halls today! And I will celebrate my skinny finger.

Linda, I was ready for a June round with you but you are smart to weigh out the pratfalls. It will be a solid six months for me after round five and suspected immunity. I wanna but don't know if I should...

Bubble, you are doing so well! Hopefully today you will see a number that makes you smile with relief. If you move up on the scale, is it a minor correction that will correct itself? I wonder if the massage would have a long term effect. As Leez would say, "you are your own experiment." (Actually, you're OUR experiment! )

I was really careful with oils on my very first round - did the drops - way back in 2010. I remember one facebook forum advised against even shaking hands with people!

Hey Bubble - great progress on your round! Hoping the massage oil doesn't have a negative affect.

I think the advice in Dr Simeons manuscript about using oils was twofold. It makes you aware of things that you don't eat that may affect your weight and your ability to lose fat. I had certainly never thought of that... The other part of it is that his research was done in the 1950s. Products have certainly changed in the last 60+ years... I was pretty careful in my first round, but never went as far as wearing gloves when removing fat from my chicken I did read labels on my shampoo and other products more carefully and made sure I wasn't using something that would work against me.

Tracy - so sorry about your ring. Fingers crossed that you find it soon. On the other hand (ha ha), the fact that it could fall off shows some great progress for you too. When I started gaining weight 20ish years ago, my wedding rings started getting uncomfortably tight, but I refused to have them sized, thinking that would be like giving up and admitting that I would never lose that weight. I bought a plain wedding band for about $15 on eBay in a size 6 and started wearing that. Then, about 10 years ago, I finally did give up, missed my rings and had them sized up so I could wear them again. Big letdown. Now, thanks to hcg, I have had them sized down again to a 4.5! I did wait until I had kept the weight off for a full year, and yes I was very nervous about them falling off.

Depending on our "visitor schedule" this summer, I may postpone my next round until late September/October instead. That would give me a year between rounds as well. My body seems to like the weight I am now (although my mind doesn't) so, I'll just hang and make sure the creep doesn't start. I'm trying to incorporate longer IF times along with the Keto. Not giving up my coffee, but trying not to eat until at least noon and finishing my last meal by 6 or 7pm. Will keep you posted on how that works.

Oh, and as for the keto sticks and disposable cups, I've always just peed directly on the stick and then washed my hands. At some point I learned to smell ketosis. I think it was after DH asked me why the bathroom smelled like cat pee! LOL

Happy Valentine's Day everyone, or just Happy Thursday if you don't celebrate V-day.

Yes Linda, keep us posted on your IF journey! I'm a little bit IF and little bit Keto (cue Donny and Marie Osmond here...) I'm eating supper around 5-6pm and my first meal is usually around 10am. But I'm not weighing or measuring until March 2nd.

As for the ring, my philosophy is, if it wants to be found, I'll find it :-) very new age huh? Just trying to keep my brain empty from unwarranted worry.

So yeah, Valentine's Day was another Thursday here! Alexa told me this morning that that today is "singles awareness day". What the what? Now even she is reminding me that I'm an Arthritic cat lady. TACL 4evah.

    Good morning TACL and everyone!

So, we've had about 5 inches of rain after the snow last weekend, and it is raining again today. They are predicting low snow levels on Sunday again. Crazy. I miss my Cali sunshine!

IF is going fine. Not sure if I "feel" any benefits, but it has only been a few days. I am not hungry yet, so I will wait to eat until I am. I think I was eating earlier out of boredom instead of hunger. I was also trying to fit in around 1700 calories with the keto macros. At this point, I'm going to focus on the satiety factor instead of the calorie count.

Tracy - still hoping you find your ring. Don't forget, stuff like that can roll under furniture and things. My rings are always at the greatest risk of slipping off when I wash my hands. Can you check sink traps?

LOL on Alexa! I refuse to have one of those contraptions. Call me old-fashioned, but I don't want some contraption lurking and listening to everything! Scares me. Too much like 1984!

TGIF and have a great weekend everyone. I will let you know if we get snow again this weekend. We don't have any place special to go, so it won't bother me if we do get some more snow. As long as I don't have to shovel, it's OK with me.

Linda, I'm pretty sure the ring is lost at my office at work or at the bottom of one of my pocketbooks (my personal black hole). I've checked but will check again today, won't be the first time the first pass hasn't yielded "discovery".

And in Keto news, I have the Keto flu!!! I felt like crap yesterday, cold, sore and irritable and went to bed at 8:30. I woke up in the middle of the night and this morning with a terrible headache, like a hangover. Did my stick and voila! A Beautiful eggplant color awaited me :-) funny how all this discomfort motivates me.

Feeling much better now, aspirin helped some. I've had so much energy these last few days as well. Kind of like week two on HcG (my house was never cleaner ) I plan to take advantage and get some lingering chores done today. And rearrange my living room. And repaint my bathroom. My cat Moxie is presently sitting in the upstairs window shaking and rumbling at the birds flying by, so we are both in the mood to get sh!t done!

I was catching up on the Lovelies thread and it occurred to me that this is one of the few places grown women can congratulate each other on a successful BM. I love that!

