Happy Saturday everyone! (Maybe it is just me and Tracy...) Looks like the forum has been repaired. Hoping all is good again.

AFM: D2 Loading. Such a chore. Yesterday, I was not hungry all day (a good sign) but had to make myself eat. I had eggs, bacon, cashews and then 2 corndogs and a glass of wine for dinner. Result: I am down 0.4 this morning. Today, I had the rest of the bacon, I'll have some eggs, cottage cheese and strawberries later and dinner will be the rest of a sandwich with extra cheese melted on it Not hungry again, so I have to remember to eat. I will cook up my chicken and thaw some shrimp so I'm all ready for P2D1. Really looking forward to seeing the scale move downward again.

    Tracy, have you started yet?

Oh, on another note, my friend who I see once a month and hasn't said a word about my transformation, finally asked me "OK, so what are you doing to lose weight?" She kind of caught me by surprise, so I just said my standard "elimination diet". THEN she wanted to know all the details... Oh my! I finally resorted to talking about "The Plan" book and Lies my Doctor told me. We talked about low carb and keto and I finally finished up by telling her the most important lesson I had learned was to read the Ingredient List in it's entirety and to not buy or eat anything with ingredients you can't pronounce. She said she had been successful once with the Lite for Life program and was looking at starting that again. I'm trying to figure out if she really is interested in learning the whole truth, but I'm not sure if she could or would stick to protocol. I'm also afraid she might get a little judgy on me, so I'm not sure I want to go there. Any ideas on how to enlighten her without putting myself on the firing line?

    Enjoy your weekend all!

Loading is such a love/hate situation isn't it?

I always have this sense of doom as I start loading, because I know in an hour or two, I'll have no desire to eat, and yet must. It makes it hard to actually enjoy those two days (although I always try to. ) But I think the real downer part of it for me is that I'm starting it because I can't stand the weight I'm at, and here I am trying to pile more on in those couple days. It just feels like you are working against yourself, ha! That's why I spend those two days re-reading the protocol to remind myself not only of all the right information I need to do the protocol properly, but also to counter that feeling that things have to get worse before they get better. I don't start feeling optimistic until that glorious day when the load weight is gone and I'm working on the stuff that got me convinced I needed to start.

You're almost there and ready to see some success. I sure hope things go better for you this time.

So, here is how I've come to think of loading... I think Dr Simeons created the "loading phase" because most of the people who came to him for weight loss had already been dieting and were most likely in starvation mode already, and this was a way to bring their bodies back to eating normally. It makes a lot of sense to me.

For me, mentally when I am planning another round, I think I start pre-loading as the time gets closer I allow myself an extra few bites of sourdough or have a larger sweet potato portion (with butter and sour cream, of course) or just in general eating beyond that full feeling. Then, when I get to the actual loading days, I pretty much eat P3 foods until I am full, but not stuffed. I enjoy my last couple of glasses of wine also...

Yes, I am hoping this round goes better too. I really think it was a dosing issue with those RX pellets. I was glad to see that you and Grammy helped Rose work out getting the dose right by adding water.

Ready to get started in the morning!

P2D1: 143.6 - I guess I did load yesterday. Looking forward to seeing the numbers on TESS go down. Off to cook my chicken.

I ended up having to load for three days. Yesterday I ate very very little so today was a better load day for me, and I’m also finishing up some wine :-)
    Tomorrow is VLCD1!

    Hey Tracy!

I'm a day ahead of you, but feeling good. Back down my load weight today and a bit more. I did pretty good on my first VLCD. Had shrimp, strawberries, celery and lettuce. All tasted good. I was only a little hungry right before lunch and was fine after I ate something. I think I just miss chewing I'm looking forward to just putting my head down, working hard and getting P2 over with.

Hope you enjoyed the wine! I moved the rest of my bottles to the garage yesterday. Out of sight and all that...

Have a great week everyone! Happy losing...

Glad I waited that extra day, I always find it easier to start VLCD on a Monday. I'm about 4 lbs over LIW (shenanigans.....) so it feels good to start again. I had a breadapolooza over the last few weeks, so I'm paying for it!

Linda, I think your instincts were right re: your friend. I use the "elimination diet" reasoning all the time. Plus, I'm not always square on explaining the science, if all else fails, I tell them to Google Simeons protocol and get back to me with any questions.

I need to make a mid day grocery run today, I need veggies! for lunch I had a salad, some blueberries and diced chicken. And feel pretty full. Not sure how I'll navigate supper, I did not plan this first day well and I have to work from 3-8PM. I may have to stop by Wendy's and get a plain burger. That's worked before in a pinch.

These long Mondays are a killer for sure.

Hey Tracy! Good to "see" you and glad you've started in the right frame of mind. Hope you work out the late shift on your work day. Hey 4 lbs for a breadapolooza is nothing! It will be off before you know it! I agree starting on a Monday is probably easier, I just wanted to ASAP since I had postponed this round for weeks already. Didn't want to extend my pre-loading fest any longer than needed Somehow, somewhere, I managed to put on 10 pounds since my last round LDW! Of course, that was 7 months ago, but still... Fortunately it doesn't show much and I am still able to wear my smaller size clothes. Hoping this round is not such a struggle and the weight will STAY off when I am done. I think if I am not planning another round in the future, I will focus more on strictly staying within my window. I have now done a couple of steak days (mostly by accident), and they seem to work with about a 2lb result. Also, the reward of having that steak (with butter) at the end of the day is SOOooo worth it. I say mostly by accident because both times, I was travelling most of the day and didn't plan ahead to have food with me to eat during the trip, so, had coffee in the morning, travelled from 8:30 to 3:00 with nothing to eat and only water, then steak at 5pm. Pretty doable.

Yeah, my friend... Thanks for the advise. The only reason I feel a little guilty is because she sorely needs to lose about 80 to 100 lbs. She is having hip and knee issues, AND her husband, who had a heart attack 2 years ago, has suddenly put on about 30 lbs and really needs to get that off. I've sent her links to The Plan and Dr Ken Berry and see how she responds to that. You're right, when you google Simeons protocol, you get a full page of favorable articles, whereas if you google hcg diet, the first bunch of articles are all negative. That's very good to know! I will use that information in the future if someone really wants details.

OK, off to get my Monday work done too.
