September 2018 - Shrinking and Loving it

    Hey all,

Welcome to the September loaders group! This is your thread--you can use it to gather for planning your round and for support and accountability as you go through it. If you are new, you may be in a group with some veterans who can help shine a guiding light when things get confusing (and they often do!). We are here to support, encourage and remind you of the proven ways to be successful with the HCG protocol.

I'll be checking in the answer questions and address concerns with suggestions based on the original protocol. You are free of course to assess any information offered, do what you think is best and we will still cheer you on.

Good luck with your coming round, and it will be fun to see what kind of group we get this time. Each loader group seems to have its own personality.

I think we'll see some stopping by this thread soon as we get past the holiday.

I expect you'll navigate the scale just fine this week.

The first week of P3 is always a wild ride for me on the scale. I've come to expect it, so it doesn't stress me out either. I've only had one P3 where I failed to stabilize. It was the one where I tried to do egg days for corrections and ended up gaining instead of dropping back. I was thinking it was something else, so kept eating eggs since I thought they were a safe food for me. It was after that P3 when I finally realized I was egg sensitive. But eating eggs during that P3 was probably part of why I couldn't keep in my window no matter what else I tried.

    Hi all,

Just a few questions if I may....

    1. I'm a little confused as to how to count my weight on what days. For example, the day I started loading I was 164. The next morning I was 165.6 and that is what I said for Day 1. After loading for the second day, I was 166.4 and now that I am starting very low calorie day, I weighed in at 167.8 after loading for two days. So that is how I recorded it in my tracker and on my signature, is this correct? I weigh in the mornings. Or should today be VLCD0 - 167.8 and tomorrow, be VLCD1?

    2. I've been reading in many places on the forum how important it is to have berries (some limited fruit) during P2, in order to help stabilize in P3. Same with the Melba or Grissolini (or whatever they're called). Is this true/correct?

    3. When is it too early to start planning for P3? My intention is to do this round POP and do the same with P3, to stabilize my hard work. So I want to know how best to do it. If I start planning for it now, will it take the focus off of p2? Any ideas or suggestions?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Kimberly

    1. You count your loss from the morning weight the first day of P2. Average losses are figured on that number. VLCD1 is the the first day of the 500 calorie diet. Your first loss from P2 will be recorded on VLCD2.

    2. Most berries are not on protocol. You can choose from orange, grapefruit, strawberries or apple as your fruit. HCG protocol is not a keto diet, so enjoy the 2 fruits you are allowed. It is not necessary to deprive yourself further during P2. The fruits are important for fiber, blood sugar and daily joy reasons. The protocol does mention that a small amount of starch (the melba/grissini) is needed. The protocol does not specifically mention how eliminating any parts of the menus will affect stabilization. It does say that you don't have to eat all items every day if you are not hungry enough to eat them.

    3. That depends on you and how you handle delayed gratification. Personally, I try not to think too much about P3 until the transition time when I'm coming off HCG. Thats plenty of time for me to mentally prepare and shop for whatever I'm wanting that first glorious week of P3.

    Thank you Leez,

So tomorrow, VLCD2, will show hopefully weight loss, from today being my first 500 calorie day...

Thank you re: fruits - i have enjoyed my strawberries today and will continue to do so.

re: protocol.... and delayed gratification.... I'll keep you posted... *lol* I feel pretty good about being able to do P2, I have great support and motivation, and have found a groove from the last time that I am going to try to repeat, replicate. It's P3, that Ive struggled with ... too many choices, too fast.... this time I want to do that differently...

Onwards and downwards... (on the scale anyways)... .*lol*

    Hello all,

This is my second round, more like my first. My actual first was in about 2011. I recently had a baby in December of 2016. I just stopped breastfeeding and ready to shed this "baby weight". I plan to load this saturday and sunday being that I am hosting my sisters 25th bday dinner and brunch. This time around I also plan to workout, mainly squats, crunches, using a 10 lb kettlebell. I may have 2 eggs whites in the am with my coffee/tea to compensate for the calories burned during my workout. Going in with a plan! I hope to have maximum loss over the next 28 days. I just lost 10 pounds with killer workouts and calorie counting! So I'm off to a great start.

Welcome Seanna, wow--your workout plan has me tired just reading it.

Unless you are used to doing that routine (depends on how long you've been doing your "killer workouts"), you may wish to reconsider starting something like that in P2. It can work against you. The protocol says it is fine to continue any activities you are used to. Adding new ones is not advised. You likely won't have the endurance for anything extra.

Rose, you are doing great. I would love to have P3s where I could stay under my LIW. It doesn't seem to work that way for me.
