Thread: September 2021 Loaders - Sassies

Hi Sassies, P2D6 for me and I'm down 6.6lb. I was hoping to get 1 or 2 more days of the big losses but it has slowed the past two days. I'm still hitting half a pound per day, though, so I'll take it.

P4 Day 11 i believe 145.2 Staying close . LIW 147.0 Eating well.. no cravings. Enjoyed by Saturday “off” day. Been awhile to just order what I wanted. I find that having one day a week to indulge if i choose allows me mental peace. Funny thing is i do not tend to overindulgenthat day. Usually one larger meal and small dinner or none.

It sounds like you have a lot of willpower, roselanoue. I know in the past if I allow myself an "off" day, then it turns into an off week, then an off month... and hence why I'm back on HCG now.

For me, P2D7 and down 8lb in total. A great loss of 1.3lb overnight and I'm feeling more comfortable than I have in the past two days, so I suspect I did cause a bit of a blip with my dosing mistake. But nevermind, I made it through and feeling back on track now.

Good luck with going out of town, roselanoue.

I had another great weigh in today, down another 1.4lb for a total of 9.7. Yesterday was a massive day, though, I incidentally ended up doing more walking than I suspect I've done in years. I am certainly feeling it today! I expected a stall from it due to inflammation, but I was lucky there. Having said that, with such a great round so far, I do expect a stall to be coming any day now.

A very strange thing happened to me today that I'd love some advice on. One of the meals I've been eating is a homemade beef burger (it's literally nothing but 95% lean ground beef shaped into a burger shape - here in Australia, I typically have access to very high quality beef) with 100% tomato paste and mustard, and sometimes I'll add lettuce although technically that means I'm mixing vegetables. And this is the meal I most look forward to, I don't feel like I'm on a diet at all and I feel far more satisfied than if I have a meal with chicken.

However, today, I could not stomach the beef. Even typing about it now, I want to be sick. It's turning my stomach. There's nothing wrong with the beef, it's fresh and I could taste that the burger was cooked to my liking, but I just couldn't stomach it. I tried to eat as much as I could and then I ate an apple, and I felt much better after the apple - I was definitely hungry. I'm feeling the same icky feeling to a lesser extent about chicken too. Has anyone ever developed a sudden meat aversion while on HCG? If so, how did you deal with it?

I'll have to go dig the protocol out but I have a feeling Simeons may have mentioned it. But very open to ideas / suggestions / advice if anyone has anything for me.

I found the part I was thinking of, but I'm still keen to hear of other people's experiences or advice:

Very occasionally we allow egg - boiled, poached or raw - to patients who develop an aversion to meat, but in this case they must add the white of three eggs to the one they eat whole. In countries where cottage cheese made from skimmed milk is available 100 grams may occasionally be used instead of the meat, but no other cheeses are allowed.

I have used eggs as well as fat-free Greek yogurt in P2. The yogurt is not pop but it worked for me.

Thanks, mrsstrong. Yesterday, I ate eggs for both my meals because I couldn't even smell the beef or chicken without coming close to throwing up - I think the fact that my stomach was empty was the only reason I didn't. I enjoyed the eggs very, very much. However, P2D11 today and I am the same weight as yesterday, 175.5. I'm down 10.1lb in total, so I'm assuming this is a regular stall (or pause, fingers crossed it doesn't last as long as a stall) and keep pressing on with the eggs. If I had a problem with eggs, I would've seen my weight go up, is that right?

I am concerned that solely relying on eggs will end up creating some sort of aversion to them, too. But I'm not sure what else to do to get through the round. I have a mild lactose intolerance so I'm not keen to add skim milk (as Simeons suggests for strict vegetarians) or yogurt (the last time I tried it, I broke out in a rash across my face). I had every intention of staying on plan and sticking the course, and that was showing so well in the numbers. I hope this doesn't derail me.

Samster, your could try pureeing your meat into some chicken broth to make a creamy soup to float your veggies in. Sometimes that is a way you can get beyond the meat aversion.

Thanks Leez, that's a great idea. I'll go looking for a suitable broth.

Today, P2D12, I'm down another 1.3lb. I ate eggs for both my protein serves yesterday, so I'm very pleased to see they're not affecting my weight loss. I'm also going to admit that I've been using two whole eggs instead of one whole egg and three whites. The eggs I have are 8% fat, and given the beef I was eating is 5% fat, I honestly couldn't justify the waste of 3 yolks and using 4 eggs for one meal when I could be using 2 for the sake of such a minor difference. At a 100g serving, that's 5g of fat versus 8g of fat. So apparently now I'm going rogue all over the place.

Samster, I can see your POV about wasting yolks. I buy egg whites in cartons and measure them out. That way, I don't throw away food. Most grocery stores and Costco stock egg whites.