    Have the best day everyone!

Wow, keto flu. I've never had that - at least not that I can recall. I always feel better in ketosis. Carbs and high blood sugar make me feel terrible and makes my stomach hurt. I guess I have been off sugar for so long that I've gotten past it. Congrats on the eggplant colored stick!

When you run out of things to do at your house, ya wanna come help with mine? Too bad we're on the opposite coast...

Too funny about the BM talk! It definitely is something to celebrate in P2

Cruising along here with the IF and keto. I will get on the scale Monday to see how things are progressing/stabilizing.

It is shifting between snow and rain today. A good day to start on our taxes so at least I will have an idea on what I owe, or Maybe a Refund! That would be great!

Have an awesome and mindful Saturday all!

ok so I am done.. I ran out of drops 2 days short...probably OD when I counted drops instead of used the syringe..anyway..kind of sad...altogether lost 6.9 kilos= 15 lbs--not bad for 3 weeks ...actually looking forward to doing it again in a couple of months. Going shopping today!! need some new clothes and so excited!
so should I go right to keto...that was my plan or P3 first which s more protein and less fat than keto...def starting with IF right away... I am going to be travelling for 3 weeks--I think its easier to be keto when travelling..cos just not so hungry...
any ideas out there from my wise keto. hcg experienced friends?

Hey Bubble, happy shopping today! I was curious, did the massage affect you at all?
I am not Keto experienced, however, Lynne, who was on this thread for a bit was a good resource, as is Linda. I'm still learning :-)

And I found my ring! It was in the crevices of my pocketbook, just waiting for me...

I had a solid weekend of Keto mindfulness. Friday and Saturday I had seafood. Yesterday I made a round roast, three chicken thighs and four hamburgers to munch on for the week. Breakfast and lunch seem to be easy to prepare for, it's when I get home and don't feel like making supper - so hopefully this will keep my calories up some. I didn't eat any vegetables or fruit yesterday either. Bad Keto!

Today marks 10 days of no alcohol. Observing my tummy size getting smaller, slowly for sure, but it's happening. March 1st is my weigh in/measuring.

Linda, did you get a refund? I'm hoping for one as well. Although I'm disheartened by reports of many folks seeing less this year than last due to tax "reform". I'll take that on next weekend...

Celebrate your favorite President today everyone. I'm partial to 44. Miss that guy so much.

Glad you found your ring, Tracy! I don't know if the massage affected me cos I didn't weigh for a few days after that...I am assuming it did and I wouldn't do it again.
    Omgoodness--it was SO fun shopping!
Today is the first day without any hcg.. so looking forward to adding food tomorrow night .
Have a great Keto day or TWM day r whatever...

Tracy - so happy you found your ring in your purse! It makes sense that would be where you lost it since you probably would not have noticed it in that type of situation - reaching in there for something.

Bubble - Congrats on a great round! As for keto or P3. I would say a combination of both. Just keep your fat percentage high and avoid the starches and sugars. I wouldn't worry about actually getting into ketosis. Personally, my most important thing is mindful eating and stopping when full and not stuffed. Tracy and I are both members of the "clean plate club", so this has been something we both have had to work hard to overcome.

I am trying Keto now in this P4 to see if it helps with stabilizing and keeping weight off between rounds. I eat mostly P3 anyway, so pushing the fat percentage a little higher isn't too difficult. I haven't really noticed a big benefit yet, but I am only weighing once a week, so don't have a lot of data yet However, tracking all my food has encouraged me to steer clear of breads, grains and starches.

Lynne is really our Keto expert as she has been doing it for a while and has reversed her Type 2 diabetes with it.

Tracy - preparing food ahead is really a key to any kind of mindful eating. What I've noticed with the IF and shortened eating window is that I'm not hungry when it is "time" for dinner and sometimes just skip it completely. 10 days of no alcohol - way to go! Looking forward to hearing about your results on March 1.

Happy Monday and President's Day! Have a mindful week everyone!

Oh, Bubble, be very careful eating at restaurants when travelling. Something I learned on this forum is that IHOP puts pancake batter in their scrambled eggs to make them fluffier. WHAT? Yep, I asked to see the "allergy list" and sure enough, there it was. Cracked eggs (sunny side up, over easy or over hard) are the safest bet. Also, restaurants sneak breading into all kinds of stuff and thickener into soups and so on. Don't be afraid to ask your server. They've gotten used to it with so many people having gluten allergies now a days.

Happy Tuesday all. The sun is out for the second day in a row! YAY! But they're promising snow again Wednesday night.

Well, I braved the cold in the house this morning and hopped on the scale. I am down about 0.5 from the last time I weighed, so I will call that a victory. Still a bit above my window, but not experiencing the "creep". I think the IF is helping me focus on hunger again and not just eating because I am bored. Now, if I am bored, I just drink some water and reassess in 10 minutes.

NSV: Yesterday DH says "hey, aren't those your skinny jeans?" Me, yes. "They are getting baggy on you" So nice when he notices!

Have a mindful and intentional Tuesday everyone!
